Tbf, Siler was actually the stunt coordinator iirc. He was mainly in it so they didn't have to use an extra when he got beat to hell lol. Still a favorite though, no doubt.

Not sure he was still working at the SGC in 2010. Pretty sure he was brought to the pentagon with general O'Neil in SGU

It would have been interesting if he somehow had the ability to remember or recall details of alternate timelines, could have been used as a story arc!

i agree. the call backs, the quirks, and the acting all backing what this show was about; which on paper seams amazing, but you think about it further in the story went, kinda went dumb. but the Side characters kept the down to earth feeling and secondary characters kept it motivated then guest stars to keep things refreshed.

I only disagree with your final sentence - I do think there *are* modern series that do it well. White Collar (in my view a show whose secondary cast *made* the show) and Person of Interest particularly come to mind as examples

SGA, the supporting cast was a tad inconsistent. But SGU really took SG1's affinity for support cast and took it to another level. Still can't tell which are the supporting and which are the main tbh The entire franchise is just so well written though, really miss it :/

He could have been the Agent Coulson of SGC.

yeah we should have gotten an episode where it's just Siler, Walter and scientist Lee and their shennanigens trying to save the day.

+JakePlays They time traveled by accident before... why couldn't it happen again? Walter was part of Stargate Command when it happened. He knows of the team's past adventures.

The showrunners made such a gargantuan error when they did Universe with no humor. The humor was essential to the fun of the show.

Yeah, I always found the sort of animosity between Walter and SG-1 out of place in this scene.

Nope. It was an homage to the character of Walter "Radar" O'Reilley from M*A*S*H, since both he and Radar share similar physical characteristics, both serve quintessential but subdued support roles, and they both served bald generals named Hammond. It was intentional by the writers/producers.
