um Penultimate mission critically wounds 5 of your knights no matter how well you do, and then you need 10 knights in 2 groups of 5 for the last mission, so yes you need more high lvl knights Maybe it's just on legendary and I'm talking out of my ass
@Dantics

Stagger moving is still very usefull as you want to keep your knights close together when combat starts. Even though your action points replenish if half your squad is dragging feet behind they will now waste those action points in combat just getting to the action.

9:40 An exploitable fact: the surge meter will never rise above 100, so if it's about to hit that mark regardless, it's time to go to town with psychic abilities. ( Giving consideration to how much willpower you have left overall of course, because WP is a limited resource and not too easy to replenish.)

Interceptor feels like an op class at very least at the start. Also from skill trees I can see that purgator can also be a powerhouse with aoe clearing force shots + return fire + 1AP on crit/hit well bonus AP on any char is always good to have. Anyway Interceptor as we can see is just a class that zips around and kills everything with its teleportation/teleportation attack (which sadly don't count as melee attack if you were wondering), max some ap return on melee hit (or melee kill is it?) auto and you can walk around and kill 3-6 guys easily. Add Justicar with charged up "gief +X AP and +X WP anywhere on the map skill" + fortress and your interceptor is mostly unkillable/undamagable. One thing that needs to be said in bold big letters. AUTO skills are free attacks/skills/uses of stuff are very important for your chars so in the long run having a lot of em can give you some astonishing combos (and the more of them you have the bigger the need for that juicy passive that increases your AUTO skill uses by +1, yeah that's +1 of every little dirty trick you've been pulling off may happen once more). I've heard of one purgator that went critical on one plague marine that dared to shoot at him. That said purgator had just previously unlocked a auto that gives off a 50% chance to return fire when fired upon, what a grand plasma/aetheric explosion and consequently a mangled death for enemy it was.

After some hands on, there's some crazy bits. Most of the 'damage' classes can get up to stupid levels with the right gear drops. Got an Interceptor that has both a skill and a weapon that has a chance (I think 65%?) to give an action point if they crit, with a 50% crit chance (without the best gear to pump that up), up to 4 times a turn. I have a Purgator that can hit 19 squares away (which is farther than most character's movement+ sight ranges), ignores armor, and does like 9 damage per shot. I have a Purifier (an 'advanced' class that's somewhat rare) that can drop 36 damage in an aoe in one turn, that can be done for 3 turns then it's down to 'only' 24 aoe damage.

Kinda late but I wanted to point out something with Interceptors Their warp strike pairs extremely well with Support Fire, despite being on opposite sides of the tree. You can warp strike in, and you will usually have a flanking position on the enemy, so you can take advantage of your other knights to clean up anything your Interceptor somehow doesn't kill, while still using the Interceptor to do some extra damage Such a versitile class. I only wish they could equip Terminator armor

Definitely easier than the original Chaos Gate. Wish they'd bring back the old soundtrack though, because that was bad ass. Key with this game is knowing that Grey Knights are meant to be surgical. Don't try and wipe every map, go in take out the objective and get out. Aiming to wipe every map you'll just end up with a buttload of wounded Knights. Gate to infinity is the best strategem by far. Get close to the bloom spreader, gate to infinity around it and focus fire it dead and ignore the other trash. Mission won. Same with bosses, just aim to kill them in at most 2 turns.

Very little info on the game yet, trying to find answers to some questions, and it is difficult to impossible so far xD Thank you kindly for your time sir, we all do appreciate it I did want to ask a quick question, and bring up a rather big point for others about Prognosticars. First off, is there ever a time you can recall or relocate these points? I completely made an assumption at the beginning of the game, rushed for the first two and placed them, not realizing that they appear to be permanent placements, not temporary. I also put a huge amount of research into some of the advantages they give, not realizing that they were associated and just assuming they were battlefield buffs. It is specifically labeled, but once you see the advantage it makes it very easy to gloss over other parts in excitement Being able to reduce the warp bloom per turn is awesome, but it ONLY effects areas in range of the deployed Prognosticars, and from what it appears, it looks like even maxed out, you are limited to 4-5 on the entire map, leaving a fair number of sectors that won't have coverage. I was wondering if the game opens up even further later on and changes how some of that works or expands upon it, or if I've hit the nail on the head, and just made a fairly big mistake early game that I will feel for quite some time
@Dantics
@Dantics 2 года назад
No once committed, they're committed. It's a big choice and the game doesn't really explain that to you. It only really matters beyond normal difficulty where you are really trying to keep these plants from being completely lost. In which case always keep one charge ready to be applied to a planet. The map you see beyond the tutorially section of the game, where you can start moving around as you see fit, is the extent of the galaxy. Maxed out you should be able to cover most planets with the prognosticars tendrils. Not all though.

