Brilliant moveset concept and I would personally love to see him as DLC, there's just one thing I would add, when another character wins instead of clapping he would look angry and mouth the word "Cheater".

I really like your idea of having Waluigi's moveset be based on the Tennis games alone. He already wields his tennis racket in his assist trophy appearance, so I think it's quite plausible. I really like this idea of Waluigi in smash. I really hope Waluigi gets in smash one day. Even if it could be a DLC in Ultimate, that will be extremely excellent. Here's my ideas for what Waluigi can do in smash (I even send this to Nintendo of America on February 5, 2019): Alternate Costumes: Option #1: ***Remember, Reggie mains Waluigi as his character, and he also likes the memes of Waluigi, even the Nintendo company likes him and wanted him playable in smash. I may not know what Sakurai's relationship with Waluigi is because Sakurai had a plushy of Waluigi, on one hand, but he also judged that Waluigi would be "too powerful" in smash (But hey, we though that Bayonetta was powerful, but she still has some weaknesses of her own too. That music is only for Mario villains, and Waluigi was also one of the main villains in the Mario universe. Option #2: Waluigi should have the same victory music as Wario does after all of the smash games he's been in. Plus, he does somewhat live in the Wario universe too. Maybe Nintendo can even make a game of Wario and Waluigi working together in their adventures, or even Waluigi having his own game. Either way, this is another choice acceptable for Waluigi. Option #3: Waluigi should get victory music from the spin-offs he has been in. Some would be a victory music from Mario Kart: Double Dash! ; when he's in first place, a victory music from Mario Party 8; when he wins a mini game, or even a victory music from Mario Sports Mix when his team entirely won the game. I really like this, but some of his moves seem cloned (Up B, and down B). However, if you coupled this concept with the one in the video, I think it could be AMAZING (I really like his Wah neutral B though)
To be honest, I always thought Waluigi was never made playable as a self-aware nod to him always getting the short end of the stick. And while I don't think they'll add him to Ultimate despite fan outcry, and him having the tennis outfit as his default is odd, I do think the idea of him representing Mario Tennis is pretty unique and pretty damn cool. It'd definitely set him apart without making him just be a collage of spinoff titles, and I feel like it'd be the best thing they could do besides giving him a Smash-original moveset
The "Showtime" Final Smash is a good choice, but I think his Final Smash would be the Negativity Zone, Luigi's Final Smash from Brawl, because Waluigi has been rejected in the smash series 3 times. Btw, I love the character concept, very creative 👍
I had made my own concept on paper for Waluigi for a possible future video, and I think it’s cool how little yours compared. It’s very creative how you used Tennis as a base move set.
I thought this was gonna be another shitty meme or a poorly thought out move speculation video. But this turned out to be one of the most well thought out Waluigi in Smash videos I’ve ever seen. Congrats man. Love the whole tennis themeing it sounds like it would play great.
My idea for Waluigi was giving him a moveset based on his unique features, or at least those he shares with the fewest. His neutral special is Dirty Trick, where he pulls out a Bomb-Omb item for quick use, based on how he is often shown holding them in the Kart games. His side special is Vacuum Orb, where he uses the Vacuum Orb item from the Mario Party series to pull in and flinch opponents for a quick combo, or blast them away with good knockback. His up special is the air swimming mentioned in the video, but acting more like Pac-Man's side special, where Waluigi swims once upward, then another direction depending on input and then latter again to finish it. His down special is Wall-uigi!, where he sprouts thorny vines around him that damage foes that come into contact with them, creating his own stage hazard. This is based of his special ability in Super Mario Strikers. His final smash is Thorny Waluigi, his super move from Strikers Charged, where he jumps in the air, swings around a spiked whip and blasts 5 footballs into the stage, one after the other in quick succession. As is Waluigi's entire thing, this moveset lets him play dirty by bringing in his own items, mess up opponents movement, giving himself great recovery and even control parts of the stage.
