Good job man u got all typea of people upset with a comment.love it. He doesnt mean he literally is black. Some of u so dumb. Never known a black person who says u my nigga to a white guy? Gueas these white dudes whonarebpissed dont even have a single black friend
Possibly the greatest remix between an original and a rap song. This is probably my favorite remix of all time. Been jamming this since I found it years ago.
Okay!dude! I didn’t realize how well Michael McDonald’s voice and vocals would mesh so well with Warren G and Nate Dog’s voice! Beautiful! Love seeing generations coming together!🤟
@@BrandyTexas214 He had a stroke in late 2007 and another in 2008. It seemed to start a decline in his health that ended when he died in March 2011. COD was complications from multiple strokes
Interesting. My opinion has always been that he ruined the Doobie Brothers when he took over the main vocals. Their early music was awesome until McDonald became the frontman.
This version has been locked in my head *since I first heard it in the 90s / 00s.* I always expect Michael to come in after _"back up, back up 'cause it's on"_ (I keep forgettin' that it's a remix.)
Inconsistencies with the sound panning and volume, but other than that, I love the mash up. Like that the videos are combined, too. Every time I listen to Regulate, I always song along as Micheal McDonald anyway. Awesome.
Has no one mentioned the awesome freeze frame of Michael at the end? This video is one of the few things in life that is simultaneously hilarious and sublime. It’s amazing only 12 years separated the original music videos because their definitions of cool seem like they’re from different centuries.
I'm Soon to be 64 in July and baaaybae, I love hearing the original from both artists... but then when they mix it ⁉️ Ohhh that's that Funky Stuff 😅❤ When you Regulate with the Original Michael McDonald, you get an all-time Banger‼️ Salute 🫡 to the Mixmaster on this Jizzie 💃🏾 🥂🕺🏾
I absolutely LOVE MICHAEL McDonald music, he has the most soulful voice I've ever heard from a white guy, he was on the radio all the time when I was growing up in the 70's&80's--his vocals just carry you away, and put you at ease.🎤🔊🎶👂😌👂💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌷🌷🌷🌷☀☀☀☀
I remember when regulators first hit the airwaves growing up. You couldn’t go drive or walk anywhere without hearing someone bumping this song for months!! Warren G basically saved def jam with this track and his debut album! Let that sink in
What a collaboration by two completely different types of musical artists who have created one of the most iconic tunes of the last 30 years 40 years I don’t think anybody could do this nowadays. Mix two tunes in harmony like this.
I liked McDonald's first version, but when Warren and Nate got a hold of it, they elevated to a totally other place.. They found and held onto the 'soul' of the music track. McDonalds voice just sounds like stuff added, cause the writer/produceer didn't know where to go next.. The rappers took the essence and enhanced the music with their exquisitely balanced lyrics.. The raps, and the music never fight for the listeners attention, which I can't say for the original, 'I keep Forgetten'.. McDonald has written some great songs, and this is one of them.. I just feel on the original Regulate, it is perfection, polished, and true
I completely agree with everything you say, except the part where you think McDonald's voice seems like stuff added. I think his voice fits perfectly with the original song, it's a beautiful piece. This remix is a hell of a lot better though.
Quit all record santaja Fitzhugh 2000 19 baby keep forgetting not in love anymore keep forgetting things will never be the same keep forgetting you made that so clear
As someone mentioned in the comments Michael McDonald & Warren G/Nate dog an actual duet would have dominated the year. I guess the world wasn't ready for this team up back then.
Love it, This was the version that i remember being on the radio in the UK in the 90s, everytime I hear the original I keep wondering where is Michael lol.
Damn, this is the kind of shit I miss; listening to this back when I was 17. Now I'm the old geezer asking "what happened to music?" Great remix, brought me back to some of my better days.
