I would love a graphic update of the original but I didn't want them to make the game litteraly unplayable. And putting a high price on it is just insane.
The death of the modding scene is the saddest part to me. There were so many treasures on there that are just completely gone because Blizzard just had to force a half-assed re-release with a horrible terms of agreement. It's honestly a tragedy.
The realization that the concept of DOTA didn't belong to Blizzard, but the creative minds who made it (Icefrog) had them throw a temper tantrum and corrupt themselves. Dude, it's actually so insane. Imagine if I created an art piece in Photoshop and suddenly Adobe comes and says "but but but you used MY TOOL TO DO IT! THIS IS MINE NOW!!!! MIIIIINE"
@@ThornskadeThat's bullshit. Blizzard is a joke of a company now, but let's not lie and let's not pretend that Valve didn't outright steal Blizzard's intellectual property and get away with it. I'm talking about Warcraft 3 assets like hero models and lore which were made by Blizzard, and not by Icefrog. Dota 2 blatantly rips off WC3 models and concepts. It's even less subtle than these shitty mobile games that rip off classics to catch your eye in the app stores. Blizzard never claimed to own the concept behind DotA - did they ever sue League of Legends? No. Valve could have developed their own aesthetic, come up with their own heroes and leave the same design created by Icefrog and other modders and it would've been fine. But no, they went so far as to purposefully emulate quirks of WC3 engine to make DotA 2 more similar to the original. There's no way in which this isn't complete scumbaggery.
@@zlosliwa_menda Lol, do you know how many games ripped off the original Doom in that exact same way? Code is not protected by IP laws in this sense. This is not scumbaggery and if it were it would really stifle the industry.

It is called "false advertising", it is when a salesman lies about the product in order to sell more. It is normaly illegal, but todays legalsystem hasn't figured out what the internet is yet.
I know right, I 100% blame the legal system because when there’s an unethical way of getting rich it’s guaranteed that there’s someone exploiting it. The legal system is slow as molasses, or someone is taking kickbacks.
I have to disagree. The legal system is in place and is being used for this type of false advertising. Who will bring a suit? Is there a disclaimer in the products Terms of Service? Is there a forum selection clause that brings it to a court where this type of litigation is likely to lose. These are the questions that need to be asked.

I think that's what happened to the Prince of Persia games and they ran fine on current gen. Literally all Warcraft needed was a facelift and they had some other company do it and blizzard took the credit for it.
i started playing wow about 1.5 years ago, althrough it was on private server. Legion was the first server i played for couple of months untill i switched to wotlk. And to this day, wrath is still the best game i've ever played even though i didn't play it in it's retail games. So no, it's not really nostalgia at all... Legion wasn't bad, it had plenty of features, it just didn't have 'soul' as older ones did
Only if you're focused on AAA companies like Blizzard and Bethesda. Money corrupted them like the Helm of Domination. If you want to play fresh and good games, you'll have to look for other companies like CD Project, which so far despite their success still deliver great games, or even better look for smaller so called indie developer. Expect simpler graphics like in the original WC3 with Gameplay that is actually worth playing.
Truth be told, a lot of the models WOULD look a lot better if the game actually had proper lighting to compliment their design. Case and point, check out the Warcraft Reforged in Unreal Engine videos, where a guy added some of the models into that engine. They look exceptionally good there. However, the big lack of animations (especially portrait ones) really pull things back. Had they made the game on a completely new engine, they would've had far less restrictions, quite possibly far less bugs and would also look over all a lot better. The only con would be a lack of cross-play, but nobody asked for that to begin with and older maps for the most part break or look terrible in Reforged, so it's a waste there too
Old Blizzard is absolutely responsible for Warcraft III Reforged and all the controversy of the Blizzard of today, they sold their soul, their essence and their customers to Activision... all for money... Blizzard was just as greedy as any other gaming company... but much like Apple, they made you feel like they cared for you...
League Skin Music "they sold their soul, their essence and their customers to Activision..." Or, y'know, Activision went to their parent company and made a deal with _them,_ forcing Blizzard to be merged with them against their(the workers at Blizzard's) will. I literally did a 30 second search of "Activision Blizzard history" and found that out.
I feel bad for the Warcraft multiplayer scene, those guys played the game for a decade and that's how Blizzard thanks their support. I thought about downloading the "shareware" version to see what's up with it, but after some thinking I realized it's not even worth the time.
It's such a shocking level of disregard and indifference, toward a game which has specifically created a lot of wealth and goodwill toward Blizzard in particular. They honored SC1 to an extreme degree with HD, probably one of the most faithful remakes I've ever seen aside from Spyro Trilogy or Crash. But this game doesn't deserve that apparently. There was nobody left at Blizzard itself who even cared enough to render some faithful decent looking character models in their FREE TIME? Fans would do this work FREE OF CHARGE for each other but Billionaire Blizzard can't spend some of that WoW money to do some in-house work, instead they add fucking mecha-gnomes to WoW, what a bunch of morons.

