Elizabeth, Paul and Kathryn are all already SUCH amazing actors but they all turned up their performances to an 11 on this episode. Also huge shout out to Asif Ali as "Norm" that switch from real him to fake him was SOOO good that scene has gotta be on the mans demo reel for the foreseeable future
Also, it was confirmed a long time ago that the only Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch alive in the 189996 Universes comprising the MCU, the FoxU, and in between, were the FoxU Quicksilver and the MCU Scarlet Witch.
Love how you were feeling like crap then once you got into the episode the endorphins kicked in and you went back to your old self. Screaming and cursing! You always crack our shit up, Sesska. 🤣 Feel better. 💜💙
Possibly because of Wanda's phrasing when talking about Quicksilver triggered the "recast." Not a theory. Just how her OTHER set of comic powers beyond what the MCU has shown so far works. Wanda was dead in the FoxU, and Speedsters breach the multiverse the entire time. Wanda just increased the likelihood of that happening. This Version of Quicksilver is the Earth-10,005 version. The MCU is Earth-199,999. That means there are over 189,994 Universes between them. The Quicksilver that was "far away," but not dead. Fun Fact: Quicksilver is currently dead in 10,006-199,998, and was dead in 199,999, until Wanda pulled the one from 10,005 through. He was the closest one. Also not the first time she did this. Wanda-616 (Main Comics) brought Quicksilver-615 (Retro Comics) "Forward in time" to undo his death, but it was later revealed to be a hole in the Multiverse that she utilized to pull one in to replace the other.
@@mrj4082 When something enters or exits through the barrier that sword doesn't send the red alert goes off. She invoked Quicksilver, but there were at least 15 minutes, if not more, between then and when Earth-10,005 Quicksilver showed up in the Hex, So, I'm thinking that he showed up in the MCU right when she lied and said he was alive, but "far away." and then followed the Mximoff connection right through the barrier where he immediately fits the cool uncle trope needed for the 90's episode.
If there are REALLY Mephisto involved... It might be he. Turned into Pietro to manipulate Wanda's brotherly feelings. In the comics children was born by part of Mephisto's soul and if we look closely for the all episodes all "characters" pushes Wanda to think about kids. And when situation comes bad - demon can go in the barrier to take care about it by himself (Sorry for bad English)
"Lagos - For when you make a mess but didn't mean to." Sound familiar? This line is EXACTLY about what Wanda did lifting the Hydra guy in the air and letting him explode there, killing others in that building.
@@drimms8060 ill be honest, I'd forgotten all about lagos but as we were spoon fed a reminder earlier in the show I find it hard to believe that people didn't get it.
Hope you feel better soon, Jess. Your reaction upon recognizing Evan Peters was priceless. My own imagination is going a mile a minute with the possible ramifications of his appearance. Can't wait to see where this goes!
All those Sword agents around and now we have mutant Quicksilver. Who else is half expecting Magneto to rock up in the finale? “You humans and your guns”
I am totally expecting Magneto at this point. It would make a LOT of sense (Magneto is himself Omega level and could take on Wanda). Maybe sent from the FOX universe by Xavier to stop his daughter from this reality from unraveling the fabric of the entire multiverse.
@ Magneto can't handle magic being used against him, not by himself. You can't defeat Wanda with pure power, not when she's fully aware of her abilities. A person like Wanda would have to be defeated with either pure emotional and intellectual reasoning, or a combination of reasoning and power. Magneto would never stand a chance against Wanda at her finest or at her worst.
Imagine Peter's surprise when he actually wakes up and realizes he has been plucked from his dimension from some other force and placed there. Meaning, whoever did that is going to probably have either purposefully brought others to our world or accidentally. The multiple spidermen in the next spiderman movie, and the multiverse of madness too.
YES!! When Norm said "She's in my head" I also thought he wasn't really reffering to Wanda. Maybe he was talking about Agnes (I don't trust her at all) or someone we don't know yet.
It feels like Agnes is manipulating Wanda and trying to 'grow up' the boys. She shows up, the twins go from babies to 5 y.o.s, she gives Sparky, another 5 years, takes Sparky, and Wanda has to tell them NOT to grow older. It's all about the twins.
I'm thinking Dotty. Especially since she's the supposed "key" to the neighborhood, and in the scene with the radio she said "I don't believe you" before the radio started calling out for Wanda.
I don't trust Agnes but I think she's a red herring. She was asking Wanda if they wanted to take the scene from the top. Why would she need to ask Wanda if she's doing it all?
@@mydavegabicycle While Wanda is in control to a point with her powers, Agnes is like a director telling her what to do. Whomever is behind Agnes (Mephisto?), that's the one using Wanda like a puppet (but not the Puppet Master).
