I've been in one of these and fell. I thought I was gonna die, but I heard "GET HIM UP!!!" from a dude and people immediately helped me up. I also lost my shoe, but got it back after the band was done.
yesterday i was in pit on cannibal corpse at obscene extreme and i fell and like three people helped me instantly, after i get up they throw me back in the pit
@@slaweed6755 Yeah it's almost a sort of unwritten rule at metal concerts to help out your fellow listeners! If you see someone get hurt or falling on the ground you help
I brought mine to her first metal concert she likes metal but still had never experienced an actual concert I told her I'd do my best to keep her away from the pit cuz I knew she couldn't handle it Well we all know things happen and the pit managed to drift to us and man the look of fear on her face 💀 she was not ready 😂 thankfully most near us were pretty cool and helped me get her back out 💀😂 I kinda wanna take my super Christian country fan to one tho She can't even handle stuff like three days grace 💀
I fell in a pit at a NIN show at Lolla. The gang got me to my feet in seconds --- but I had lost my pack. Word spread in seconds around the pit and I was the "Bro without his pack". Was awesome to see every one calling out and searching (while still moshing their heart out of course. Pack found and returned two songs later.
I took my small 9 year old son to see Killswitch Engage and we stood up on the balcony , he wanted to go in the mosh pit and got right to the front , two huge bearded metal heads then linked thier arms and protected him for the whole gig .....even the bassist Mike D Antonio looked at my son and gave a thumbs up and a plectrum to him . Metal heads are the nicest people you will ever meet , if someone falls down in the mosh pit they are quickly helped up ..its an unwritten rule. Its funny how people act shocked at the mosh pits which are self policed by the fans and are just a fantastic release of energy and joy but with hip hop and rap the the whole ethos is about violence, gangs , drugs , drug dealing being glamourised, guns , lack of respect for women and the performers and the fans kill each other because they live in a different postcode to each other . Give me metal any day ❤
Can't say I love the mosh pit, but you make a very good point about hip hop/rap. Far more damage is done to society (both white and colored) by gangster rap than any mosh pit ever could.
@@innovativeprogramschool7979 it was a small venue ..Bristol Colston hall in UK ......, i could see him at all times and the bouncers were looking out for him as well as members of the crowd .....it was a great experience for him and a great memory.......... he got a plectrum from Killswitch and from In Flames .....great night and fantastic gig .....he was in no danger at all ......thats why i love the metal crowd . Obviously it would be different at a festival or large venue .
This may be insensitive but why is it us metal heads can go do this shit and everyone leaves alive but a rap concert just killed 11... and injured countless more, it really baffles my mind. I've been to quite a few metal concerts and been in many upon many of insane mosh pits walls of deaths and I always walk out, battered and bruised mind you but i'm alive none the less.
Because it wasn’t a mosh pit that caused the deaths. It was overcrowding (people broke into the venue hours before). People were packed like sardines and suffocated from their chests being crushed.
It's because people at rap concerts are mostly mainstream assholes where as at metal festivals we really look out for each other. We had nasty circle pits going when I saw meshuggah but when someone fell we made room and let them get up
@@anthonylewis3129 This is definitely a big part of it but crushes can happen anywhere that's way over capacity & the people flooding in from the entrance have no idea they are killing people in the front of the venue. Look up the UK crush incident. It's not the first time it's happened & being rock fans wouldnt give us any type of advantage in a situation like that. A lot of rock shows aren't as big either because it's not as mainstream which helps a lot
@Sanjay W when both sides slammed together, me and another guy slammed very hard at eachother and I fell hard down in an achward angle, landing on my arm and I broke it. That wall of death was nothing in size as shown in this video. It was a Satyricon concert here in Norway with 1000 people, and we were probably 20-30 people in total in the wall of death. Since we were so few in the wall of death, there was much space to fall to the ground, and not easy for the others to catch me before I slammed to the floor
I have watched a few of these videos, because it is so strange to me, and i have to give my respect to these crowds for always picking people up off the ground as soon as possible. They really look out for each other even though they are kind of purposely hurting each other at the same time lol.