Dantics, if you're having an RTS itch, I will give you the keys to the kingdom. The Disgaea series, imo, is the best RTS series ever made. I've played so many others and just not a single one compares. Maybe it just speaks to me on a level of things that I want, but they are fucken awesome. The first one came out in the early 2000's and the latest just last year. The first one has been remastered and idr if they released it on PC. They've been slowly adding them to steam, but they've been mostly Playstation titles. The power fantasy is real in this series. I won't go into it much so you can see for yourself, because I could talk about this for a while. It's _very_ Japanese, so take from that what you will. If you want further explanation, I wouldn't mind typing it up.

I find these sorts of comments funny. Have you seen the models? You know the reason the setting and universe exists? They are cartoony as hell. The setting of 40k is written dark, but nearly every offical representation has been cartoony to some degree. I think the art style is fine, it's a small studio so I give them leeway because the overall quality of this tile and gameplay are on par with some of the better warhammer games out there.

so I'm playing this game now and it generally sucks. The game force you to move and play fast, cause the longer the mission the more difficult it is. Ok, I can deal with it, but there's still no zone of enemy visibility so I know exactly when the battle starts. Triggering battle start with 3 marines which are a whole turn away is not a good idea. Instead of moving them fast you need to bunny hop them one by one. It's fucking slow. There's not so much rng while shooting except crits. So what? There' s still shit load of rng outside of single missions. I'm like 200 days in the game and my strongest grenade is the basic one although I've upgraded accessories to 3rd lv. This game tries to push you under the train constantly. Even the game mechanics tell u that death is imminent and u can even get some benefits from permadeath. Managing your crew - wtf is this? In 25y old jrpg managing your equipment is done better. Why cannot I speed up the game? There's a few easy fixable "features" which would made this game much, much better.

I really want to enjoy this game. As it truly can scratch an itch since XCOM games... But how?! How is it possible to make the Grey Knights, a chapter so secret that if you knew about them in the 41st millennium you'd be executed, feel so completly underpowered and underwhelmingly impotent and weak?! I mean c'mon, even the shitty Astra Millitarum cultists can shoot longer and have more abilities (at the start)! Now I understand you cant make the power difference like the lore, seeing as one GK could take out a platoon of cultists single handedly, but I mean c'mon...
@scalpingsnake
@scalpingsnake 2 года назад
I struggled my first playthrough. I decided to restart pretty quickly and I am having a much better time. As for them feeling weak, if you play right it makes a huge difference. You just have to try your best to let them go down in combat.
@StrikeNoir105E
@StrikeNoir105E 2 года назад
How does one feel "underpowered" when abilities like Psychic Onslaught can eradicate entire groups of cultists in a single shot in the very early game, i.e. literally the first handful of missions? Also by mid-game your Grey Knights can become so powerful that with the right abilities you can accomplish missions in literally a single turn.
@Wareitar
@Wareitar 2 года назад
@@StrikeNoir105E you refer to ONE broken skill. I wont deny that one bit, psychic onslaught is OP as f***... Congratulations, that's one broken skill in one broken class in the game. What I mean is that at the start the game just feels way wrong... But from the point on where you meet other chaos marines, demons and chaos terminators, the game makes more sense... The first part though, when you're up against cultists, the game completly lacks the feel of a Space Marine game. Not sure how much you know of the 40k lore, but Space Marines in general is concidered gods among men. They're NOT regular humans in any shape or form. Hell a space marine without power armour could probably shred numerous cultists with ease. And that's a regular Space Marine. Grey Knights are so secret and so powerfull in that universe/lore, that the mere knowledge of their existance carries a death penalty among other entire chapters of space marines!!! They are litteral godlike psychers all of them! With centuries of training behind them. And you're telling me they're gonna be outgunned by a lowly human?