This moveset idea is one of the best ideas for his moveset in smash! You did amazing on this and if this actually happens I hope some of these attacks and animations are used.
I still think Waluigi’s final smash should be the return of Negative Zone. Being that he’s way more second fiddle than Luigi and the final boss of the Mario DDR game
About Toadette having a moveset based on her spinoff appearances: I figured she would simply be a skin or Echo Fighter to Captain Toad, who would have a moveset inspired by his own game (and the mini-games that inspired it).
I mean it does feel bad but if he gets in there will be a war and We’ve seen from Twitter that Sakurai has a personal vendetta against waluigi I like waluigi but everytime I talked about him not being in smash there’s always that kid that immediately tells me to go kill myself
His Final Smash should be like Mega Mans and we should see him sending the player to the Spider Verse and all the different Spider Man incarnations attack the player

Personally, I think his outfit with overalls should be his default because that’s what he wears in literally almost every game he’s in, and the Tennis outfit as his alternate look since he only wears that outfit in one game. Otherwise, everything about your idea for his moveset is great!
Honestly, I would want to keep all the tennis balls the same color. Instead of worrying about getting balls mixed up, Waluigi and Waluigi-hat Kirby would be able to play off each other’s balls, much in the same way that Wario can pick up other Wario’s bikes. Also this would allow us to play a mean game of tennis just for fun LOL
I love the moveset you had for Waluigi, honestly. While I'd personally have included references to various Mario spin- offs for the specials, I had been thinking about Waluigi having a predominately Tennis Racket based moveset for the rest of Waluigi's moves after seeing another Waluigi concept video the other day. And, realistically, I think your idea is better than my idea of "all the Melee stuff is kicking or a tennis racket, but the specials take from various spin-offs" as it really fleshes out the interesting gimmick of Waluigi fighting like you're playing a Mario Tennis game. And Waluigi has been my most wanted character since Brawl. I was super bummed when Waluigi didn't make the cut in Smash 4, partly due to none of my most wanteds making the roster there, but with Smash Ultimate, I was more than okay not getting Waluigi. Partly because I better tempered my expectations, so I didn't expect Waluigi to be a shoo-in, and partly because I got three of my five most wanted fighters in the forms of Ridley, K. Rool, and Incineroar. All that was left from that list were Shovel Knight and Waluigi, and Shovel Knight I didn't think would even appear in Ultimate period, so I was super happy Shovel Knight got in at all. But back to the matter at hand, I totally agree Waluigi is an inevitability for the roster. I'd love it if Waluigi could be promoted to playable as part of Ultimate's DLC, as I feel the solution is a lot simpler than people think- Waluigi's being used as a playable fighter? Then the Waluigi Assist Trophy is removed from rotation. Waluigi nowhere to be found? Then an Assist Waluigi still is. There's no need to remove Waluigi when other Assist characters don't show up when certain conditions are in place, like Palkia isn't able to appear from a Pokeball if on Spear Pillar, so I see no reason Waluigi can't have the same scenario, especially since Ditto exists, and that turns EVERY fighter into an Assist, when you think about it. HOWEVER, before you say anything, I don't expect Waluigi to be in the DLC at all. Maybe if a wave 2 happens or a ballot 2 happens, it could have potential to happen. But honestly, I'm pretty sure Waluigi's gonna have to wait for the next Smash game to be made playable. But when the next Smash rolls around, I think Waluigi is a near lock for the roster. After all, the fan outcry for Waluigi was bonkers this time around, and I fully agree with the mentality Waluigi is the new Ridley. The one character people rally around (ha) partly because a lot of people like the goofball and a lot of people also feel like the arguments against Waluigi are just weak and don't do anything to discredit Waluigi's chances, at least that's how I understand it. I fall in both camps, as I'm a big fan of Waluigi, and I also like to support underdog characters people always deny entry to Smash for some dumb reason or another like Ridley, K. Rool, Banjo, and still with Waluigi. So I say this moveset gets a hearty Wah out of me and here's hoping for some point in the future that Waluigi gets included in the roster. And if not... Well, hey, at least there's no shortage of spin-offs to play as Waluigi in. ...Though I seriously would prefer it happening, since Waluiig's the last character I actually seriously want, so if that could happen, I'd be over the moon.