I prefer not to spinkick or wtf the people in middle are doing, these people are dangerous in the pit, and that's not normal, a lot of bands actually ban that kind of moshing, moshing is shoulder against shoulder and pushing, no punching and no kicking allowed, I have even seen signs with it. I have been a metal concert participant for 6 years and I am a fan of the pit, all the hugs after the show, it's a family man, but I have tried a pit like that twice in those 6 years
Never happens at beatdown shows. There's the arm flailing and spin kicking that is typical of hardcore, but instead of someone incidentally getting punched or kicked, those dickheads specifically target individual people to just repeatedly punch in the face, and then resume their spin kicks and arm flailing as if they didn't just straight up commit battery.
@@APT420my first pit was at a pretty small indoor show recently and even there i was picked up immidiately. It happened so fast at times that i didnt even realize i was falling until i was already picked up. I'm a new metalhead (been listening for years but only recently got into the scene) and i absolutely love everything
When you see this and realise that usually no one gets hurt just proves how awesome metal crowds are.. and if some fuckhead tries to get violent, people will set him straight in a second..
Actually, the woman with the green hair on one of the end's of the jump rope was literally pushed to the ground before the mob stepped over her. It does not look good for her at all.
Only those who have been in a moshpit know that everybody whatches after everybody's back, even though it doesn't appear so, you can see people using their arms in order to protect those in the ground don't letting them be smashed by the huge meat wave. Respect.
I unexpectedly experienced in mosh pit a few years back and it was like you said. However decades ago when I was last in one it was rough and everyone or at least a lot of people were out for blood. Beer bottles intentionally smashed on the floor people throwing punches and stuff like that.
I love this on so many levels. It's been a while but the last pit I was in, looked arm's with another girl, and of course, I fall. Within seconds I was picked up and moshing my heart out. Peace and love to my metal/punk family 🤟
At 0:55, at the bottom left you can see a guy in a red shirt fall and the guy behind in a white vest immediately goes to catch him. I love it how people absolutely loose their shit at these shows but at the same time they are so caring for eachother.
Can we be serious for a second: Lately I've been experiencing that a lot while watching videos, and I don't think it's my imagination. Have you guys been noticing this lately?
Imagine this is the future of America. After reading more comments. I edited my comments and realized that I'm just to old for this. More power to you metal heads!!!!
I got caught in a wall of death once... Mind you I'm a small woman at 5'2... They broke my glasses and I left with a bloody nose and a black eye... It was awesome...
My friend lost his shoe in a mosh pit and everyone made a circle, found it in the mud and let him put it back on. Mosh pits are a wild mix of danger and friendliness.
I’m a very small female. I got squashed up against a barricade at the very front during a Papa Roach show. The security guy pulled me out and just told me to stay there, right in front of the stage for the whole show. I couldn’t hear for a couple days but had a great view.
this whole video is comedic gold. from kilt guy mooning us to the jacket skirt limbo guy getting demolished. also rip to that chick and lime green shirt dude
Was at a concert and was lifted up and moved around crowd surfing but some idiots moved out of the way and I could’ve taken a nasty fall but 2 guys caught me right before I hit the ground and asked if I was okay! Love concerts.
@@manicmurph Nah, I don't think anyone got hurt. There's a lot of pushing and slipping and sliding because everyone's covered in sweat and beer and half the dudes were shirtless. Haha People will push really hard, but everyone's having a good time. There's no malice and if anyone gets hurt, they need to stop the show. So there's kind of a sense of camaraderie, just get ready to go flying or get crushed if you're not careful. I'm sure some people at other concerts had different experiences, though.
These kind people were needed in South Korea a few weeks ago. I appreciate reading your experiences about the Mosh pit. It looks intimidating for sure.
