@@Rosario_Verano - You may call me crazy, but I listen to Jani and cry myself to sleep many nights. I don't know how old you are but I was in the same era of hair bands (haha) and Jani Lani always stuck with me.
He didn't really hate it but he just wanted people to listen to his more serious songs and didn't want to be defined solely by it. Also he is proud it's withstood the test of time
He didn’t like it because the record label forced him to write a hit and he was disappointed that a song that was wrote so quickly was the song that the band became known for.
It brought me to Warrant. I dont remember him for Cherry Pie. I listen more to his more serious songs. My favorite is Angel. Sad he could not recognize that.
I saw warrant open for Motley Crue back on the Dr. Feelgood tour. Warrant was just making a name for themselves. Still one of the best shows I've even seen.
im 15 and i love 80's glam rock hard rock metal with bands like warrant scorpions and metallica its sad that most of todays rock doesn't have the quality that these bands have
WHOA!!!! This is one SMOKIN' LIVE version of Cherry Pie by Warrant. Man, I miss Jani Lane. He was one great singer. The Guitar Solo at the beginning KICKS SERIOUS ASS!!!! That is one COOL looking guitar man!!! Just like the American Flag!!! HELL YEAH!!!! R.I.P. JANI LANE
If you check the topic video for it, it's a Columbia Records record from '90. Columbia is a division of Sony Music Entertainment. Sony is the headline of plenty of conspiracies. Perhaps this could be one as well?
Jon Bon Jovi Because he didn't want to write it, someone wanted a hit song on the record so they made him write a shitty song in 10 minutes on a pizza box called cherry pie, the record was originally going to be called uncle toms cabin
Jon Bon Jovi he never wanted to make this kind of "poppy Glam rock" but the label pushed them to make a "hit" so he forcedly wrote the song in one night, he hated the song even before he made ir
He must be a genius to write this song over night and have it so kick ass but it wasn't even heart felt it was just to please the execs. This song is a masterpiece!!! Such a shame finding out now it was not even a song Jani wanted.
Breaking my heart. Another one of my musical icons & a true artist passing so young & needlessly. RIP to an amazing singer & artist...the wonderful Jani. Kicka** & bada** in heaven.
He was hot as he grew older he was in pain..mentaly i understand his lyrics..i loved him stil do blast him out..i saw red said alot about his pain he was clearly thinking when he wrote it ..n uncle toms cabin..deep..i hope hes somewere nice and peaceful. .god bless him big shame..alwsus we love you jani.lane..💓 Joanna UK..xxxx
I used to have such a crush on Jani because he could have almost been the twin of a guy I liked in school, whose last name was coincidentally also Lane.
Garry Moore, Phil Lynott, Cozy Powell, Wurzel, Ronny Dio and here´s the second Lead Singer and Frontman. R.I.P. JANI !!!!! They will Rock the Angels !!!
I remember seeing Jani Lane on one of those "What Happened to Hair Metal Bands" shows on VH-1 a lot of years ago. He said something that always stuck in my mind, to paraphrase, "When we got signed, we walked into Columbia records and there was a big poster of Warrant on the wall. A year or so later we walked back into Columbia again and there was a big poster of Alice In Chains on the wall. I knew our careers were pretty much over when that happened." RIP Jani Lane
He sounds different than in album... Not bad, pretty good in fact. Better than most of his collegues in that decade. And very fresh, fun and energetic live performance of cherry pie.
@sivanjohn I love Glam Metal and i think its fun and great party music, but I also recognize what youre saying man. Glam Metal was it´s own victim.... by 1990 it was too much.
@MrMegaFredzeppelin THANKS MAN!!!! I ONLY SPEAK THE TRUTH!!!!! THAT GUITAR SOLO JUST BLOWS ME AWAY MAN!!!! THAT IS ONE KICK-ASS GUITAR SOLO AND GUITAR!!!! ROCK ON!!!!
At numerous places on the web it says that the lyrics to “Cherry Pie” were written on a pizza box and it is on display at the Hard Rock Café in Destin Florida. Well, I was at the Hard Rock Café in Destin Florida about and hour ago and the box is NOT there. I specifically went in there to see it and even asked a waiter to point it out. It is not there. There is a pizza box with a Motley Crue song written on it but no Warrant pizza box. So where is it? Thanks for your help in solving this mystery.