I have to admit, I'm not a supporter of Waluigi but you managed to make a pretty interesting move set for him. If Nintendo did something like this I wouldn't mind too much, but there are still a lot of other characters I'd prefer over Waluigi. Also, his Neutral B seems extremely similar to the Wii Fit Trainer's Header.
as much as i haven't made any ideas for waluigi's standard, air, or grab attacks, i did think of ideas for what waluigi's special attacks would be like based off the spin-off games he's in, and a custom final smash. standard special: waluigi throws a dice block at opponents(to reference mario party games). the dice block can act like Mr. game and watch's side special where its random choice, 1=5%, 2=10%, 3=15%, 4=20%, 5=25%, and 6=30% in damage. side special: waluigi drives a go-kart around the stage (to represent the mario kart series), which acts like wario's motorcycle, but if driven off stage, or recovering from the top corners of the blast zone and then back to stage, a paraglider pops out of the go-kart which gives waluigi the opportunity to keep on driving on stage or a chance for waluigi to jump out and recover. up special: waluigi can use whirluigi (to represent mario power tennis, or mario DDR) to spin around on ground or in the air, which also can hit opponents multiple times when using the attack. down special: waluigi uses a tennis racket (to represent the mario tennis games)to either counter attack opponents, or reflect projectiles, which is similar to palutena's down special. final smash: waluigi swims in mid-air towards opponents which brings them to a field of bob-ombs, and then waluigi activates a barrage of bullet bill launcher that shoots at the field of bob-ombs, which then causes a massive explosion that can send multiple opponents flying off stage if they are damaged enough.

The trailer should be where bowser and the koopalings fighting mario, luigi and wario (in classic outfit) in a tennis court. Then Wauligi is featured in the shadows and says "Waluigi Time", and mario, luigi and wario (in classic outfit) get cornered by bowser and the koopalings.....then suddenly waluigi serves a tennis ball at bowser's head, and then jumps out of the shadows and gets in front of the mario bros and wario. And wario says "b-bro?" and then wauligi gives them a thumbs up and shows some of wauligi's moveset (this one) and then it turns cinematic scene where the mario and wario bros go up against the koopalings and bowser!
I can already imagine the intro, white background, you see an assist trophy but can’t see what’s inside. As the cam zooms in you see waluigi struggling to get out. And then... a crack... waluigi bursts with excitement as he bursts from the assist trophy case, ready for battle!!!

Wow! When I heard you were limiting his moves to tennis racket attacks I thought it would be bland, but I sure was wrong for underestimating your creativity. This moveset is actually incredible. And I do believe that Waluigi becoming playable is within the bounds of possibility. Most likely not in Ultimate, but feasibly sometime in the future. One thing I beg to differ with is his Final Smash. Personally, I think his jetpack from Mario Sports Mix would be more fitting. But other than that, great video.
Now, I don't think this series is likely at all to get any attention from smash, but I want to bring it up maybe for people interested in fangames, as they have a wider range of potential representation. What about the angry birds series? It's a weird idea but I thought of it and it could really work. Having the main red one, simply named Red would make a genuinely unique character that would make for a very unique playstyle. Because the icon of the series is the one that doesn't have a special power, it would ideally borrow powers from some of the more obscure birds, giving other ones room to become their own, as characters like chuck have quite a few different abilities of their own across the series. Not to say red doesn't. He'll still get some things that are his own, because there is some. They even have a racing game and an rpg to refer to for some moveset potential. I'd love to hear what people conjure up for this otherworldly idea.
That is honestly a really good moveset idea. Perhaps there could be a little more representation of the other games he's appeared in, but as is the whole moveset flows together really well. I'd love to see a Waluigi at least very similar to this in Smash.
