The guardsman lay awake. It had been three days since he slept... but he couldn't, couldn't not until he knew why. Why had that... thing hugged him? He should be glad to survive, gladder still that Atstartes reinforcements arrived in time to drive off the corrupted. It was all one big Emperor-damned miracle, but even so... why? Was it insane? Probably, but that didn't seem enough. Did he know it? Impossible, the creature was far more ancient than his own ancestors how could he know it personally. Could... could it possibly not have been all bad? The guardsman ground his teeth and made the sign of the Aquila over his heart to drown out the heretical thoughts. That thing was a monster through and through. But, if so, why... It had been two months since he slept and he looked like hell, but then again they all did, warp travel can do that to you. It didn't help that they had no proper rest in between battlezones. Today he had been assigned to patrol the engine spaces to maintain order, the engine serfs have been getting rowdy lately. Snapping as crisp of an salute as he could manage under the weight of the fatigue, he shuffled off. He was halfway to his stationed post when the captain gave an announcement through the vox systems of the ship's return to real space. He didn't notice, instead like any other time he was alone his thoughts returned to that monster and its reason for sparing him. Mind troubled, he reached behind his flak jacket before jerking his hand away with a shudder. *Not yet.* He continued the rounds, barely registering that the ship safely transitioned back into real space. After the completion of his eighth circuit around his post he stopped in front of the plasma drives, a horrible realization coming to mind. What if... somehow the creature sensed *corruption* within him, what if it regarded him as dark kin? What if he was let go because he would cause more death then the corrupted astarte ever could? Has he been corrupting everyone he met? He thought back to the thousands of guardsmen, the dozens of techpreists, the hundreds of serfs and knew each one was now a tool to spread more chaos, more corruption. What has he done? He looked to the doors of the plasma chamber. What can he do... reaching behind his flak plate, he pulled out two melta charges, he stole them from the armory days ago. At the time he didn't know why, but now... now he knew, he was guided by the Emperor, and now it was time to do his work. Placing the first charge, he backed away to a safe distance and prepared to sprint. He would not have long. Remotely detonating the charge, he was through the smoldering ruins of the door before the molten metal had even finished dripping onto the deck, his fervor carrying him through the pain. Staggering to the drives, his body ruined from the molten steel scorching off his flesh. He gave a final 'For The Emperor' before breathing in... and he was gone. They ALL were gone. It took all of three seconds for the ship and everyone on it to be wiped away in one titanic flash. Quick. Merciful even. Everyone dead before hardly anyone knew anything was wrong. So now if you were to travel to the Gothic sector, a few weeks north from the nalamime system you would find the charred fragments of an imperial vessel. Look a little closer and all you would find of the crew that once inhabited it are, through the most maligned and terrible powers, thousands of gleaming skulls floating in the void, entirely untouched. For you must remember dear reader, that while he has his preferences, Khorne does not care from whence the blood flows, nor truly HOW *ONLY THAT IT FLOWS.*

What would have made the yer a wizard Magnus comic funnier is if instead of The Emperor, it was Malcador

That one comic with the Tyranid makes me think that is how it works when there in the box with Toy Story rules.

The Necron waking up with the Magos going through their $h1t was by far the best.

Laser tag with space marine would be fucking terrifying hiding behind your cover with your lasgun on it’s lowest setting when the blood angel on the other team decides he’s had enough of cover and hurls himself Into close combat by charging through the wall.

1:16 I like to imagine an AU where the super soldiers of the various factions don’t really die, and this has all been 10,000 year game to them. The chaos gods are actually pretty chill, and throw some pretty cool parties on the weekend. The Emperor is never seen because he’s always tired from always making sure nobody gets hurt or non-consensually taken advantage of. That’s why they say the Emperor Protects.
