The joy of Warpaint is that you can listen to the song on the album and then listen to it it live and it feels like two different songs that are equally amazing.
And I think, that they are really meh live. I mean, drums and bass are working perfectly, those girls know what they are doing. But I've seen a lot of lives of this song and Theresa is... just bad on the guitar. She can sing, that's true, but her guitar skills are, well, questionable.
Live was just amazing, the enhanced base vibrating the air space from beneath the stage just brought a whole new dimension to a live performance for me that i would have never had the chance to experience. And being within metres of them all too. Saw them live Feb 2017 Perth, Western Australia.
This band rocked my head and introduced me to a world of allure, mystery and happiness. I absolutely love them. I like how Theresa is playing through a Roland cube and not her usual Vox ac30, proof that you dont need an expensive rig to sound awesome.
This is the song that got me into the band. And I have to admit that I like their earlier stuff more; darker, more "me." Contrasting the two, I was worried that they'd gone pop. But after buying Heads Up, I felt a bit at ease as some of that old, dark sound was still there. There's nothing wrong with a little change and while, again, I miss those dark downtempos, I'll still keep listening if they keeping creating music like this.
why isn't this a hit? we do have great music in every generation, it just doesn't hit the mainstream like it used to. they look depressed, they should be joyful and stars! they deserve it this is a great tune.
Can't get this new song out of my head since august ;) Perfect combination of the dreamy sound I loved ever I first heard them on Exquisite Corpse but now with an extra bite and swing to it! Many thanks :D
The song is great either way you cut it, but I always get upset at electronic/rock artists who rely too much on studio tricks to make a great recording and stink when I check them out live. I am VERY impressed to see each member rocking the song live exactly like the track I hear on the radio!
I think everyone hated this song and thought the whole album had the same vibe, but actually its the only song that sound really different from their other works, btw this version sounds really cool and the album too, so listen to it :)
actually seen this performed live in concert + all over yt ~ this is the fatest i've heard it played so far n you can tell they struggled a lil to make it sound tight ~ that's why i pointed it out that they played it exceptionally fast this time ✌🏾️
their live version are always better than the recording who is their studio manager? I mean CAPTURE them as they are like this the original sounds too polished and commercial
