Y’all do realize that Caliban isn’t a bad Warframe? Is he a mass nuker no, but he definitely a cc machine. He instantly debuffs the enemy. Not many frames that can even do this

@@Rich_Rulez as someone who loves CC I must say, that CC really doesn't matter anymore and that's why he's bad. With frames like Wisp, Dante, Saryn, Mesa, etc. You can blast enemies away faster than we can debuff or lock em down, AND they can often debuff, control, or support themselves (like Mesa's 95% DR shatter shield). Caliban is quite nice in a vaccuum or solo, but for squads he's kinda..... well Nyx level

​@@Rich_Rulez yea but when people say he's "bad" what they really mean is that he feels a little half baked like there needs to be a little extra layer of synergies with his kit to truly make him stand out. Don't get me wrong he's fine where he's at but he's kinda a background character.

⁠@@Rich_RulezA cc that has an enemy cap and the debuff isn’t that strong lmao. Qorvex does the same thing except he can nuke the entire tileset and give status immunity to the whole team as well Caliban needs help everyone wants him buffed and reworked.

Part of me hopes the reason caliban hasn’t had any news(or even augments) is because they’re doing a massive change to him that augs are better done after. A bit of wishful thinking yes, but I hope I’m right

That's why Caliban can summon Sentient friends. He's lonely. I'm not sure yet how to feel about the changes. At least until I get to try it out myself. That cold damage buff though... *looks at Shivering Contagion*

Here's a better solution for DE to sort Nullifier Bubbles: Get rid of Nullifier units... The reason Nullifier units became a thing was because none of the enemy types could counter Warframe abilities, now that Eximus units of literally every faction can do that, Nullifiers just exist to make CC Warframes useless... edit: Also bring back Blast knocking down enemies...

I was 2 hours into a SPcon-surv on my frost. the people that stuck with me were more suprised that frost could even DO steelpath for somereason. like...wide range 100% armor strip/stun and a 30-40k overguard...of course he can do stuff just fine. (I was doing it for those trax cuz i didnt have...augmented i think it was at the time? I was only just coming back so didnt have all the new toys)

Seriously, people keep saying he's a bad frame but never say how much he actually can do. Semi-universal CC (eximus gets slowed by cold), ShieldGating + Overguard Gating on command making him have two forms of gating as survivability, invincible snowglobe for 4s for gating to recharge back, crit chance and damage booster, armor strip... I'm not saying he doesn't need a rework but saying he's a "bad" frame causes so much misunderstanding to how powerful Frost actually is.

The main problem with Corpus is the fact that Toxin trivializes them. Magnetic can get as good as it can get, as long as Toxin deals damage through shields, it won't matter. EDIT: I should add that armored enemies who have shields would probably make them a little harder to take down. Robotics were sort of resilient to Toxin, but that's not saying much; they still died incredibly quick with Toxin damage. My idea of a fix to that would be to give Shield Ospreys some kind of Toxin damage immunity so that you have to kill the Ospreys first to deal Toxin damage through the shields.

Or make shield size give DR against toxin like armor does. So toxin still can bypass, but a very strong shield will make it a slight effect and a weaker shield will essentially allow most of it through. Would also help incentivize building shields rather than shield gates.

Slash no longer ignoring shields makes no sense either. So, shields bleed now. Yeah.. logic. But armor, shit you put on somehow protects from toxin???

1:00 "That'll do" is fully what 99% of us do. Go Corrosive for grineer back then. I so don't care I usually go for viral + rad and if possible heat (with the new radiation mod it's easy). Their idea to streamline the whole thing is super good. It's what We all do anyway xD. Cold status being boosted is a + for me, as a Frost/Gauss main.

Frost's current state in the game gives me such mixed feelings. I'm happy he keeps getting indirectly buffed, far beyond the point where I'd say he's in dire need of a look before other priorities (like you know who of course: Equinox! Oh and Caliban too. And Nyx. And Loki....Oberon could use some help...etc), but GOD do I hate how much he's propped up by two augments that really should be made baseline already with two useless abilities and an incredibly niche third that might as well be effectively useless if not actively detrimental in most situations.

