When I tried WOT after playing WT, I couldn't figure out why I kept missing. Turns out I was aiming too far up.

2 years after this video was released I play WT, I used to play WoT from time to time but sadly WoT has became pay to win, premium tanks are more OP than ever and premium ammo makes heavy tanks armour almost useless in most of the situations. It became best to use the premium light tanks with premium ammo. Meanwhile in WT there are premium tanks, but they are still not as OP like the ones in WoT are, in WT premiums are mainly for bigger income to boost your progress. Balance is still not that good (Puma and M4A3 at 2.7, great balance) and AA has too mach penetration (the fabulous pizza boy professionally called OTO R3 T20 FA-HS). Both games are not perfect but War Thunder is more frielndly to free to play players, it just takes much longer to progress.

Thank you for the video. It has been a while since I played WT. Those were fun times. Especially when I got invited to the beta testing of the Tanks prior to the official implementation in the game. Sadly, I stopped playing WT prior to ships being introduced.

This video was just perfect. He covered almost everything essential to know about these two games. His humor and fluent speech made the video amazing. I was extremely disappointed to see his number of followers and worst had to come when i checked his channel.. i hope you come back you were doing an excellent work and im sure if u continue u'll become even famous !

When I unlocked the M3 Lee in WoT, I fucking cried when I couldn't use both cannons. Thank you War Thunder for making the ability to shoot both of them a reality for me.

I like the "brawling" aspect of WoT. But it can be very frustrating when under tiered or bad matchups leaves you unable to really effect the battle.

I used to play WoT for quite some time, when I first saw videos back when it was still pretty new it felt pretty realistic (sort of), but since then it has become increasingly fast-paced arcade like, or at least that has become more apparently. Especially since I moved to War Thunder, and never looked back since.

I have both installed on my rig right now. I really like the WT damage model, but I also really enjoy being in a WoT clan and the frequent events in that game. Getting into and out of a WoT match is much faster, so I tend to play it more often, especially if I am not wanting a long play session. They are really just two very different things at the end of the day.

I have been playing War Thunder on and off since Alpha.. and I still only have up to about Rank 3 or 4, maybe 5 items unlocked on some trees from being a completely free to play player. I know I have thousands of matches played in Arcade too. It's insane the grind.. I remember in Alpha/Beta back in the old matchmaking system you could unlock things very quickly.. Gaijin put a stop to that fast. People don't remember the game used to be well balanced and not grindy at all, then Gaijin realized they could make a lot of money through greed. That's why I have always refused to pay them any money.

About WoT "premium shells", they only really offer better penetration values vs the normal shells. A few years back they were only available to purchase with premium currency bought with real life money. Now they're available for normal in game currency but they're not cheap. I personally keep a mix of 80% regular ammunition, 10% premium ammo (for mirror match-ups or vs heavily armored foes), and 10% HE shells for very obscure situations

But the absolute best thing about Warthunder: INFORMATION ACCESS. The in-game format provides one area to test drive vehicles and display hit zones/equipment. You don't need to download a hit zone mod to learn. The other great thing is the co-op modes and single player campaigns. WoT also has CW and Stronghold 'domination' by a few big clans which prevents new clans from having a chance to rise.

I know this is a little old now but this was great to watch and thought me a lot of their differences. As I only play wot and I was wondering what the differences were.

I honestly find the WT grind to be way easier, it's so much better to be able to use multiple tanks in one match to research any vehicle I can, instead of having to use one vehicle to research only the one directly after it. Another major factor is that you get WAY more RP from warthunder matches, easily getting thousands if you perform well in arcade. Sim matches get a whole lot, so I honestly find the warthunder grind more tolerable to me.

Regarding how long it takes to grind to top tier in war thunder, we can probably estimate the time it takes somewhat efficiently. Looking at the German ground tech tree, we can approximate the bare minimum amount of vehicles required to reach top tier tanks will combine to around 3.5 million research points (probably not too accurate but somewhere around 3-4 million rp usually). If we assume to make 2.5k rp every victory, half of that every loss and have a 50% winrate (the stats of about an average player without premium time), and it takes us 10 minutes to finish 1 battle, it would take us 1866 battles to finish grinding all the vehicles. Convert this into hours and you get ~311 hours, but the number doesn’t seem very accurate as I have a similar amount of battles with German tanks and am about to get the 2A5, but I just have over 600 hours in the game. And if you play an hour a day, then that’s at least 1 year worth of grinding for rank 7 vehicles. Yeah. 1 year, minimum, not even including the sl costs for each vehicle (up to a million+250k to crew your rank 7 vehicle). So unless if you grind smart or give money to the snail, you’re quite screwed. Have fun grinding everyone, you’ll probably have to sell your soul to gaijin in the process.

What hell to expect if you're transitioning: War Thunder -> World Of tanks -Artillery is hell -Broken Matchmaking -Need to pay REAL money to have access to more powerful shells -Tanks that never existed -Seal clubbers (Pros who bully noobs for higher wirate) -10% of the grind are tiers I - V, the other 90% is the grind from VI - X -Completely RNG based game -"Crew Stun" -WAYYYY more russian bias than war thunder -Mediorce maps -Can't use multi turrets/machine guns, (Ex. M3 Lee can shoot all guns on WT but not on WOT) World of tanks -> World of tanks -Artillery is not hell, but now planes are hell -"Overpressure" -Anti aircraft is in shambles (Wirbelwind) -War thuder grind is fucking horrible, -Repair cost (If your vehicle dies, have fun paying 45k Ingame currency if your using a high tier vehicle) -"Crew will be on a mission" -Stupid fucking Italian R3s -Less rng based, but still rng based because gaijin decides where your shell lands, not you! -ALOT of seal clubbers, Top tier is a mess and no one plays it -Atricious Battle ratings (Tiger 2 fighting Cold war era tanks) I've played both, and can say both are fun and horrible

I played WoT first, and I loved it. fast forward 4 or so years, I played War Thunder and I am definitely not going back.

In Realistic Battles, there is also no aim indicator, guns are more unstable, and tanks are much slower and less maneuverable

Look as a veteran of both the games, Both of them are good and fun to play WOT gives you time to solve your mistake and allows you to play like you want to, WT on the other hand asks you to balance it with the team and play according to a strategy and plan

Some clarifications, because it wasnt mentioned in video. In WOT, you can kill vehicle faster than draining its full HP down to zero by shooting by one of the methods: - Detonating ammo rack (instantly makes vehicle HP zero killing player) - Start fire on vehicle tanks burning it to zero hp. - Ramming (often used tactic by heavy vehicles, can do a lot of damage to light vehicles faster than shooting) - Drowning vehicle under water - Flipping vehicle on rooftop - Killing all crew members inside tank (often in small vehicles with few crewmembers like french lights)

Little correction: the shot accuracy in war thunder isn't 100%. What i mean by that is: tge inaccuracy is not depending on movement, like in WoT, but instead it's depending on factors like the length of the barrel, as well as the condition/damage of the barrel. Although, normally the inaccuracy is so small that it only makes a real difference at ranges of well over 1 km

There is shell displacement in warthunder it's just only noticable with short barrels on distances longer than 1000m. There is actually a modification to reduce this shell displacement. Other than that amazing Vid!

idk if you said it but in WOT you need to put IRL money in other to get free space for your tank While on WT you can just buy a crew with SL without IRL money at the const of more playtime

fun fact, wt is better. also in german 1.3 rb why does no one use the stuka with the thousend pound bomb it works amazingly. the thing can kill anything at that rb yet no one but me uses it.
