Naah shadebinder should be at least A tier. Its kit can be used to overcome everything, depending on the aspects it could become a S-tier slayer, or a S-tier area controllerr/dusrupter. Yes its not learn but once you understand your build and adjust your thought proccess behind the decisions to your build you can pull of incredible plays that despite not being easy to learn, the plays will be signifcantly easier to do than with other subclasses. Not to mention the potential synergy between the stasis sublcasses. The fact that shaddbinder has a higher skill ceiling only means that if yoy invest more in the class, you can do more. Also considering the low % of the playerbase which are shadebinders allows shadebinder enjoyers to use tactics which even a experienced player wont be used to react to or expect. The only downside to shadebinder like you mentioned is long super cooldown. Personally in comp running 6-8 intellect i get my super in around 2-3 rounds. So, if you slay out its not as bad as many think. The super itself is incredibly powerful, its definitly one of the if not the most powerfull super, most notably you can kill opponents around walls without peeking/risking to be domed by a sniper, you can also wipe bubbles easily, and even wells(but it takes time to do so, dont reccomend unless you have to). Otherwise if you manage to deal enough damage to get your super quick the kit is insane and with practice its definitly S-tier. Considering long charge for super and takes practice to learn ill give it A tier. (Just some super long controversial comment so Appaththic gets better youtube stats
I agree on it being a very good subclass, but you have to agree that the nerf to whisper of bond made this subclass lower its rank. Another thing, this is a tier list for easy-to-use, meaning doesn't need to much thought it to the class or in laments term its a floor ranking.
@@patrickarraes4422Just finished a session of comp, havent been playu g comp earlier in the season so at plat rn, i get my super usually first in games, sometimes second to wells and bubbles but even so its quite often that i get my op roaming super before my opponentw get bubbles and/or wells. I mentioned that im at plat en because maybe my opponents arent really good and arent dealing enough damage to get their super first, I checked their intelect stats and its surprising how me and a well both got 6 intellect but i get my super faster. They nerfed the fragment for a reason imo because i dont use the fragment at all, I use reaper on my bond to do somehing similar with frostpulse and still get my super first or not long after wells or bubbles. But yeah in terms of ease of use it usnt the easiest but shaddbinders kit could make it easy to use for example usibg bleach watcher instead of frostpulse so no need for timing and bleach watcher is easy to use, so building shade in similar to that ways can make it very easy to use.
@@patrickarraes4422it doesn't say anything about being an "easy-to-use" tier list. Shadebinder is definitely not the easiest to pick up, but as it was said before, it has a very high skill ceiling. Just being able to pop a rift in a bubble and kill the unsuspecting titan inside, or having iceflare bolts save me in a 3v1 in a round of trials when I freeze a whole team makes it at least A tier.

S tier -Shadebinder. Frost pulse is a fantastic counter aginst aggressive teams not to mention being the safest to farm supers with dynamo and distribution and stasis turrets counter passive players forcing them to move or stop scoping lanes to shoot the turrets. It requires you knowing how to bait, read the radar and predict your enemy, but worth learning. The melee is also amazing even if it takes a bit of learning. A tier -Voidwalker. Unfortunately it only has 1 good aspect the void soul (self explanatory really) since we dont have atomic breach melee anymore and handheld supernova cant kill, getting ability kills consistently is almost impossible making the devour aspect a worse version than the echo of hunger fragment. And chaos accelerant makes most of the grenades (except axions and maybe vortex) objectivly worse, not to mention that your super stops charging when holding the grenades.
The moment i saw stasis C tier,are you for real now?its S+ easy. Have you ever invest on it? Arc B tier? and strand A tier? I think you have to reconsider your decisions.
Been focused on Hunter in pvp lately but I’m general a warlock Void lock with secant filaments - Devour on demand , healing with child, you can run lower discipline because devour brings back grenade energy, plus melee helps with aping, emp rift helps effective range on weapons I run chattering bone (kill clip + headseeker) or Round Robin (keep away + elem cap/hatchling/kill clip) along with trespasser/iterative loop
I can understand the reasons for this order. I think it's really difficult to make a tier list like this because it's mostly about an individual play style, but there are utilities in each subclass that give an edge if used right. For me it's solar up top for sure with space for stasis, but I used to go hard with void, and before that I was an arc main. I really think it depends on which set up you are going with and which environment you're playing in, not to mention what you're playing against. I mean, trials and comp are both 3v3 but they play so differently, you could argue for a different set up in each of them (I know I have different load outs for each). Just like getting in a 1v1 with a void titan is a very different game than against a void hunter, and same can be said for 1v2 or 1v3's vs each subclass. Some kits excel in countering some other kits, so it really comes down to how a player applies their kit to every situation and whether that subclass let's you adapt and be flexible. Strand is the one I have the least practice with, so it's no surprise that I feel like it's trash. I know there's utility, but I can't quite figure out how to get the most out of it without making it all about threadlings, which bores the crap out of me.