Tbf every frame released before 2018 needs some work atm. But hey at least nyx and caliban have 100 percent defense strips.... what i really hate is the state of frames like nova....seemingly powerful but totally useless. Oberon has never been good so at least hes on brand.

I have an umbral oberon with 5x Tau shards and it will literally keep any and everyone alive across the board on all star chart and SP missions including netracells .. oh and it’s eidolon build… oh and his 1.. it’s 1 shots bosses and acolytes.. his 4 full armor strips.. he’s one of the few frames that can heal defense objectives. he’s good. no buffs needed.. not everything needs to go past level 500 edit: I 100% i agree with nova tho lol

You could say that about mag and magnetize discharge, or the cast speed boost of fracturing crush. I assume it has to do with adding augment functions to the base kit, may also lead people to expect a replacement for said function of the augment. In the recent dev stream they said new augments are going down to 4 a month? I assume augment adjustments would be included in that limit.

@@SorrowsPeace did not realise overon strips fully... might be time to dust off goat boy and see what the king of the fairies is good for... but even so... fact remains that hes the third or 4th best version of his niche and that nice is not the meta niche. With no exciting abilities and no meta relevance.... why would anyone play him over other frames? Im not picking on him,hes just an example other non meta niche frames like loki nova vauban ash... frames who arent the top of their niche and arent inherently more fun than their counterparts... id really live a mass rebalancing pass to update frames who have been rendered obselete by overguard like vauban and nova and frames like gye and ember who are in really awkward places atm.

The real problem with magnetic is the overlap of toxin and magnetic's use cases. Magnetic can only be combined with heat or toxin (with exceptions...), and DE made the decision long ago to only release very few primed damage type mod(s) per weapon class. If you use the primed mods, you can basically only have magnetic and heat on one class of weapon (secondary), and all other builds involving magnetic are either heavily unbalanced (combining nerf shield with bypass shield) or leaving damage on the table. The solution here is to make magnetic/toxin actually useful. Either focus on making magnetic useful against non-shielded enemies (additional effects like grouping, weapon jamming...) or make magnetic actually matter in the overlap with toxin (toxin procs make a percentage all damage bypass shields, so our damage is more focused on one health pool).

i found it strange that pablo said that they dont tuch viral but armor cap and 50% armor strip from heat is buff to viral (because we would use corro over viral if enemy armor is massive)

Currently corrosive is only worth using if you have two green archon shards that increase the max corrosive stacks to 14, or Hydroid's passive, for the full armor strip because high level enemies still have crazy amounts of damage reduction with 10 stacks. With the new system, corrosive will become more useful without shards because 10 stacks will remove a much larger amount of enemy damage reduction.

@@NuchiAsaki thats not 100% true is not as black or white but is same logic if you cap max armor then viral increase of damage is on average bigger then increase of damage from removing DR by corrosive especially if heat already dose same thing as corrosive and can be combo whit viral that increase damage also viral combos whit slash better then corro dose so even if corro is buffed by this change viral that is not changed is indirectly buffed

Viral only increases damage done to health, not armor. That's why viral slash is such a top tier combo. Slash damage ignores armor and deals damage directly to health. I don't think viral is going to see much difference outside of being combined with slash. If anything buffing enemies health numbers and scaling is going to make viral slash have longer time-to-kill due to larger HP pools vs currently. And if you're not building viral alongside slash, then you really need to rethink your build.

@@NuchiAsaki You must not have been playing long. The old OG meta was running CORROSIVE HEAT, Viral HM/Slash, or Overloading enemies with status to proc Conditioned Overload which pre nerf had 100%+ each status type. The New meta is just green shards. Nothing will change for status based loadouts really, viral heat will still kill just as corrosive heat both did years ago. DAMAGE TYPES will still matter, because that bonus damage output in addition to the banes will necessitate a return to the older loadouts types.

They're nice but they aren't THAT strong. A flat 1x crit damage isn't such a massive boost and freezing isn't that much better than a 90% slow. Interested to see what the new cap will be for sure though as Im a Citrine fan.

