I lie wounded, on wintery ground With hundreds of corpses, all around Many wounded, crawl helpless around On the blood, red snowy ground War! War! War! War! Cries of death - Suffering sound Cries for help, to all their dead moms War! War! War! War! Many hours, of music Many drops, of blood Many shiverings, and I am... DEAD! And still, we must never give up War! War! War! War!
Most black metal artists come from an middle class life. Especially Norway. You seem to be upset that someone from the Midwest could produce black metal, but you forget about how the American Midwest is full of the sons of German and Scandinavian immigrants.
Who the fuck cares. Burzum's War is awesome, as is Bathory's Necromansy (to a greater and more pure extent). Allow good music to build on the shoulders of "the greats". yeah?
Check out Filosofem, or generally his more atmospheric stuff. He didn't pull the rocking/thrashing black metal style as well as he did the atmospheric style.
Why do people always feel the need to say "the original is better z0mg"? It's not like the point of a cover is to try and sound better than the original.
I imagine Burzum had to contributed something, regardless of what people think. I mean, seriously, why then did Judas Iscariot do a cover of War? Great Cover! Hail Judas Iscariot!
