Taking apart a model bus can be costly if you get it wrong. Watch how to break down an EFE double decker

We've got an EFE bus on Dylington and have been wondering how to tackle taking apart so we can add a driver and some passengers. Well, now we've watched this we may have a go at it... Cheers James 🙂👍

@StBlazeyModelWorld thank you for offering us help if we need it. The bus project will certainly happen at some point, I have got some seated passengers to paint. So once I get round to painting them, I'll have a go at adding them 🙂👍

Ahh, our little friends and relatives can do all sorts of damage. There are places who make mirrors, wipers and other detailing parts - email me if you are unsure about those. stblazeymodelworld@gmail.com There are more videos on the channel about model buses. Thanks for viewing and taking the time to leave a comment

Hi. I recently managed to get one of the red efe BEA routemaster’s and luggage trailer for a cheap price and I’m planning on making it into one of the blue early ones as a code 3 project but I’m in need of some advice. Unknown to me when I got it for a really good price the seller had not mentioned it didn’t have a tow hitch. And I was wondering if you knew what would be the best way to make a replacement as I feel it’s a big part of the model. Thanks in advance

Hello and thank you for your question. I am unsure about the RMA range in detail, I do not own one myself. I did just have a quick look at it on the web. It looks like tricky thing to recreate however if the model is going to be in bits I might try using part of a large size paperclip in some way. Regarding your project, did you mean the BEA livery? If so that model is available as 36201, link here from Modelzone: www.modelbuszone. .uk/efe/dd/156/36201.html If I can help further please do not hesitate to get in touch

@@StBlazeyModelWorldthanks for your reply. I didn’t think of a paper clip but that could work really well. The model I have is actually 36202 but I plan on making it the same colours as 36201 as quite frankly I barely see them for sale. This could also give me the chance to make other changes to the model like a more detailed interior as I’d like to add luggage racks like the real things. Thanks

Useful and helpful, just stripped down my first! You mention a source for the EFE style plastic roof rod plugs - can you remember the name of the supplier? I know I could bodge something but a ready made replacement would be easier.

I'm wanting to paint a model bus at the moment but I want to know. Without damaging the plastic circular cubes , is there any other way to take it out?
@StBlazeyModelWorld
@StBlazeyModelWorld Месяц назад
They can be prized out using a very fine pick tool but usually get damaged in removal. Sadly, I am not aware of anyone who sells replacement clips these days. In the past I used to glue the models back together because I always removed the interior poles as well. Please avoid the use of superglue though if you go with this option. The fumes from such glues are really strong and they attack the plastic glass units, causing them to haze out and prevented from being clear and see through. I hope that reply helps to some extent. Many thanks for viewing and asking a question :)

Hello could I have some advice I’d like to change the logo on one of my buses but don’t want to repaint it any advice thanks in advance
@StBlazeyModelWorld
@StBlazeyModelWorld Год назад
Logos are usually applied with Tampo printing. I made a video about it sometime ago. It can be found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-40e1SrO0oUU.html

Hi from St. Ives, C'wall. Very interesting video. You mention you can buy new "clips" to secure the chassis into the body. Can you give any clues as where I can look to buy some. Many thanks.
