What makes wallpapering more difficult is some of the paper itself some of it is so thin it just tears just looking at it .

I think you’re starting point is not the ideal place in regards of the chimney breast are notorious for not being straight, if you start at the centre of the breast it’s not only easier on the eye but any plum ness can be easily lost in the angle and any bagginess that may occur on chimney corner can smoothed out

Why not wrap around the external by a few mm, then re hang and plumb the next length/off cut back. That eliminates those horrid crease and bubbles when you try and go around in one. On a larger return external you'd never have a plumb edge to work with wrapping around in one go. Btw... U tried wickes tub paste yet?
@wotviewer
@wotviewer 6 месяцев назад
so you wrap around the external corner but overlap the internal? other videos do not wrap external, but they do have a +/- 10mm overlap on the "inside" wall, so the face of the chimney is complete paper but the sides are where any pattern overlap problems are less visible.

@PaintingandDecorating
@PaintingandDecorating 3 года назад
Thank you. Depends on the pattern and the type of corner. 90° corner you can go round a little 2to3mm then overlap next length and trim. Bullnose you see how it lies then make a decision deal with the bubbles on the corner or see if you can cut and splice the length all depends on pattern..

That's difficult to answer as both types have good points and bad points... but I always paste the paper anyway because it's the best way to keep paste off the front off the paper. And helps to make it easier to handle the paper. thanks

Now if someone could show me a good technique to paper round an external bullnose corner that's also a slanted ceiling I would be all ears. Seems like it's an impossible job to do without cutting into the paper where the slant begins at the corner, but you lose any hope of making it a tidy job there doing that.
@PaintingandDecorating

Easy... you can only ever hang your paper straight.. anything else is the rooms fault. So nothing can be done apart from choosing the correct pattern.