I have never watched this channel before, but as a huge fan of Waluigi, I loved it, and might continue viewing your channel. Personally, I liked the move set, but I think his side special should be his neutral, except he serves the ball instead of returning it (Unless a ball IS already in play, in which case he WILL return it) to give it more versatility. But for his side special, I'd like something not tennis based, but I'm not sure what. And fr his final smash, I like the idea of his move from Aces, but I think he should incorporate dancing, soccer, and a cart (Flame runner, personally) to have a nod to the other spin off series he's appeared in. Waluigi might also want I move that inflicts confusion (The one with stars above your head). That seems like a long shot, but it would fit his character so well. As a last thing (I'm sorry for so much feed back, just in case this sounds negative) is that because Waluigi took a more dark, and really fighter like tone in Mario Soccer Strikers, I thing one more iconic move from that (or at least a alt. skin) could be pretty cool. Thanks for reminding me of the Whirluigi. If you didn't notice, Mario, Luigi, and Wario all have a Down air where they spin, and a (back?) throw where they spin. Wario spins with his Up B and Luigi spins with his Down B. Dr. Mario Spins with his Down B and his forward throw is a singular rotation.
My one gripe is that there’s no bob-omb, which is the special item of wario/waliugi in double dash. As the item was introduced with him, it would fit well with his moveset (a bomb that could be rallied only once)

Hmm... interesting moveset there. A while back, I had attempted to do a setup for Waluigi's specials based on a challenge of keeping it as specific to him as possible. It ended up being more of a technical/control feel, which is actually a really good description for the full moveset you were able to give him. Here's what I came up with at the (Waluigi) time: Neutral B: Liar Ball- throws an eggplant as a low-knockback projectile that can have various effects on foes hit by it, such as turning them around like Mario's Cape, putting flowers on their heads, make them dizzy, etc.; based on his Special Ball in Mario Superstar Baseball and Mario Super Sluggers Side B: Whirluigi- a twirling move that surrounds him in a tornado, hitting multiple times for low damage but proportionally high hitstun, and can be used as horizontal recovery; based on his Offensive Power Shot in Mario Power Tennis Up B: Swimming Return- a purely recovery move that can be directionally influenced and continues for a short time as long as the player keeps tapping B; based on his Defensive Power Shot in Mario Power Tennis Down B: Coin Vacuum Orb- he pulls out and holds an orb that does no damage but pulls enemies toward him, can be used as a set-up move; based on his (and Wario's) unique Orb in Mario Party 7 Final Smash: Option 1- Drop Rocket: a powerful kick that acts not unlike Marth's Critical Hit, but goes down at a 45 degree angle if in the air; based on his Super Strike in Super Mario Strikers Option 2- Thorny Waluigi: he summons a long, thorny vine that he uses to whip all around the screen; based on his Mega Strike in Mario Strikers Charged Option 3- Waluigi Time!: he traps one or more opponents then unleashes a flurry of kicks while shrouded in a cartoon fight cloud, ending by launching the trapped opponents with a final, powerful kick; based on him defeating Bowser in Mario Party 3
I would have his side-special be a go-Kart, his neutral-special being a charge tennis smack that catches fire and sends a tennis ball (like your idea), his up-special being a giant jump and waggling his arms to fly, and his down-special being him dancing, giving him a special effect (Like attack up, defense up, etc.)... Also, his up-taunt will be him holding up an upside-down L on his forehead, his side-taunt being him laughing, and his down-taunt will be his famous crouch chop.
I had two visions for a Waluigi moveset a Tennis one and the Spin-off celebration one. I actually thought about the Tennis one to be much more suitable since his first appearance was in a tennis game.
I'd say his side B should be a Bobomb, as Bobomb use is one of the few traits Nintendo has actually given him. Or it could be a down B to make it function more like Link, and change Whirluigi to side b. And to differentiate it from the Bobomb item, it could be a pink Bobomb Buddy which doubles in showing Waluigis mean spirit.
