Warframe - Steel Path: Vay Hek Solo Walkthrough ( Earth Boss Fight )

In this video you can find my solo walkthrough of Steel Path Earth Oro Boss fight against Councilor Vay Hek.
We all know the over the top Grineer high rank personality: we faced him on the Star Chart when we begun our journey across the Origin System and we witnessed his involvement in several high profile operations (like Operation: Plague Star and the Fomorian invasions). Now we face him on the Steel Path.
The strategy shown here proved very effective in taking down Vay Hek without too much trouble.
Of course I’m not claiming this is the only method. I tested several methods myself and if you want share your own favorite way to defeat this boss I’ll be very happy to hear your opinions.
I included the weapons builds and a detailed analysis of the Boss fight in the video itself.

I've been playing Warframe for less than a month it still feels like I don't know what I'm doing at times and this fight was proof of that. I did not had any idea what kind of boss he was. It took me 40 minutes to defeat him!! Hahaha

It happened to all of us hehe :) When we started playing the game we had little knowledge about what we were doing: the game is great but it doesn't explain things in deep details, to say so lol. Believe me, even after years there always are things I struggle to discover and so I try to share what I learn :)

Heavy attacks work just fine against the trash too. If you find you need some healing, you could pop in life strike. Or even a 90% electricity mod for more damage. I would personally use amalgam pressure over primed pressure. Also, don't bring a cat or dog. If Vay Hek decides to drain it, it will keep losing 20% of its health until the mission ends, while Vay Hek gains constant heavy healing. This is an ancient bug that just isn't going to be fixed any time soon.

I will give a try at the strategy you suggested :) It's sad after all the time that bug hasn't been fixed but I guess there are surely other priorities the Devs must work on, so I'll try to not complain too much hehe :)

Thanks for this bro, I liked and subscribed. I didn't use same weapons or frame but did it pretty much how you did and it worked. I Excalibur with the hek with hells chamber, scattered justice and radiation damage

I didn't know how he constantly heals himself back up so I shot faster instead of playing it safe to finally out damage his heals. Thanks for this guide and build ideas.

Thanks for the info :) Yes, it should work well even if you don't have it perfectly modded. What makes it so useful here is its ability to hit those tiny weak spots with ease: having it a bit weaker only means you will need to fire few more shots :)

Hi I did it with the Mausolon Archgun under 4 minutes with a chroma, Just spam vay hek with it during his first few phases

Oh my favorite Archgun. I'm very happy to read it worked so well because I love that weapon...even though I guess Chroma buffs played an essential role.

Is there any alternative to Shedu?

Every weapon with a large area of effect damage should "theoretically" be a valid alternative. The key is to have a weapon than can easily hit the weak-points during their "vulnerable" phase.

Weird question, if you can answer. Can AoE weapons after this update still work? I dont know if Vay Hek's exposed parts count as "headshots" given you cant headshot anymore with AoE

As far as I know when something "can't score headshots" it usually means it doesn't deal additional damage per headshot multiplier and it doesn't trigger headshot conditions. However the shot still deal damage, although without extra bonus. So regarding your question I'm confident they should still deal damage. However Update 32 reduced the effectiveness of many AoE weapons, so weapons that previously worked perfectly in a given scenario need to be tested again. I started to evaluate every build I made with AoE weapons. Hopefully I should be able to start upload the videos in the next days.

Thank You :) I often use Radiation on my Shedu because it work well as crowd control with all the Rad procs but Corrosive is still a classic. The Shedu is one of my favorite choices when dealing with "invulnerability/weak spots" bosses since the wide area of effect drastically reduces the stress of dealing with such mechanics. It is also a good weapon for Wukong Celestial Twin.

I'm so glad my video was helpful :) I plan to make more Steel Path videos with more builds and tips. I spent the whole week farming the Necramech but I should be able to resume the video schedule very soon.

I haven't tested it but most weapons with AoE and a good damage output will do the trick here :)

You play through Earth nodes until you finally unlock it. Once you completed a given mission for the first time, you will immediately unlock the mission that is "linked" to it.

@@bricksandseven9295 I have finished every other quest on the Earth but Oro and once I was gonna do it, it didn't let me because I have to be MR5. I was MR4 at that time so I couldn't do the quest.
