Possibly my favourite piece of flying lately, a lovely little duel with a Bf 109 G-14 that kept me on my toes and defensive most of the fight. Sadly interrupted by the tail gunner of a Bf 110, how very rude.
I did get kill credit for the 109 later, I have no doubt that if the fight had lasted longer, we both would've just plinked each other to death eventually.
Again, sorry for the replay format, haven't been recording in real time lately. Now that nVidia Shadowplay seems to have fixed itself I'll turn my Instant Replay function back on when I fly.
o7 to tant1234 for a really lovely little duel.

You have adjustable flaps and a better energy retention in maneuvers than the Spitfire. Use that. It out performs you in the climb and in speed, so your goal should be to trap it in the maneuvers and exploit your flaps and higher power-to-weight in a manuever fight. Your nose authority is top notch in a G.56, you just need to get one good burst of the MG151s off and the Spitfire will be mega dead. Spitfire pilots don't see the G.56 often and will often underestimate the sheer maneuverability of the Centauro with its flaps. A good spitfire pilot won't let you engage it in maneuvers and play to its strengths against you and BnZ, but then that's the same principle as fighting any BnZer.

Why didn’t you use flaps?

There were points there where I could have, but Spitfire flaps are very touchy and rippy. You have to manage them really carefully cause they only have a Landing setting, they're either fully out or in, nothing inbetween. Spitfires are usually fine without them thanks to the big elliptical wings as well, so I often won't go to flaps in a fight.

Sometimes it works to open them between stall maneuvers But there is a risk that they will break before they are closed.

@@TigrisGamingCML why does spits tend to flat spin?
@TigrisGamingCML
@TigrisGamingCML 3 года назад
@@AbdurrahmanZedSaeed it's really easy to push the spitfire past its limits since it can pull seriously huge angles, but once you push it too far you can lose it. Good thing is Spitfires are *really* easy to recover out of a spin, just push down on the stick, full opposite rudder, and it'll come out of it 9 times out of 10.
