I've had the Expert grill for 2 + years and I got it for $100 on sale, it has never let me down, alway lights, one draw back is flare ups. I use it atleast once a week. I also have the EG smoker. Next I am going for the EG 28" griddle and the charcoal pizza oven. Thanks Tom for your channel 👍
I had intended on purchasing the Char-Broil grill and searched RU-vid for a review. Your video showed up in the results. I used your link to purchase the Expert Grill for my up coming father's day BBQ. Thanks so much for your review! I saved money and got a better product.
I've been using my stainless Char-Broil grill for about 7 years with great luck and zero problems but it is time to find another grill. i always wondered about the walmart grills and with your comparison i will definitely give it some consideration. nice little video
My dad's 4 burner Expert Grill is around 6 or 7 years old now, and besides some minor staining at the bottom of the lid, it still shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Everything still functions as it was intended. I got mine 2 years ago and I'm quite honestly very satisfied with it. I'm pretty hard on my grills as I typically grill once or twice a week, even in midwestern wintertime, and it's been a solid grill that practically looks brand new when thoroughly cleaned. I'm not all praise for them though, as I had a 3 burner grill from Expert Grill that pretty much rotted away after only 1.5 years, so definitely avoid that one.
I've bought so many cheap grills over the years and leaving them out in the weather for 2 or 3 years always leads to needing to buy a new grill because there are no replacement parts to be found. I bought a Weber 3 burner grill 7 years ago, replaced the flavorizer bars once, and am still going strong. "The poor man always pays twice".
I have a Char-Broil grill and have used it heavily for over five years. I am currently having to replace the burners, this morning I was at Walmart and for fun looked at their grills. One big advantage for Char-Broil is Lowe’s has parts in stock at the store. When I asked about parts at Walmart the employee said they don’t stock parts at the store level!
I'd go for the Expert Grill myself, but I have a Weber already so won't be getting another gas grill until the Weber goes down! Gr8 vid Tom and thanks!
This is great. Had been looking at the CB at Lowes and the nexgrill at home depot and had pretty much decided on the CB... until now. The expert grill is a way better buy. I have a Traeger 8 years now but have been wanting a gas grill for some time and refuse to spend as much as I did on the Traeger. Lol great video. Time to go shopping
@Tom Horsman 4 burner model sitting on my deck, assembled, seasoned and ready to go. Just have to buy something to cook first. Lol my only gripes. The super cheap plastic feeling control knobs, and what the hell are those 2 thin bent metal rods under it for? I can't figure it out. They don't support anything.
Thanks man my Expert Grill is on the way. It is replacing my 2 burner Charbroil grill. I had it for over 7 years the lid on the left back corner had a blowout due to heat stress and rust. It was built better than the one in your comparison more like the Expert. I bought the Expert Grill Before I saw your review. I looked around and liked the 4 burner. I do not need a side burner my old one had the side burner and I did not use it. it also left me wanting for more grill space with the 2 burners. I think the 4 burners on my new Expert Grill is going to fix this with the 4 burners. Thanks for the review Tom kind regards.
5 year burner now, 10 years ago 3 year warranty lasted 3 years 2 months got Burnt once will check burners yearly we do lots grilling last grill was brinkmann will not buy again burners disintegrated into rust dust 4 years. Like me Walmart expert $148 best deal I saw for 4 burners no side burner
I bought the expert grill Commodore after watching your video on their pellet smokers last year. It lasted about two months before the auger seized up. Never heard back from their customer support contacts. Bummer because I was super impressed with it.
What really ruins these cheap grills is exposure to the weather. If you keep them covered they will last a very long time. My grandfather bought a cheap grill in the late 90s but he keeps it in his porch when not in use. The outside still looks new.
They’re really not making that bad of stuff for a cheaper product you know they give you a pretty good little bang for how much you’re spending I’m waiting on a charcoal pizza oven through Expert Grill see how it is Good review keep up the good work
Walmart has really step up there grill game. I have the expert grill griddle and the kamado grill and use the charcoal all the time. I’m expert grill fan
Great video. I just purchased and built one of the Expert grills. The heat plates sit at an angle when placed in the grooves. They're higher in the front than the back. It looks like in your video that's how they are, but I'm not sure. Is that correct? Thanks for your help
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks for the quick reply. It looks like it wouldn't cook evenly but there really isn't any other way to place the heat plates in there. Thanks for your help!
expert grills have really crappy customer support. I have a charbroil x200 and needed a new regulator, they got back to me same day no hassle at all. Also charbroil makes there commercial 3 burner and 5 burner that is of much higher quality. If people want to buy once cry once then look at high end gassers. Napoleon, lynx, mhp, hestan, coyote, tec...