I main broodweaver and wanderer is heavily underutilized. And stasis I feel should be played more defensively. I think it had a high ease of use and should be in A with Broodweaver in B
@@kyreek2101 I’ve seen a few builds be successful. Either karnsteins with grapple build, but the one I use is swarmers with a strand primary, shotty and weavers call with wanderer. Threadlings are easy to avoid in high skill lobbies but whether they do damage or not they are at bare minimum distracting and being a nuisance. This build has constant threadlings on the field and wanderer sets for teamwipes. I use round robin because after being tagged by one threadling they are left at two tap range. Even one head one body at low resiliences because of the unravel damage with swarmers.
Love your content Apa and think Voidlock overall is underutilized. Would love a slightly more in-depth video (or just YT comment) from your perspective breaking down the benefits/trade-offs of Astrocyte, Ophids and T Steps on void for keys and controller. I know you're a huge Ophidian fan and on controller it's arguably the best choice on Solarlock because Icarus Dash can make up for movement shortcomings. Without icarus dash or skating though and I just find Voidwalker too slow for Ophidians(Chappy/Rose help). Really want to commit to the class as I find it far more enjoyable than mindlessly smacking on PKs, SMG, and cloudstrike on void titan.
Thank you for the support! Honestly, I would think this argument is mainly between OA and TS on MnK. On controller I could see astrocyte being a great option. Biggest trade offs for OA is the fact that it requires high skill to get the most out of since it’s enhancing your weapons and that it really. T steps are great for getting in and out of bad spots but again like OA require higher skill to really optimize. Astro is good but the biggest downside is good players will be able to easily anticipate blink. I hope this somewhat gives you what you were hoping for.
The new briarbinds work really well for me as a mid range player, nobody expects you to have 2 void souls. You can use a charged Vortex grenade to keep them in it or the axion bolts to chase them and finish them off while they are weak. Or better yet, send your second void soul after them.
My main build is a void lock, with t-steps and blink. T-steps for movement and blink as an extra movement to get out of sticky situations. Have not been able to put this build aside since I started maining it start of light fall. Took me to my first few solo flawless runs. A super fun build is the threading army build
Bro u didn't even talk about solar's best tool, ICARUS DASH! Anytime I play a warlock subclass other than solar it literally feels like your moving in slow motion. Solar is leagues above void
People are sleeping on Broodweaver so heavily, simply because they think it's the Threadling subclass, when in reality it has a more potent Grapple melee than all other strand subclasses + The Wanderer making all your tangle a free suspending kill. I pair it with Karnstein, and can easily wipe a whole trials team after finding the first grapple melee kill. The super is awful though, full stop.
For arc, Getaway Artist or Geomag Stabilizers (build into Ionic Traces for bonus super energy). For Solar, Rain of Fire. For void, Secant Filaments or Astrocyte Verse For stasis, Osmiomancy Gloves Nothing specific for strand.
shadebinder C? You mad man. I go flawless with it easily... you can double tripple freeze people and counters bubble?!You can get your grenade nearly instantly when you are freezing people.
The nerf to whisper of bond made stasis lock worse, both for pve and pvp. It was not op, but very good to the kit. They should remove the penalties since this fragment is bad now.
Icarus dash alone makes dawn top tier. They butchered stormcaller. I miss transcendence and arc web. I used to main top tree storm and I won’t even touch it anymore. Arc souls are terrible and I wish they wouldn’t have put so much focus on it.