@@Skeezer66 not sure as why would a director ask Wanda to take it from the top and seem confused? I think Agnes might be scared of Wanda too. But yeah, maybe Agnes is sort of like the big bad's assistant. She is trying to make things run smoothly, but she also has to deal with the diva Main Star. She wasn't hiding the restart request from Wanda. She knows way more than she says but is also at the mercy of both Wanda and whoever is pulling the strings.
@@johans3164 Maybe the real villain of this show. It would be a perfect reveal imo. She menyioned he isn't very interested in her and is a simple guy, maybe a disguise.
Something cool to point out since I believe you reacted to Haunting of Hill House... the actor who plays Billy in Wandavision is the same kid who plays the young version of Luke in Hill House!
Might I point out, her phrasing when talking about Quicksilver triggered the "recast." Not a theory. Just how her OTHER set of comic powers beyond what the MCU has shown so far works.
@@mbpoblet Another Universe entirely. This Version of Quicksilver is the Earth-10,005 version. The MCU is Earth-199,999. That means there were over 189,994 Universes between them. Also the sitcom decade is up to the 80’s, and the X-men franchise she pulled quicksilver from took place in 70’s and 80’s timeline, so maybe that effected the multiverse version of him that was pulled into the shows universe? Might be a coincidence, but it’s an interesting one.
Or her power just created him from another Westview resident, and they just decided to cast the same guy to fuck with us. Neither Quicksilver had that accent before.
Regarding Vision taking a while to clue in, they said in the episode that they've been in the Hex no more than nine days. That was when she took Vision's body.
When Wanda comes out to face S.W.O.R.D. the scene, she said: "I'm not the one pointing the gun here". This is maybe a subtle reference meaning she been controlled as she also said in the final scene that she doesn't know how this all begins. Secondly, I think the Aerospace Engineer is Riri Williams a.k.a. IRONHEART!
Somebody on Twitter pointed out (& mad props to them) that it makes sense to be this Pietro, as they are in the 80's. 🤯 As to the allergies: We all know you have nobody to blame but yourself, as we have told you (many a time) that licking armadillos will have that effect on you (but Noooooooooooooooo you like the colour of the sound they make, while being licked). 😉🤪 Now. If you will excuse me: Herbert (the ultraviolet flamingo in the room next door) has just noticed I took somebody else's meds this evening. Again. 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
Wanda is going to need serious help after this. Sure there’s Doctor Strange, but if only there was someone who knows how hard it is to control power and just happens to have a school that teaches others how to control their own power. A professor perhaps...
Literally the most intense TV episode I have ever seen! Although I haven't seen loads. You uploaded the minute I finished watching it too! I'm so nervous for the later episodes.
I’m sorry you are not feeling well but I’m glad you posted. Your videos make me so happy. I found you when I was working in another state and missing my family. thank you for everything you do. It’s appreciated
As an avid comics reader, I saw this coming a mile off - from the time they first announced the series. Wanda is a reality warper - basically what the reality stone was, but she has natural control over reality. She doesn't know how to control her powers in the MCU yet, but in the comics she was (and still is to a certain extent) one of the most powerful entities in the multiverse. In the comics she did something very similar to this, except on a much much larger scale. She warped the entire universe to be what she wanted. Her father (Magneto) as ruler. She was married to vision, with twins - same as here. At the end of that comic, she basically had a mental breakdown when confronted with the idea that her children weren't real, and she literally whispered "no more mutants" and removed the powers from almost every mutant in the MULTIVERSE. Things are about to get very weird. She absolutely could've taken Thanos without the gauntlet. I'll be interested to see where they take this and if they diverge from the comics.
Thor literally failed twice, though. The second time he didn’t even come close. Cap had to save him. Tony only won because he got the stones. Yeah, raw power alone, it’s Wanda or Carol.
@@ninjanibba4259 You could argue Tony because he snapped,, but Steve never came close at any point. Thor on the other hand buried an axe in his chest and later beheaded the guy. All Captain Marvel did was give him a quick beating so I don't know why she was included in the almost killed Thanos club.
@@UltimateKyuubiFox When did Captain Marvel come close to killing him. I'll admit Thanos struggled but she needed the Avengers to back her up on Titan and got bitch slapped with the power stone. Sure she gave him a beating but we're talking about killing him here. Oh, and the second time Thor chopped his head off so I don't know what you're on about.
Was really looking forward to your reaction on this one, Jess. Great job! The most interesting thing I found in this one is it hovers right on the edge of making it an addiction storyline and I see why. Wanda definitely seems addicted to the power she has to change things. And yeah, when she goes full Witch Mode she's terrifying.
