It’s -10 with wind maybe-20 and my light weight pig gloves don’t come close to helping. I use my cheap TSC hardware gloves. Try something like the 507C with the ACSS reticle. If you have proper eye alignment it'll just function normally. My Walther PDP is my favorite pistol. The ergonomics and trigger on this gun are both excellent

Nutnfancy is the undisputed champion of RU-vid gun video titles.

This is easily my favorite polymer framed pistol under $1000. I have really big hands and it feels like this was made just for me. Best trigger, out of the box, best ergonomics, best feeling serrations of any of my pistols that are striker fired. The only thing I did was put a 508T on top and got the steel guide rod assembly. Perfection!

Your video made me originally get my PPQ M2. Been a faithful companion since then. Honestly, best handgun i've ever owned. Not a SINGLE failure. Run it during IDPA whenever I compete.

I still have my 5in PPQ... I always will. I literally bought one the day you released your initial review waaaaaay back. Absolutely LOVE that pistol. Been at my bedside for years.

It hits high marks in every category & there is nothing on it I need to upgrade. Walther is one of those hidden gem oldschool companies that goes above & beyond w. their craftmanship/details (even this PDP stepped chamber, etc) that many never notice. This company has been refining their tools for over 100 years.

I have had a PPQ Navy for a few years, love it. I now have a PDP 4" Compact and the 5" Compact, both great guns. I am a Glock fan boy but certainly love these Walther options.

I am so disappointed that Walther hasn't come out with a new micro compact 9mm to compete with all the others out now.

I rock the 4" 17-round PDP. Walther makes perhaps the most ergonomic guns you can find anywhere, and some of the best triggers. And though the PDP looks heavy and blocky, it is more or less the same weight as a similar-sized Glock.

You should revisit red dots on pistols nutn

Got into the PPQ many years ago and had a 5 inch M1 (never should have sold) and a 4 inch M1. Ended up moving on from the PPQ due to consolidating on one handgun system and goind to DA/SA. Been looking at factory optic ready handguns lately though and the PDP has my attention. I consider other factors with switching handgun systems and that is customer service and LE/MIL porgrams. I know from past experience that Walther CS is excellent. The LE/MIL program is still pretty good from what I see. At least it looks like you can buy direct from them still, unlike CZ who does not even offer parts discounts anymore.

That is so funny that you mentioned the CZ P-10c. I own 2 pistols, the Walther PDP and the CZ P-10c. LOVE them both as if I gave birth to them in the same day but, just something about the PDP that just edges out the P-10c. Currently the P-10c is still my EDC until my new IWB holster comes for the Walther. If looking for a FANTASTIC OWB holster, may I suggest the CompTac (CT3). OMG, I will never buy a safariland again.

Just got one in Tungsten recently. Looks cool, shoots good. It's no Staccato but gives any Glock a run for its money.

Glock sights fit. I have one and it's the most amazing pistol I have ever owned or fired. Best trigger, best texturing, best grip, best red dot readiness, 18 +1, incredible accuracy, that tapered barrel for extra pew power, and that Walther Quality is 2nd to none. Excellent review. I have the 4.5" model and I have to say, because the grip texture is so perfect, it's the only gun i own that I will never put on grip tape, slip on sleeve, etc. And the trigger is phenomenal right out of the box.

I think once you get used to it, the Euro paddle mag release is much better. I don't have to shift my grip to use it.

Have my new PDP and man the trigger is a hair nicer than the PPQ. My pdp carries a Holosun 507 with acss Vulcan reticle. Love it. Lol didn't want to but within one range trip I had to love it. They do 1/3 co witness with standard height sights and co witness with taller sights. Put co witness night fusion front and u notch rear. Carry daily in a crossbreed belt slide holster.

Think that tapered seal is called a “step chamber” and improves accuracy/velocity but also pressure. This might be why the PDP has a bit more pronounced muzzle flip (sprinco and others make ss rod/springs that supposedly reduce that significantly).

I convinced my best friend in utah to get the ppq based on your reviews. He loves it. Unfortunately i live in ny, with the ny safe act all i can have is a 1911 unless its some ultra compact single stack...

I have the PDP and I enjoyed this review. I'm not the fan boy type. I own several guns and appreciate all of them. While I wish Walther would've put more ingenuity into making the slide smaller. I have to say... the "highly marketed" features that sound gimmicky with names like "super-terrain serrations" or "performance duty grip texture" etc... the features are actually SUPERIOR to all the polymer guns on the market. Not saying that OTHER full package weapons systems couldn't be superior for varying individuals? To me, the pdp feels like the perfect combat gun. For concealed carry I still slightly prefer my compact P320. (NO I haven't jumped on the micro-pistol bandwagon yet.) Lastly, I like the PDP trigger better than the PPQ for one reason only. Functionally they are equally good but the PDP has a more defined wall that makes for a much more predictable trigger than the PPQ.