They're too different, with similar mechanics like Falcon Kick, it's still a very similar move. Or you could remove Whirluigi entirely, as Luigi and Doc already have it, and since Wario doesn't have it Waluigi would match his line of thinking and not M&L
Another possible final smash could be a waluigi pinball reference. Waluigi launches a plunger and anyone hit by that ball gets put in waluigi pinball, gets run over by pinballs, and finished of with a blue shell.
So does Waluigi's Serve kinda act like Wii Fit's Side-B? And also this is one of the best Waluigi moveset I have seen. Very creative and well thought out. If I can add to this moveset what about a really small chance to pull a Bomb-omb maybe a 3/20 chance. Waluigi pulls a Bomb-omb from his pocket and tries to serve it like a tennis ball but after he whacks it, it blows up on his face and produces a Waluigi exclusive Kamikazee-ranged Bomb-omb serve.
Overall, a great moveset, once again. However, I personally feel that they should incorporate a moveset based on all of his appearances, because while it may not be special to HIM specifically, neither is a moveset like Mario's or Marth's. They all use concepts that other characters in their series have used. Hell, you could say that anything from any character could be used on another.
While I feel like you missed out on a few things like his extremely powerful kick seen in Mario Party 3, and his crotch chop as a taunt from Mario Strikers, overall, this was a good video. You had some good ideas in here. I think he should have some tennis moves in there for sure. I just don't think that's all his moveset should be based on. And while I think his Aces outfit should be an alternate costume, it shouldn't replace his default outfit as... the default outfit. His default outfit is more pleasing to look at in my opinion, and is way more recognizable.
I was kinda hoping that waluigi would use his other spin off things like during his fs he would pop up his enemies and then a bunch of waluigi shadows pop up and they all combo him representing games then he jumps up in an uppercutting pose which finishes the opponent Also I insanely pissed that the down taunt isn’t crotch chops
I have not taken the time to make a full moveset due to the fact that SSF2 will eventually release him and I might get inspiration from there. I liked your moveset a lot but I feel like those who want Waluigi in (other than being a meme) wants him to represent all the spinoffs, or at least a majority. For those looking for an alternate, here is just part of mine. Neutral Special - Mine was serve as well, although I didn't think of the rallying thing. Side special - Kart Goes into a Mario kart and drives across the same, similar to warriors motorcycle. Down Special- Moonwalk This move works very similar to Bayonetta's witch time, however, it lasts for a little less time but gives you a slight speed boost after Up Throw - Dice block Throws an opponent into a Dice block and then hits a number by chance like G&W judge. It does more knockback at a higher number, meant to be a kill throw and not a combo throw. Foward Smash- Tennis Racket Hit an opponent with your tennis racket. Final Smash- Special shot Waluigi puts everyone to sleep with his rose petals and is able to hit a very powerful tennis ball from the side that will bounce off of platforms, it would be a hard one to hit all in an 8 player smash buy you could line up your shot. For those of you who read through this completely and are about to comment "you just took moves from other characters for the most part" that's the point. When I made this moveset I was joking around but with moves being similar to other characters in my mind help symbolizes what he is in smash, a party representative, and he has moves from the party/fighting/platforming game Super Smash Bros. That's all I have for Waluigi for now. EDIT: Also his reveal would be him breaking out of an assist trophy and say "Waluigi causes a racket" bad puns for the win. Sans on the other hand...
I like most of the moves but I feel like there would need to be more punches and kicks or else a lot of the moves would look too similar. Plus, every character has some moves that use their arms or legs, even the ones who carry around weapons. It probably wouldn't be too hard considering how long and unique WL's limbs are. Edit: During his victory screen, he would NEED to say "WALUIGI NUMBER ONE" Since its one of his most iconic things to say
I think I got an even better idea for the final smash: While many characters activate their FS in a horizontal hitbox, Waluigi traps his opponents in a semi transparent ball (wait for it) that closes vertically. After that, the ball falls into the... Waluigi Pinball :)