I just thought of a dark theory about what's going on in Westview. What if everybody in Westview is dead, including the kids? Maybe Wanda and Vision conceived twins before he died, but they couldn't survive because of a clash between her inhuman DNA in his synthezoid DNA. In her grief, she had a version of her "no more mutants" moment from House of M, but instead killed everyone in the town of Westview. In her denial to accept what she had just done, and to prevent a repeat of the Lagos incident, she created this false reality to keep everyone alive.
Fun fact! The actor that played Billy as a 10-year-old also played young Luke in Hill House! I didn't recognize him at first because of the lack of glasses, but he confirmed it in an Instagram post!
Great episode. Vision’s doubt, Wanda’s standoff with SWORD, the ending reveal, all so epic! Although I do have to say, as much as I disagree with the director guy wanting to jump straight to killing Wanda, a known hero, Monica saying “it could’ve been thousands more” as a defense for Wanda’s actions is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard lol. Like sure, the murderer killed a whole family... but he could’ve killed TWO families and that makes it better. Or something.
I think she meant it along the lines of "there must be a reason why she is self-quarantining". Like there must be some reason why she's keeping it to that space (and seeing as it's been strongly implied Wanda has no knowledge of how she's doing this, it might also imply Monica believes there's something beyond Wanda's control happening).
Did you notice in the recap (you didn’t show it in this video edit) Wanda changes her dialog so when Vision asks where Geraldine was she said “she didn’t belong here” or something along those lines instead of “she left, honey”
All I have is that Darcy said there was a lot of radiation from the Big Bang around and I thought that someone was trying to bring back the Infinity Stones... but damn! Anyway, did you notice that when Wanda left the hex she was wearing her Avengers outfit and her accent was back? Totally Gobsmacked
This episode had more WTF moments than the previous episodes combined. Great reaction vid. And no worries, I'm a semi-professional spoiler avoider. Been practicing ever since some kid spoiled the Vader/Luke's father twist as he was walking out of the theater and I was in line for the next showing. It's been 40 years and I still remember that kid's face. 😡 Hope you feel better soon! 🤧
Remember how Wanda said she had no control over her kids and their powers? What if since Wanda seems pretty truthful about not knowing who was at the door and she talked about her brother to the twins who don't have the ability to bring living things from the dead so when they tried to bring her brother where they were because as far as they knew he was only "far far away" they basically kidnapped the x-men version of quicksilver from his universe into their own and he got brainwashed by the hex? That's my favorite theory so far my other assumption is that it's Mephisto brainwashing wanda and pretending to be her brother and just so happened to choose an excellent form But, I'd think it would be really cool if the first one was true because then I'd hope for a scene where we get vision awakening Quicksilver and he just starts freaking out and asking where the X-Men are
Hope you feel better soon Jess. What you said about people posting spoilers at the end is so true. I moderate the comments for another reaction channel and it drives me nuts.
It's like Darcy said, she recast Pietro. It's like she said, she can't reverse death (yet?). I'm assuming she was able to bring back Vision because he's a machine so his nature isn't as definite. I think she unconsciously reached out for her brother and somehow summoned a Pietro from an alternate reality. Did you catch the alarm that indicates a breach in the hex as Pietro showed up? Suggesting he showed up from outside of it. I definitely agree there's more to this story. I don't think Wanda is fully in control. There's a side to this we haven't seen yet.
You don't need to apologize for being sick. Also, this show is wild and I love it. I wonder if the "recast" was whoever trying to distract Wanda. The reason for the "recast" is because he/she can't bring back the dead, but they can bring a Pietro from another universe in
So crazy theory say SWORD threw Pietro's corpse into the Hex and since he isn't born until 89 it changed it into the 80s version of Pietro that exists, that being from the X-Men films so maybe as time moves on he could start reverting to Aaron Taylor Johnson? and thinking on it now the alarms in the SWORD base are going off during the reveal so could that mean something just got thrown in...
Running theory about Quicksilver is that Wanda (or whatever force is responsible) couldn't bring her Pietro back, and that grabbing one from another universe was the best they could do.
WHAT IF: The Quicksilver we saw was not the Quicksilver we know from XMEN movies. I suspect he is either mephisto or a civilian who happens to look like Quicksilver from XMEN movies. Mephisto has been hinted in a few places and is in the marvel comics.
@@BoydofZINJ If he wasn't intended to be the Quicksilver from the X-Men movies (who first appeared in the eighties, the same period this episode within an episode is set in) they could have easily cast _literally anyone else_ (especially Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who would be the obvious choice for someone posing as Pietro in order to deceive Wanda); the only possible reason to cast Evan Peters is because of his role in the Fox films, anything else would be unnecessarily confusing. (Plus, we know the multiverse is the focus of this phase of the MCU, or at least the next Spider-Man and Doctor Strange films, and this is the _perfect_ way to kickstart the whole thing, especially given that Wanda will be an important character in the later.)
