This is another video in my series “Walks in Hampshire” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I take a 4.5 mile circular route from the pretty village of Barton Stacey (located 7 miles to the South East of Andover in Hampshire).
I start my walk by exploring the Church of All Saints before discussing the history of the village and looking at the old pub, shop & beautiful houses in the main street.
My route then takes me North along a delightful country lane with breathtaking views of fields & crops to follow the banks of the River Dever. The lane brings me to the hamlet of Bransbury, past of stunning ancient Mill and a small bridge over the river.
I then head South through Bransbury Common - a Site of Special Scientific Interest - where I see hundreds of butterflies and hazel trees. I then spend some time by a pretty ford that crosses the River Dever before heading back to Barton Stacey via an old Roman Road and paths across fields.
A truly wonderful walk in spectacular countryside in glorious weather.