Void at S??? Are you serious? Ok I know you didn't exactly mention exotics, but void has the actual WORST exotics out of probably every single subclass in the entire game. Almost all of them are PvE based forcing you to use generic exotics, and a lot of the power for warlocks are their exotics. Void has absolutely NOTHING in the way of exotics. Then we have the kit itself and holy hell it's actually TERRIBLE!! For one all the cooldowns on void are absurd compared to other subclasses, and as I pointed out void has shit exotics on pvp which means you are stuck with those cooldowns no matter what you do. Then there's the aspects, void soul which is not only janky as fuck and hard to use, but also doesn't really...do much? If the enemy is an idiot sure they'll stay and you can farm energy, but anyone that's even halfway decent will just move away and boom, there's your whole aspect gone with a stick shift. And what are you left with, cooking grenades for a mid result? Getting devour on a void kill💀? And don't even get me started on how AWFUL the grenades are for void. Even vortex for how absurdly big it is doesn't do much. Void has absolutely nothing in the way for the warlock, it's the most vanilla subclass and it's mid to downright terrible to boot. AND WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS STASIS DOING AT C????? You yourself said supers shouldn't matter so much when evaluating a subclass, otherwise dawnblade would be the best subclass in the game because of well. If we take into account what stasis has to offer it completely SHITS on void. For one coldsnap grenades alongside their exotic counterpart(which is actually good!) Allows you to use them consistently and with mostly no issues, and you get an upgrade to boot! Coldsnaps can downright win you the game by themselves if you're good enough with placing them(and it's not even that hard after you've practiced) Freeze rift is an amazing anti push tool and can even act as a guerrila approach if push comes to shove. And the melee while being the hardest part to master about the kit, it ends up being far superior to the void melee which... doesn't really do much(although admittedly it's probably the best part about void lmfao) And I haven't even talked about the stasis turret, that's a whole other can of worms, but let's just say it actually does something useful, unlike void souls. Everything else is fine, I can't really call strand an s, but it's definitely good. And solar is overrated af. But man both of those takes are....I don't know what you were thinking with them. But every warlock is different at the end of the day, I'd like to know a more in depth analysis of why you despise stasis so much, really knocked it down for being a subclass with no super.
Bad take. Void is really underutilized. I don't agree it's S tier but it's certainly not bad bad. As for abilities regen and exotics? Void let's you eat players with child of old gods they have to reposition or shoot the void soul. Regen? Skill issue. Don't spam abilities. Exotics? If it's not T steps or ophids then idk son.. astrocyte verse got buffed too! It's actually really good now. Overall, void lock is up there for best subclasses in game it has a high learning curve tho and misleads people into thinking it's bad

Again yes it's a good generic exotic but it doesn't compare to subclass specific exotics which fundamentally change the subclass, and astrocyte is...niche but admittedly good. Also besides blink I high-key disagree it's anywhere near high skill, again it's the most vanilla subclass warlocks have and with the exception of blink even a toddler could play void. I'd actually put void at C tier, it's perfectly rated there imo. Kinda mediocre but like everything in d2 you can make it effective.
Can see this for what it is right off the bat, engagement bait, Solar warlock is unanimously known for being quite literally S if not S+ tier, icarus dash, heat rises, and the mobility and utility they provide are so beneficial at all levels of play and it only gets better the better you are, coupled with healing nades and the fastest charging defensive super solidifies this class as leagues above many other classes. Voidwalker isn't a bad class but it certainly isn't S tier, it belongs firmly in the A tier. Good but not great, and certainly doesn't top solar warlock. 🤣

Agree there, the placement of void solar and stasis made absolutely zero sense whatsoever, and not much logic behind it either. And yes stasis is absolutely BUSTED if you practice ability management...
I love your build videos man but this video seems like it’s literally just engagement bait, i get LIKING voidwalker a lot but there’s absolutely no way it’s better than dawnblade or even shadebinder and I’ve played a lot of all 3
Engagement bait has never been his style. Plenty of top tier PvP players(Apa, Awake, Sayariu) absolutely slay out and sing the praises of Voidlock. Instead of complaining he doesn't just parrot the community accepted rankings why not try and dig more into why he put things where he put them?
I'm with Saiyan here dude, most high level players agree on this. You gamble so hard on your freeze landing with Shadebinder and the super cooldown blows a**. Voidwalker is way better than most people give it credit for.
@@SuperSaiyanSandwich125 voidwalker is great for slaying out against low tier players because of devour and their usually too stupid to just shoot your voidsoul, but against equally skilled players it falls off completely, I will say I see voidwalker and shadebinder as more interchangeable but dawnblade is vastly superior to both of them
