I've watched many modelers on you tube use this technique. To be honest none of them explained fully how to work with OPR or how durable it is, thank you for doing both. Great video!
Thank you and that's because it’s my signature weathering technique I developed back in the mid-2000’s. I’ve been writing about in my books ever since, and the advent of RU-vid has really given it the legs to branch out and be used by more and more modelers, regardless of scale or subject. Also, the playlist tab has the other OPR streams and you can find the books on our website (link in the description).

Yes! I remember well. I started this a while back with including some rail projects (these are only proof of concept test models, nothing too serious as yet), and definitely recommend you go back through some of the live streams for even more rail content. I'm just starting the condensed edited videos from the live streams, and it was time to get this one done. You can find them all in the Playlists tab, and will have more in the future. I am buying the Gamblin paints that you list but they do not have a lamp black but an Ivory or a Mars black, which should I get or am I splitting Hairs ? Thanks !
My bad, I updated it to read Mars Black. The reason is Van Dyke Brown is a key color and Ivory Black is closer to it, therefore Mars Black gives you a better option with a deeper richer black. I've also updated with some additional new colors recently added from he 1980 Series. Cheers!
Coming from car background, I have a soft spot for 'em and 1/32 slot cars are abundant... that said, it's not on the radar anytime in the near future. I recommend taking time to watch the content, consider the books, and then practice and apply the techniques in your genre. Scenery isn't my forte, I stick to mostly machines right now, but nothing is off the table (pun intended lol). That said, I have a large 1/35 Gundam+armor cross-over diorama in progress (underway in the Mecha playlist)... it's early days yet, and it will have a complete city scene/industrial base, which will likely including foliage, scenery and building replication.
