Can it grow in north india,the winter temperatures in my areas touches 0 ° C and in summer reaches 40-42°C

Maples do not grow in India sadly.

Acer campbellii, Also known as Campbell's Maple are native to North India.

Maple does grow in India but it will adapt well in Himalayan regions of India, where temperature seldom crosses 30 degrees Celsius in the summer. I have Sugar Maple, Acer Rubrum October glory and celebration that I got from North Carolina and they are thriving here, at an elevation between 3500 feet msl to 5600 feet msl I have Japanese maple varieties too and they look stunning during Autumn. I'm from Sikkim.

@@keshavtyagi948I have few Japanese ones go through 46 degrees heat wave with harsh winds. They survived in shade, leaves burnt a bit. Pruning is required for those leaves now as it won't grow new ones unless that's done. How this helps!

just planted a 12 ft october maple. and a month later the leaves are drying up it said to water it once a week. i’ve been putting about 4 gallons on it every other do or so. too much or not enough water. ??

Are you in Australia? As it is a deciduous tree so it will be dropping it's leaves for winter.

Leh Ladakh will be perfect weather wise but since the air is dry it will.need good amount of watering, as of Leh Ladakh, Poplars and birch do really well. Maples should do very well there too but will need good watering, Kashmir region on the other hand has a very good climate and soil profile for Maples.
