I live in Northern North Dakota and I don’t even think about moving my truck until the temp gage is warm. So I waste some gas in the process but I don’t care

2014 honda crv bought brand new, remote started every morning and after work, 210k km later engine is still tops.

Honda makes very tough engines. They can take a lot of abuse, normally.

Honda had a problem with GDI engines dumping gas into the oil . I believe they recommended a longer warm up. I think the other thing you should mention is that you should be gentle on the throttle until the motor has actually reached operating temperature

This is my morning startup routine since I owned a car. Start the car. Fut the blower on full defrost. Scrape the ice or frost and by the time i am done with that i can see the Temp guage starting to move up and I am ready to go.

I even drive gently around my neighbourhood first to warm up trans and rear diff. If I have time.

With modern vehicles it's better to get going as soon as the oil starts to circulate. Which isn't very long with the 0w-20/0w-16 synthetic oils. Even as you get moving, I recommend taking it easy on the acceleration until the engine gets more toward operating temperatures.