@@ShadonicX7543epitaph is the easiest way to do so. I say easiest because it’s easier than hunting down lich or sisters to get a weapon to to aoe better/stat apply better. My epitaph with no forma could do over 200% status and 155% of a focused status type. Multishot makes it trivial to proc more. Couple clicks and any enemy is full proc’d

It was fun being part of the Caliban sad train during the Twitch stream lol Cold was good but now could be meta with the changes. I wonder if it’ll be a new side effect for Blast damage since the status is 100% useless. I do watch MrWarframeGuy, so I do know how strong gas can be 😂 It’ll be nice having armor strip as a choice over it being mandatory. It’s also nice that they’re finally reducing enemy health/shield types down since I never tried to memorize that chart and have builds for everything.

100% honesty: I have more or less single multi-purpose builds for almost everything that works well enough for almost all content. Only with the newest expansion have I even bothered slotting for Murmur damage, and thats the only faction I adjust my builds for.

the way ive personally seen the different faction hp pool and their specific reduction was infested 200% hp pools, corpus 100% hp and 100% shield and finally grineer of 100% hp and armor to make that hp more on "equal" playing field. the biggest issue ive always had with grinner was the fact the armor values scaled increasingly with lvl, them just leaving it at a flat amount IE 300 armor on a elite lance would always make it 50% reduction getting that "200%" range and 10 corrosive stacks would increase the dmg by 1.8x roughly with this example. now they are basicly doing this

I hope this will help to reduce the over reliance on overguard that has creeped into the game lately; you either run a frame that has an overguard ability, or you have to brute force a healing setup in to stand a chance

I have two color-coded load outs for factions (grineer, corpus, infested) plus some other niche builds for spy and such. I was surprised to hear Pablo say during the stream that people are just building viral for Grineer and taking it against everything. I guess I'm old school for using toxic against corpus lol

People don't build for specific damage types because you can deal so much damage regardless of your damage type that you might as well just use the only one you actually need. Viral is best against health, so it's best against both infested and grineer (once you armor strip them), and you can deal so much damage that you demolish whatever shields corpus have anyway.

@@Beanpolr Exactly. Rather than modding for Blast to do an extra 25% damage to their health, you can just mod Viral, get 3 stacks, and suddenly you're doing 30% extra damage. There was no point to half the damage types in the old system.

I had a couple builds i swapped for factions. but outside of enhanced shield sorties, shields just never were an issue. was always funny to do a sortie with like 4x the kills and only like 8% of the damage. work smarter,not harder >.

@@AnymMusicI use coldrossive epitaph for a lot of mission. Corrosive heat on the next config and then max status viral radiation. Each one for their own mission type, not faction type because that’s how busted that is

An upgrade to blast damage sounds awesome. also these changes mean it could actually be useful to mod your weapons with different damage instead of only having to use 1 weapon for everything, i always felt that 2 of your equiped weapons are for decoration when you only need your main weapon (the only exeption being the sentients and exploder orbs)

I do tend to mod for factions. Sometimes I even use bane mods! I have some mixed feelings about all this. I can see the potential, and depending on how the rebalance the health amounts there might not be too much of an overall change in the basic feel, but I kind of like some of the in-faction differences (like the Grineer "elites" and their Alloy armour vs the squishier Ferrite). They're probably also going to need to look at Toxic if they want shields to matter, so I'm a little worried about that.

I just gor viral always everywhere. sometimes add heat, maybe even radiaton for up to 3 different elements. when nourish, someimes change viral for corrosive

"Magnetic can disable nullfier bubbles with 1 proc" and "magnetic can disable or greatly reduce the effectiveness of Eximus units" are the 2 best ways to bring magnetic up to par with Viral/Slash/Corrosive/Heat and in the cases of late game mod collections Electric and Gas I think some balanceing like "nullifier bubbles instantly start regrowing at a fixed rate" to make them significantly less annoying for slower fire rate weapons vut that you still need to focus the enemy to permanently delete the bubble "Disable eximus effects" would be for targets you have put magnetic on that a Support Eximus, e.g. guardian, would then try to buff "Greatly Reduce Eximus effects" would be for direct harm Eximus units, say removing knockback or limiting the range of the hot bois or toxic eximus of the infested

i personally like the various resistances for every faction and would like to see more enemy types used in main missiions like the amalgams as eximus units. but i do get that this change will reduce scripting load which i feel is the true aim here. make mobile play less crashy

