Coaches approach their work with vulnerability, curiosity, and caring, and these habits of mind and ways of working have broad implications for how teachers, students, and citizens can mindfully approach their work. Jacy Ippolito is an associate professor and department chair of secondary and higher education at Salem State University. Jacy's work focuses on the intersection of professional learning, literacy instruction, and leadership in schools. His recent books include Disciplinary Literacy Inquiry and Instruction, An UnCommon Theory of School Change, and Unpacking Coaching Mindsets.
