Hey, I'm the guy who makes the graphics/levels/designs for Midas Machine, and I wanted to say that I'm glad that you liked it. First off, don't worry, it wasn't cancelled, the issue is that theres only like... two people working on it, so it's taken a while. We are getting closer to finishing it though. One thing that is holding us back right now is music. We have some awesome people making songs, but the list is rather hefty (So if anyone out there can make music and wants to contribute...)

After all, most of those developers don't realize that there's an art to making a game challenging. It's tricky to balance fun and challenge while maintaining an extremely hard obstacle for the player to overcome, and a lot of people who try to make games hard just for the sake of being hard don't understand how that balance works.

For some reason, I've always thought it would be very interesting if there was a videogame in which Yoshi had to go on an adventure without Mario and Luigi (like, maybe they're too busy with the Toads, Koopa Troopas and Peach), and Yoshi's companions for some reason end up being Wario and Waluigi instead. A sort of hypothetical "dump them together and see what happens" scenario is the basic idea - and the three have to journey together alone and make it work. Anyway, this idea amuses me and I think it would make a cool game.

I've genuinely never understood why Nintendo doesn't include Wario and especially Waluigi into more Mario (or Paper Mario) games to give them some stronger characterization. Waluigi has been around for what? 15-plus years now and he still has no real character traits? I'd really love to see a Mario game where Bowser fucked with both pairs and then they both want revenge and reluctantly work together. Seems such a waste for Walu to exist if they never do anything with him. A "Paper Wario" game could also be a good chance to further characterize them since it would inherently allow for more dialogue. Not to mention could also be a fun way to add some freshness to the Paper series by seeing things from a nw perspective.

Waluigi isn't a villain. Straight out, he is just some guy that Wario knows who enjoys playing games.

I think it would be a cool idea to add Wario and Waluigi to a Mario & Luigi title, utilizing a control scheme similar to Partners in Time.

We still need to see a game off of Luigi's adventures in the background of Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, though. I don't care what anybody says, NINTENDO NEEDS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.