The funniest part to me of all this: I was in the deep throes of hate for Blizzard in 2018 as I was still playing BFA and disgusted at the disappointment I felt for it. When I saw W3 Reforged stratholm cutscene, I knew that the final game wouldn't look like that. Blizzard didn't let my expectations down this time, finally. I was on the winning side of history and did not invest any money whatsoever into this disgrace.
BFA was a disgusting turd, especially when things were looking up with Legion. Then Blizzard pulled this shit. Then they banned a friend of mine on bullshit charges of using a "dll injector" because of a Warden false positive (he apparently had an unofficial launcher for Blade and Soul running that a lot of people use due to technical issues with the official one). Then they stonewalled him and upheld that bullshit ban. Then they threatened to close his account if he kept appeaing. That was it for me.

Need I go on?
G C I'm not an us citizen nor do i live there. It's certainly corrupt to a degree, has racial issues, some surveillance and questionable working conditions. Still it's nowhere near China, where corruption might as well be taught in school for how widespread it is, if only teachers were allowed to teach the truth instead of government-approved patriotic bs and lies. (I should know, I met a former chinese teacher) And sure, even France chooses what is taught in school, but teachers aren't banned from talking about certain subjects. And it's not like you'll be able to find more about it online with all the censorship there is. Sure there are countries who spy on their citizens, but not like that, not like China does. It truly is a totalitarian regime who actually committed genocide and oppressed neighboring countries. Comparing that to the US would be like comparing a tank to a machine gun in terms of military power. They are both dangerous, but the tank is way scarier. Also, saying "but this country is no better" is such a non-argument that you might as well say "but the other kids do it". And assuming that the problem we have with China is due to xenophobia or racism is offensive and, frankly, quite ironic. But the topic isn't china or the us, it's war3 reforged being bad and the link with blizzard selling out for their chinese investors. My only problem is pandering to another country for money, especially on the topic of Taiwan.

Story time: I was one of those idiots to pre-order Warcraft III: Reforged, and bear in mind: I've NEVER pre-ordered any games other than this on. Ever. Hell, the reason I caved this time wasn't even to get Warcraft III: Reforged - and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this when discussing how much of a disaster this was. I pre-ordered so that I could gain access to the original version of Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne (as is STILL advertised on the site, by the way) because I had never played them before, nor any RTS really, because Blizzard had made it impossible for you to buy the stand-alone version so they could repackage it as a temporary pre-order bonus for buying Reforged. Because I thought, that at the very LEAST, if Reforged ended up sucking, I could still go back to the original game and play it as it was. That's all I really wanted from the start. And we all know what happened next: Classic client is gone, your 20-year-old physical version is now useless, Reforged is a complete disaster outsourced to a different country, and worse yet: they still, even after all of this, plan on making more remasters in the same vein as Reforged. Even people who PIRATED THE GAME somehow got fucked over; I didn't even know that was possible. Needless to say, I refunded the game immediately because I was lucky enough to have not played the game whatsoever, otherwise I wouldn't have been eligible for one. Unfortunately it's all in Blizzard Balance now, and I'm scared shitless to use it on anything like Diablo II, Starcraft, or...anything on there really. Especially because they're already set to repeat this same mistake for Overwatch 2, and that's got nowhere near the amount of acclaim and goodwill Warcraft III had, so who's to say all of their games won't eventually be ruined? So why even bother playing them? Never again. Fuck Blizzard.
OW is run by completely different people I believe. I'm thinking they will make better decisions. The OW2 highlight reel showed a bunch of RPG talent mechanics which makes me think it's not gonna be a PvP centric experience. I'm hoping it's going to be more of a coop game in the vein of L4D and Vermintide. I'd get that in a heartbeat honestly xD But ye, I feel like they remastered SC1 and some idiot official was like. "Hey, I got a great idea. We got all these other games too right? Let's remake ALL OF THEM!!" "GENIUS!!" What they fail to realize tho is that WC3 was fine. Perfect even. Why remake the campaigns at all? If their plan was to rekindle the WC3 eSport then I guess polishing it up to bring a bunch of attention to the game kinda makes sense. But SC1 really benefits from all the graphical upgrades and the big widescreen views that you can now do in eSport events. WC3 had no such limitations to begin with. Also the WC3 eSport is not nearly as big as SC1. So it doesn't really align. What worked for SC1 just did not make sense for WC3 imo. I feel like they should have just made WC4 xD Use the SC2 engine, use all the WC assets floating around in the moding community. Patch together some of the countless WoW stories and turn them into a few campaigns. Did you guys see the Alterac Map in Heroes of the Storm? The Horde and Alliance Forts look amazing. Just use that dammit! I hope they won't make the same mistakes with the Diablo remake. All we need is accessibility. No body wants a bottom to top remake.