Viral, corrosive cold builds here we come! Think about it, no need for mag, since cold will proc slow and negate their shield charge, the corrosive will go right into any remaining armor, viral eats the rest. I already build for this so now its gonna wreck even better

Honestly the only goofy stuff I leaned into faction building for is the ridiculous deep archimedia Necramechs. Without a ton of rad damage they're incredibly resilient due to armor strip immunity and status effects capping at 4 stacks. Will be curious to see how they end up, but I'm *really* looking forward to the armor changes, should make some of the archimedia stuff a little more enjoyable, might actually be a point to trying out some of the limitations rather than just pairing with 2 friends to carry you and then switching.

I think if they make blast do like some sort of AoE that'd make single target weapons more viable. Maybe # of procs = range of AoE on enemy death? Sm like that

Damage Types - Well, most people ignored it before. Not sure it’ll change as they seem to be reducing the resistance and bonuses to single increments anyhow. Armour - I get where they’re going with it. And variety in tactics is a nice goal. This kind of only barely affects the upper end of normal gameplay though. Mostly coming up in the endurance niche. Unless their intent is to continue upping levels for the least interesting “difficulty” boost. Blast- Can’t comment obviously. Cold - Cold is already quite powerful. The biggest “problem” cold has is that most people build Viral and thereby can’t use it. Gas - We’ll see. Gas isn’t bad, but also suffers that you can’t use Viral, Corrosive, Toxin, or Heat with it without juggling. And requires grouping tech and enemy density to its full effect. Magnetic - That needle won’t move as long as Toxic damage bypasses shields. More benefits against a mechanic you can bypass entirely with identical modding style just makes it hard inferior. Caliban and Frost kind of do the same thing, AoE defence strip, crowd control and damage vulnerability. If Frost is an A, Caliban is a solid B+ behind him, mostly because Frost can affect OG units via his cold procs. With Caliban pros over Frost in buffing non crit and his defence strip being an area persistent effect.

I never build against resistances. I focus on what status effects I want to see in combat... which sadly, typically is radiation or viral or fire yeah. But I REALLY want to use cold damage after this rework, and I'm excited to see what blast becomes, and corrosive actually sounds useful now!

ya know when you said status changes, I was like "is viral gonna get nerfed?" Odd that it didn't imo, but this could work. Espically the armor changes. I main harrow at this point and the only way I strip is via Operator....that's annoying when going against grinner.

This is why I always use Hydroid for my kuva weapons. That way I can do Magnetic + viral/corrosive + heat. Nowadays my felarx can handle everything. Even Akarius prime works wonders.

The return of the Tenno space program would be nice, but personally I would like to see the new Blast status be more like actual explosive ammo, like what the Thunderbolt Mod does for arrows but better.

Caliban is good, I have no issues with his kit save for the spin to lose first ability. NYX needs a rework far more than any other Warframe, her Absorb ability has been broken for many years now. Her armor strip is inferior to Caliban's and can't even be targeted properly, while her 3rd ability doesn't even stop enemy AI from pairing with Interception nodes. Revenant and Nekros both have better puppet abilities than Nyx, that's just sad. She's supposed to be the most powerful telepathic warframe, right?

I'm interested at the change ideas but I do like the different special mob types being different. It gave a pretty cool unique feel to those mob types. Would love to see how they plan to work that into the new change idea. Also blast type is dead to me unless they bring back the Sonicor: Tenno Space Program. Still annoyed they made a fixed to blast and it had a unintended change to Sonicor, they then reverted the change for the Sonicor due to community dislike to only silently nerf it after the conversation died months later and ignored anything about it since.

