Walter Egan is a studio musician during a recording session with Fleetwood Mac met Stevie Nicks and instantly fell head over heels in love the love for her inspired him to write that song a top ten hit that sold over a million copies.
No doubt ; Stevie Nicks is the : ALL TIME BABE !!! She so beautiful and been crushing on her all my life. She’s something else. She today is more beautiful then ever. Let it be known , Dale Bozzio , Taylor Dane , my crushes forever going way back. I’m a old head lol. That’s when we had great music. Today’s is garbage.
I had no idea Ms Nicks did back-up on this song. After watching this clip,it is hard to believe that Little Ms Stevie is 70 years young today! I watch Fleetwood Quack's 1997 "Dance tour" vid and at 50y.o. back then she was smokin' and today she is still one damn good lookin' woman.
I am 63 years old This song will be forever be linked to my first in everything he would dedicate this song to me before we actually started dating And we ended up getting married And I karaoke this all the time along with Toto hold the line
Aww, great song by Walter Egan. I remember Stevie Nicks said once in a video that her father told her she would never get married because she loved “doing her music more”. So I guess she really is “a woman lost in her song” as the song Magnet and Steel mentions in that sense as well. I guess we’ve all been through those kind of crushes which inmortalizes this song to this day. ❤🌟🎼🎸
Back to Annie McLoone! Stevie was the tease, but Annie was THE answer! Thank you Annie, so wonderful and looking so wonderful in your video footage (elsewhere), you got noticed!
He hasn't survived... this is the last song that I have ever heard of him and she made the song with her vocal singing with him to the melody of the song.
Magnet and Steel Walter Egan Now I told you so you ought to know (Oh) it takes some time for a feelin' to grow (Oh) but you're so close now I can't let you go (Oh) and I can't let go With you I'm not shy, to show the way I feel With you I might try, my secrets to reveal For you are a magnet and I am steel I can hope that I'll hold you for long (Oh) you're a woman who's lost to your song (Oh) but the love that I feel is so strong (Oh) and it can't be wrong With you I'm not shy, to show the way I feel With you I might try, my secrets to reveal For you are a magnet and I am steel With you I'm not shy, to show the way I feel With you I might try, my secrets to reveal For you are a magnet and I am steel For you are a magnet and I am steel For you are a magnet and I am steel For you are a magnet and I am steel For you are a magnet and I am steel Songwriters: Walter Lindsay Egan
Guys, this is a Walter Egan song, not a Stevie Nicks song. She just sang backup vocals. It's not "all about Stevie Nicks"--he was just lucky enough to get her to work on his song, back in the day.
Lindsey buckingham played on this album and produced it back in the day stevie nicks and lindsey were living together for 5ys and they new walter egan and he had big crush on stevie he wrote this song about her but lindsey and stevie did not know until years later weirdest I ever heard.
I was always rooting for Walter on his quest to win Stevie's heart. He never seemed happier than when she was in his presence. I guess some things aren't meant to be.
I remember listening to the radio closely as in the mid song, they build up the harmony layers in the background--which by then was the foreground! Neil Diamond did the same in Cherry Cherry.