My gosh, yo are so sick! Seriously, rest up and get well. Never seen your energy like this. Hope you get well soon. Hang in there and thanks again for the content!
Wanda's Pietro is dead. She told her kids she cannot reverse death and given how Vision seems to be an animated corpse rather than actually alive, that seems to be true. So - when she talked about Pietro, whatever controls the Hex - her subconsciousness or Agnes or whatever - brought A Quicksilver to her from another reality instead of reanimating her brother. Thus opening the possibility for more crossovers, once that frontier is opened. Especially as both the next Dr. Strange (starring Wanda) and the next Spiderman seem to heavily rely on alternate realities from what we know about them.
Vision says he has no memory of life before Westview. So he seemingly doesn't even know about Ultron. I wonder if he thinks he was a baby once like in the pictures in the intro. His entire personality and memories are created by Wanda.
I watch the episode and think how the house resembles the "Family Ties" house, a show I grew up watching. Then I watch your videos and see the mirror image and I freak out because it's exactly the same. A mirror image!
I understand the allergies 🤧 at the beginning of the video. When you get out of bed, one minute you feel normal and the next minute your allergies starts kicking you. Tea ☕️ is also the best answer to allergies
18:45 No. Norm said "she" he said she's in his head and that it hurts. Rambeau also said she heard her voice inside her head and we assumed she meant Wanda because in the context at the time she must have meant Wanda, but it could also be someone pretending to be Wanda inside these people's heads. They may not know and her voice could sound distorted in their heads but she's the only one exhibiting strange mental powers so why would it not be her? I think "Ralph" is the one controlling everyone. Agnes is his primary assistant and together they did some sort of pact with Wanda before wiping her memory of it. They give Wanda this idyllic fantasy and in return they get to siphon off her power.
such a good episode, I dont read the comics but a huuuge MCU fan so I dont really know the original story and dont want to know. I knew Evan Peters was doing this show but I totally didnt connect the Quicksilvers and this was a total shock. Really well done! Loving this show.
Oh. Also. Allergies. I'm getting it too. Here in North Texas it's four days after Groundhog Day and like sixty degrees outside. Plantlife is very confused right now and my nose is picking up on their confusion. Premature hay fever i got it too. Right there with ya, sis.
Those are definitely her kids, their Speed and Wiccan. And she's definitely being taken advantage of. And the only thing that could have made the Evan Peter's Quick Silver part better was if he said YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!!! It was what he and Hawkeye were saying and it would've meshed with the sitcom comedy perfectly.
That version of pietro being here makes me agree that some bigger is involved. Like true enough wanda has been busy but she didn't even know that version of her brother existed. If she was going to bring one back it would have been the one she knew. So whoever did this not only knows other worlds exist but is capable of taking people from them and dropping them in this one
It's not really explained in the movies, but in the comics Wanda's powers are tied to her words, basically what she says becomes true, not necessarily what she means and here she told the twins her brother was "far away" instead of dead because she was trying to sugarcoat it for them, she may have opened a portal to another dimension and taken a different Pietro Maximof into her world without even realising.
I think the CRDM radiation in Westview has given Monica her powers like in the comics, and possibly once the reality breaks at the end of the show, it could leak out into the world and create the Mutants!! Also I lost it at the end, love Evan Peters, but i really don't think its Pietro, his version of the character was called "Peter" anyway, and the way he did a weird sort of "...yeah sure....if you like" nod when Wanda said his name seemed SUS!. I think he's Mephisto or Nightmare, and he shows up just when Wanda begins to question the reality "I don't know how all this started" !
My theory is the Quicksilver actor thing is down to the show within the show, I think that Evan Peters is playing him because his X-Men movies were set in the 70's & 80's just like Westview is. Then when/if the show catches up to the modern day he'll suddenly be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson again.
Great reaction I honestly think Wanda isn’t controlling everyone, Norm said stop her, she’s In my head, I think it’s Agnes, also Wanda looked genuine when she told Vision she didn't know what he was talking about, also there was real shock in her face when x-men Pietro(possibly multiverse stuff or just a real villain faking as Pietro) was at the door Also the commercial was for Lagos, that was the name of the Nigerian City at the beginning of Civil War when Wanda accidentally blows up a building so the commercial is trolling her when it says “Lagos, for when you make a mess you didn’t mean to” Also as far as Wanda taking Visions body, I think seeing Vision was being taken apart, that Director Hayward was trying to figure out how Vision worked so he could turn him into a weapon Also I think the reason Monica’s tests were messed up is because the radiation from going in and than out of Westview and I think it could give her powers