Been shooting mostly 124s out of my 4" compact, which typically chrono around 1150. Not quite +P in my book, but still impressive for the length

As someone who owns a PDP, I picked it over a VP9 OR even though it doesn't have a paddle magazine release like my other HKs, the PDP is simply the beat striker polymer gun on the market for the money. It's better than Glock, it's better than a 320, it's better than a Canik, it's better than a Beretta. If you haven't gotten to mess with one yet, go to your local store and put your hands on it. Optics cut from the factory, they send you the optic plate for free, it takes glock sights, changeable backstraps. It's simply can't be beat for 600$

I have to admit, I’m late to the firearms arena. As far as handguns. I bought a PPQ after exhaustive video reviews and research. The trigger is amazing. I’m pretty accurate with it, and I’ll give Nutnfancy props: he sold me on this gun. So I bought it.

I'm a Glock guy but this will make me leave. Saying that why doesn't Glock everrrrrr do any real upgrades or changes ? Walther just hit it out of the park.

I use the 4” version as my edc. It’s the perfect gun for me. Holosun 507C makes it so accurate. Love the trigger and the grip. Better than my glocks, but find what’s best for you!

So apart from the Grip and the cool looking slide tell me again what is so special apart from the PPQ again? Not everyone wants a Red dot but to me this looks like Walther's rebuttal to the Glock MOS? Sorry I will never sell my PPQ's I have 4 of them.

Walther fan here, but it’s funny how Walther claims that lip on the front bottom of the grip was designed to help acquire the red dot faster when it’s the same lip that was on the ppq lol. Marketing has no shame. Luckily the PDP needs no marketing as it pretty much markets itself, especially after shooting it

Another excellent review: just checked GB pricing- lord they must be made of gold! With that said, I will stick with my H&K VP9.

I sold my CZs to purchase the 5" full-sized PDP and the compact 4" PDP. I got a Holosun 407c X2 on the 5" full-size pistol with XS night sights. The Compact I got came with the XS night sights, going to put a Holosun 407C X2 on this one as well. I have to say that in my opinion are better than the CZ P10s that I had. I would recommend the PDP to anyone, so far with 500 rounds through the full-size and 200 rounds through the compact, I am impressed.

Why to companies have mold stupid markings into pistols? “Full size”? Right up there with “grip zone”. Why not ‘left side’ or ‘trigger guard’?

Although only time will tell, I have heard from a mechanical engineer that the red dot milling system on the PDP would be fragile because of the lack of inertial dampening lugs for the plates. Said another way the ONLY inertial dampening for the red dot is those small mounting screws which should only be used for downward compressive force and not to dampen forward and backward inertial force.

PPQ 4.5" in .45acp is the best non-1911 i have ever shot or owned. PDP is good, need it in .45acp please.

I still love my P99 and I aquired a Q5 Match SF, but i am so interested in this one.

Can you do a video shooting the PDP frame with a PPQ slide for shits and giggles? They’re compatible.

Only problem with tapered chambers with the Walthers that I've owned is they don't always like reloads whereas my M&Ps will eat anything including powder coated cast bullets. Other than that Walthers are superb.

At the end of the review now and when you compare this to the Glock17 or another, Dollar for dollar what you get with the PDP puts the Glock to shame. Ergonimics, shootability, grip, trigger, optic ready etc etc.

I have owned the PPQ M2 for years and love it. I bought the PDP compact a week ago because it was priced at $519 +tax at my LGS. I wanted to wait for the review but for that price I couldn’t resist… I hope it comes out in the 45acp.

The grip pinky deal is all marketing. The ppq and pdp has the same grip but different stippling..

Had the full-size PDP since the initial release. Very happy with it. It has been designed around the reddot and shines there. This is the first hand gun I have purchased that wasn’t a Glock. No regrets. It is very well balanced. The appearance in size is an illusion in actual weight and balance. It has Glock sight compatibility…….Amazing, the price is less than value by at least $75.

I don't dislike the replacement and I think it looks pretty good. But the one I want is the first gen ppq with the original paddle mag release. Its my much preferred option over push button.

Love the PDP. Trigger is great for range shooting, reset is so short I have to guard against double tap. Put a steel guiderod in, nit sure why Walther uses plastic rod.

Not sure if anyone carries a PDP for concealed carry, but I've been carrying PPQ 5 inch in a vertical roto shoulder holster by Craft Holsters for about 3 years during the colder months in Vegas (November thru March). If you want to carry the PDP concealed, I'd definitely look to the same holster

Saw some actual chrono data, the PDP didn't show a significant increase in velocity with any of the loads they tested.