I was in one of these at a NIN gig in 2009 and my feet left the floor completely, I was terrified, but someone grabbed me and kept me upright and looked after me. Never found out who they were but they were so kind
My friend lived in Florida for several years and flip flops are the most common footwear for young people there. Well he went to a mosh pit event wearing flip flops. He had never been to an event like that before. He found out quickly, you don't go into a mosh pit with that kind of footwear !
I see in this video lots of anergy but not violence at all what I thought. Very impressive how everyone can reunited around music 🎶 🎵 extraordinary. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is the evolution of THE PIT. Pure release. To those who don't understand what is goin on, you are afraid. Harness your fears and passage shall be granted. The scary part is that society is not listening....
I remember at a batushka concert I fell down, but they got me up as soon as I could even get myself up lol even helped me find my phone haha good memories
With the way we hit there would be a shit load of broken necks and deaths per game lol tackling is different, it would be illegal in rugby. It's whatever though, I'm not trying to change your mind.
A girl I know went to a Slayer concert and they were near the front row. On the first note of the show some guy turns around and punched her boyfriend out cold! She just was screaming and frantically trying to drag him away from the mosh pit and out of the venue. She saved his life. She was terrified! No thanks!
More like wall of wealth...for me. I ganked 7 wallets during this wall of death and moshing to this one song alone. I believe the take there was about $3,500K in 3.5 minutes. 28 wallets and 4 cell phones during just this bands set. I go to rock shows for this reason alone. Especially festivals. All of that close quarters contact is a pick pockets wet dream. When the marks are drunk and high on top of it...Candy from a baby. This is what I do for a living. Festival season is my busy season at "work". I'll go to a 3 day festival Friday through Sunday and work every day. Floating from stage to stage to the heaviest acts playing. Heavier music means more moshing. And that means more opportunity. My work is clean too. I'll hit 3-5 marks all within 10 feet of each other at times. Nobody has a clue until they go to buy their next beer between bands. And at that point it's too late. It could have been anyone as far as they're concerned. Or they likely think they just accidentally dropped their wallet while moshing. Big bucks sometimes because couples go and their girl doesn't bring her purse. So boyfriend has to load extra cash in his wallet. I've gotten good at picking these types out of a crowd too. I'm a true master of my craft. I miss Warped tour quite a bit. Younger crowds there. Pockets full of their parents money and they're young and dumb. Oblivious to an alpha predator like myself. I net 200k CASH ALONE on a bad year. That's not counting all of the other profits of my business. I make thousands annually on just selling used wallets. Thousands on phones. We aren't even factoring the plastic, which can net me more than my cash profit most years. I'm hiring Deciples if you're reading this and interested in a job. Nights and weekends are a must. Holidays off. Travel is a requirement, but the money is great. And most shifts end with puss. It's the best job in the world. Serious inquiries only please.
@@GAMER_0101 Haha. That's kind, my friend. But I don't consider myself a legend. Although I've had some legendary takes, and legendary days over the years. I'm just a guy who loves all varieties of snatch. From pockets, as well as the female varieties. I've just dedicated myself to my craft. I could lift a girls tampon from her vag without her knowing. So wallets and valuables in pockets are lay-ups. It's an art I've mastered. Distraction is key. Understanding of how the human brain works, and how to manipulate it's weaknesses. Overstimulation and sensory overload. People can't focus on multiple things at once. This is why mosh pits are the ideal setting. They do the overstimulating for me. My touch is light, but doesn't even have to be in a mosh pit. It's just nonstop contact that masks what I'm doing. It's like a beautiful symphony. You seem to have an appreciation for the craft. Are you interested in my tutelage? Any desire to become a deciple?
they had actual tactics shield walls polearms archers cavalry limited thrusts flanking maneuvers the goal was to break the enemy formation and get to the nobles
It looks rough, but not really. Everbody is basically looking out for each other while having fun. The second someone is in trouble, he will helped up immediately. There is always some unwritten etiquette going on during these.
