Clone Wars is exactly what Star Wars is. Life in the stars. With adventures, drama, relationships that intertwine. Not some Hollywood mash up of crap. With every race needing a representative like it's the UN or something. Entertainment is just meant to be entertaining. When stories were told around a campfire. No one said this guy is Oriental, this girl is Asian and this other guy is African American. They were just people.

It also shows a general lack of familiarity with Star Wars as a whole. Even putting aside its real world basis, the Force is a naturally occurring phenomenon that is present everywhere and in everyone to at least some degree with no biases or prejudices. As a force of nature it doesn't discriminate based on race, gender, sexual preference, religion, politics, etc. It simply exists in and around everything. Not everyone is born with the ability to connect to it on a deep enough level to develop special powers, but there's no limitations on who can be born with it. It's basically an ideal symbol of equality in that regard. She took a completely neutral force that innately treats anyone and everyone as equals and said "No , no, this is about women."

For me the first massive warning sign was the ridiculous decision to outright ignore the Expanded Universe altogether. Sure it was never truly Canon to begin with. But Lucas himself acknowledged quite a bit of it. He never just flat out ignored it and treated it as if didn't exist to him.

We’ve seen like in his prime and we saw him at his lowest point. But in the end he returned to his prime, it showed how much of a beacon of hope Luke was and how strong he was. He went from brushing of the idea of facing off against the first Order to doing that exact thing. Its the perfect send off, with Luke facing the student he couldn’t save and in the process saving the resistance.

We also get no explanation as to how snoke was even manipulating kylo, or why luke didnt try to help him as that was why Leia sent him to luke in the first place. He also gets beaten by rey in a fight, he fails to teach her anything, is an utter asshole throughout the film, does hardly anything on his own initiative, decided to leave a map to himself depsite just wanting to die on the island and never be found. Yea sure he force projects himself at the end but he still doesnt really accomplish anything, wow the resistance escapes. It's only like 12 people now I'm sure that will make all the difference, he doesn't try to bring kylo back to the light he just insults him and the only reason his ruse works is because kylo is a god awful strategist and doesnt order for his troops to just deploy and go around luke while he fights him. Luke then dies after achieving very little in this film, having failed to teach rey much of anything, done very little to bring kylo back to the light or really damage the first order in anyway, the resistance does escape but that's partially due to kylos ineptitude. I'm pretty sure Mark Hamil walked back on his comments because disney made him not because he actually likes the film and his face at premiere is not one of a man that has just seen a fantastic movie.

@@wheeliebin18 It was slightly an exaggeration, cause there are some good scenes (Kylo and Han in both Rise of Skywalker and TFA) but other than that, it kinda sucked (Binary sunset for Luke's death was also good)

i think they would've been better off doing something completely different, look at the mandalorian, is super succesful, has no ties to the original storyline else then the setting and its great. I would have loved to see a starwars plot from the sith perspective for example.

Rey isn’t a Mary Sue, please can people stop calling her one because if she is one anyone is a Mary Sue. And forced fan service is worse than none, it would’ve been great having the three together but it doesn’t work for the characters story.

Her first encounter against Kylo she was beaten, she was almost beaten in their second fight when he was seriously injured, Snoke plays with her like a toy when they meet, then Rey barely manages to take on one of his guards while Kylo takes on 3 at once and then Kylo destroys her light Saber. Their next fight on the death star he’s winning again (keep in mind he’s not trying to kill her like in all fights, and since they last say each other a year has passed with him having no training and Rey having plenty from Leia but she still is weaker than him) until Leia distracts him and Rey stabs him. Then she almost loses against Palps until all the Jedi help and she still dies.

I agree with both. To be honest, I cannot understand anyone sharing themselves crying for any reason, especially not over a Luke Skywalker cameo...I mean, I watched Guardians 2 shortly after the death of my own father and I'm not ashamed to say that the ending make me break down, but I wouldn't film my reaction and stick it on youtube.

Yeah that was fucking badass. You see a relatively strong bounty hunter who's achieveable of many things throughout the show struggle with literally one Dark Trooper but Luke mows them down like he's cutting grass. It really contrasts how strong Jedi are compared to a mercenary or bounty hunter. Even Moff Gideon was shitting his pants when he realized who was coming.

If you tell a good story then it speaks to everyone (or nearly everyone) If you need to tell your story to specific people otherwise it's not liked, then maybe it isn't that good.

Who at this point still gives a fliyng fart about the Emmy's, The Oscar and all the other prices which are just reeking of self-adulation?