I really want the Jade Light Eximus to be an Instant Death ability. Similar to a Leech Eximus where you can visually see the timed cast on you and you have to get out of it before it goes off. Maybe something harder to dodge like maybe it locks on and you have to time a dodge roll at an exact moment or something

I used to build for all 3 main factions, but heat is good for two of them, corrosive is good all around and viral is king. So i can usually hit enemies for one of their dmg type weakness

Supposedly Caliban is "Under the gaze of Pablo" so I hope that means he's being looked at with a rework or some tweaking which would explain why we didn't hear any talks about augments yesterday 🤔 maybe we might hear something at Tennocon like an announcement for the rework. But Caliban is starting to turn into Pre rework wukong for me where I loved Wukong even before his rework so let's hope whatever Pablo comes up with is gonna be cool and center around his Sentients and give them their own buffs and enemy debuffs

I never worried about it cause I just slapped on Viral Slash on everything or ability nuked. I had a newer to the game friend bitch about me for not memorizing certain enemy names and what's weak on them or not. He always asked me how the fuck do I play this game without knowing these things. I just told him damage go brrrrrrrr basically. I just bring Torid that's been set up with Corrosive/Radiation for Murmurs for every faction now since it's Torid and I'm lazy to switch gears. If I'm not using Torid, it's automatically Viral Slash on an OP weapon. I'm LR4 and the last thing I care about is weaknesses and what not when I do millions of damage regardless, oh no what would I do, my 5 million damage is only doing 4.5 million on the wrong enemy! Anyways...

Honestly speaking, am currently Mr 28 and have been playing since 2017. I always thought there were only 3 enemy health types and regardless my weapons were always running viral slash(and gas before that) until not too long ago😂😂😂😂. Like I'd heard about alloy armor and ferrite armor but always thought it was the same thing as regular armour

As a newbie, the changes all seem great and I'm glad DE are prepared to undertake changing such core systems in the game to make things more balanced and enjoyable. My one concern is that this will lead to people having to change up their build between every mission rather than simply playing the game. People already avoid faction mods for this reason. Sure, we can equip a primary and secondary for different reasons but what about frames who basically want to use exalted weapons all the time or onez who specialise in one element? It could all add up to more time in menus.

On stream Pablo mentioned that one of the goals of the rework is to let more generic builds still be useful even if they're not the optimal elements for the faction you're facing, making a wider range of builds able to still be at least somewhat effective.

Great things are coming but my #1 question is: Will we get Stalker outside Duviri? If Jade's the opposite of Stalker, then we should get both. As much as I'm excited about the ship skin, we should be getting more Stalker rewards since this is the Stalker quest.

I would love to see Blast procs work like this When an enemy dies with a blast proc, they will explode, with the radius and damage increasing with additional stacks. Furthermore, if the enemy gains an 11th blast proc, all blast procs on the enemy will be consumed and cause early detonation.

If the weapon has a status high enough to proc an effect yes. If it wasn’t corrosive before you can make it so and raise its status chance. Not sure if that was what your question was

Man this is probably going to buff the Lenz, since it's both a bit of blast and cold. Being able to fully freeze enemies in its "bubble" and be more "blasty" at the same time. Would also be "cool" heh, if it was a Tenet weapon for shits and giggles. Even though it does have a prisma version, which is fairly newish?. Speaking of blast, this ought to affect Styanax's 4th, or maybe not who knows.

I'm just chuckling. I absolutely appreciate them trying to inject some sanity into their system this late in the game. That said, it's never really been a big issue for most because they don't tend to push the system to it's limits in terms of scaling. The majority of the time resistances are an all-or-nothing issue that rears its head if you don't have the right mod/weapon/frame combo. Genuinely curious to see how it pans out. Been playing so long even a slight change is going to be noticeable.

This isn't an overhaul of the damage resistances. This is a reversion. They are taking the Damage 2.0 health/armour/shields and resistances, and reverting it back to a Damage 1.0 version. Corpus are easier to kill because of Toxin, not because they have too little shields also. All these changes are going to do is further incentivise using the already meta Damage types.

Not sure how I feel about getting rid of flesh types. It certainly is better for new players, to be one less thing to learn. But it also loses a lot of the sense of depth and individuality among enemies. I just don't want DE to streamline the personality out of the game, ya know?

​@@SorrowsPeace But like how many people actually optimize builds for enemy faction types, and how many just slap on Viral/Slash, Viral/Heat, or 2 shard corrosive for every single mission. The most people do is add a Faction Mod but that's it. I can tell you that the vast majority of people don't bother optimizing any further than that and just continue using the exact same copy pasted viral builds.
