Cris, when having to remove small headed nails, such as pin, brad, and finish nails, I use a inexpensive pop rivet tool. They usually come with several sized heads. Find the one closet to the size of the nail you want to remove, slide it over the protruding nail and squeeze the tool. It pulls the nail the rest of the way through the wood. This is really good if the nail hole has already been filled and the project has a finish on it. I use this method when reusing interior molding in a renovation. There is no chance of "tear out" on the finished side. And, I love this project, such a great use of the space.

Great tip! Thanks for sharing Larry, I will try to remember it next time!

Now that's a pro tip worth spreading! Working in antiques, I developed a bunch of weird techniques over the years to save the fronts when de-nailing, but never came to use a riveting-tool to date ....
@larrysherman5254
@larrysherman5254 3 года назад
@@manfredschmalbach9023 Thank you. One other thing I do if working with particularly soft or old fragile moldings, is to use a large washer with a small hole. Place it over the nail, and then use the rivet tool. This spreads the pressure over a larger area and reduces the chance of splitting.
@manfredschmalbach9023
@manfredschmalbach9023 3 года назад
@@larrysherman5254 Yes, I have different sets of japanese nailpullers, modified with rounded edges to make sure it doesn't leave marks from levering, and - so long enough of a nail-rest pokes out - do carry differently shaped stainless tin plates with small holes in those to lay over the nail, enabling me pulling with normal nippers .... but that rivet gun trick I gotta try next time, with and without washer. Cheers!

It's really amazing how much furniture you can fit in such a small space without it looking crowded and cramped. Also, the combination of the light plywood with the partial white paint and the glass doors probably helps everything look so fresh and light. The fact that the cabinet doors don't have handles is a good idea, because with so many doors it would look extremely strange if there were handles everywhere. 😂 Overall, a really very successful piece of built-in furniture. Great job - well done! 👍

Great solution with the angled cabinet front next to the windows. It maintains the aesthetic while making everything fit and adds an interesting feature to the design. I've always understood that ultraviolet light was blocked by glass. Could it be that just a subset of frequencies of UVA, UVB or UVC can pass through glass, and that's what the glue reacts to? So it all needs a specific type of UV flashlight to work.
