Awesome 👍 Someone should make this into a movie or something. I mean,, they could cast Will Smith as the Navy FA-18 Fighter Pilot Captain Steven Hiller, who shoots down the Alien fighter and drags him to be studied by Dr. Okun at Area 51, and Jeff Goldblum as the MIT satellite engineer/tech expert David Levinson who discovers the hidden Alien signal countdown and comes up with the virus. They would be amazing on screen together, wouldn't they? Smith flying the recovered Alien spacecraft back up to the Mother Ship and docking while Goldblum uploads the virus! Epic stuff! (It almost writes ITSELF!) Hell, they could even cast Randy Quaid as the eccentric, alcoholic former fighter pilot and Vietnam War veteran Russell Casse, and give him some witty catchphrase to say just before flying his FA-18 "Up Theirs." 👍🤣 Just imagine, Bill Pullman as the former Gulf War veteran fighter pilot turned President Thomas J. Whitmore, rallying the Nation and eventually the World against the invaders! He could even give a super inspirational speech about how they're all now, in a way, fighting for their Independence all over again, only this time instead of it being just one Nation fighting against tyranny or oppression, it's the entire Planet fighting together against annihilation! I've got it ALL figured out lol the entire cast! It might be the most difficult one,, but for the unkempt and highly excitable scientist in charge of research at Area 51, Dr. Brackish Okun, they could try to get Brent Spiner! Imagine Data from Star Trek TNG with long, stringy hair because they don't let him out much lol a little comic relief at a few necessary moments in the plot. Crap, I'm suddenly realizing I should have kept this to myself, now someone's probably going to steal MY idea! I Gotta go... ✌

After the movie came on 6 times the other day, I realized the original plot of the Harvesters was far better than their motives in ID4-2. In the original movie, they were after the entire planet, colonizers who basically wrecked the planet, bleeding it dry of everything, then moving on, that's why they wanted an Earth like planet because they were out to live here even if it was only temporarily. In the second movie, they wanted to steal Earth's core which makes no since whatsoever. All the materials in the core can be found in space far easier, and cheaper, and even if that is what they wanted, with their shields they could have landed one ship, got the core and left. It would have taken nearly half as long and required none of the vulnerabilities a full scale, long term assault opened them up too.
@UGNAvalon
@UGNAvalon 2 года назад
Haven’t hammers he’d the sequel, but I’d assume that harvesting the core would be the last thing the Harvesters did after everything else on the planet was bled dry?
@aoki6332
@aoki6332 2 года назад
@@UGNAvalon if that where it was it will have been fine but in the second its told that they where already preparing and mining the core when the first ship arrived they could have done so much better if they wanted like said that they where searching for carbon like lifeform since there called the Harvester but nah that just because they want to harvest the core
@michaelashtonjr.ashohara1414
I read somewhere that the Harvesters came for the core in the sequel was partly out of revenge for the first invasion being repelled off.
@mrtetsudotokkyu
@mrtetsudotokkyu 11 месяцев назад
I am not defending ID4-2, but perhaps the purpose of stealing the molten core of Earth was to make the planet useless for maintaining life in a way of revenge for the 1996 mothership being destroyed?
@yaboidre5672
@yaboidre5672 10 месяцев назад
The intention of bleeding the planet dry was to kill all intelligent life on the planet to stop any form of resistance. The real goal is whatever resources the planet has. In the first movie, we as humans are of course the dominant species; and we also gathered in mostly large metropolitan areas. That's the bleeding-them-out-dry tactic the aliens are using - killing an 'invasive' species inside their own hive. In the second movie, the aliens actually multiplied this attack by a billion. Their goals are no different, just executed with more efficient methods. The aliens actually went for ALL LIFE on earth this time - using anti-gravity weapons to rip apart whatever existed on the planet's surface, to yes, extracting the planet's core. We humans of course call this planet home, so the aliens decided to do the whole planet in a single attack the same way they did the big cities dozens of times. Now if you still insist that end goals for the aliens are different in the second movie, its possible Whitmore's speech was taken as a declaration of war (which can be presumed at the start of Resurgence). So if this is true, the aliens may have been hellbent on destroying humanity, and that's why they sent a ship that could rip apart a planet's crust and extract its core at the same time. Solid argument if you ask me.
