Hey, 4th&1 crew, it's your boy Cam Newton, and today's episode is getting intense. Warren Sapp, the defensive powerhouse himself, is coming at me live for calling him a "game manager." Now, for those who know Sapp and his legacy, you know this man is all about the game's heart and soul, so you can imagine the sparks flying when he digs into me over this comment. We're going to hash it out, discuss what "game manager" means in the context of his legendary career, and really dive into the nuances of football roles. It's a conversation full of passion, respect, and maybe a little bit of trash talk. So, gear up for an unforgettable exchange between two guys who live and breathe football.

As a Bucs fan... I can flat out say Brad Johnson was NEVER a game changer. We all know til this day, who ran those early 2000s Bucs teams. Sapp still doesn't like being wrong. 😂

I love Sapp since he played here and I played with his nephews in Young football but his unwillingness to admit the truth is exactly like the other analyst who can't comprehend that a game manager isn't a slight if your good but you can only be 1 of the 2 and to this point, without his playmakers, Purdy has only changed the game in a negative way and it's on video so I don't understand why they don't get it.

Big-time, it is so funny how the truth proves it self time, and time again. Everybody spoke off of what they thought it was versus what it was. No one really watched the entirety of the podcast so to assume via clips and snippets as high level reporters and analyst is poor on their part and unprofessional, but no one is speaking about that, though they just keep running with narratives because they don’t like him, and that goes for majority of these people online because they are lame

@@senchodaroola1of1It’s a dumbass term Cam used to create clickbait. The truth is, Cam Newton is a washed up has been that’s a youtuber now generating clicks and trying to stay relevant. @skillz78
@skillz78 3 месяца назад
I mean yes you are correct in that. But in Sapp defense most people will automatically hear game manger and have the same definition of what it means. Which is why the comment drew so much attention. I for one think of a game manager as someone who plays it safe and doesn’t do anything to win the game moreso not to lose it. Doesn’t take risks/gambles. Check downs. What made bucs defense great? They didn’t need a game changer at QB. Same with the Ravens. So how a game manager is viewed by Sapp is how most fans, players view it. A lot of replies in this comment section. Who honestly had the same outlook on what a game manager is that Cam has? I’ve never heard Tom Brady be labeled a game manager and an elite one at that. But I have heard people question how Tom won in SBs which kind of ties in to what Cam definition of a game manager is.

This Niner squad has a top offense. Not top defense. Purdy threw for almost 10 yards per pass attempt while breaking the 49 ers single season passing yards. In the NFC championship game his ability to elude sacks and run for first downs in the second half changed the game. The defense didn’t change anything as they couldn’t barely get the lions to punt. If it wasn’t for Detroit going for it on 2 4th downs while they was in field goal range then they would have won easily. They drove down the field easily all game. Even in the 2nd half

Brad Johnson was definitely a game manager lol no questions about it. I think when people hear the term Game Manager they immediately think oh just an average QB who’s riding along. Tom Brady was the greatest game manager ever. He wasn’t trying to make a play every down took what the defense gave him until it was needed for him to make a play. The QBs who do the most winning are game managers. Both Purdy and Mahomes did a great job managing the game and knowing when to make a play vs letting the game flow. On a side note Sapp should never mention Troy Aikman and Brad Johnson in the same sentence their nowhere close to each other. Troy was game manager but when it was time he was on it.

This one of the main reasons why I don't put team success at the top of the list when we are critiquing these quarterbacks. People will use any stat in the world to cover up their eyes. I'm a Ravens fan, heavy and when they won the Chip in 2000, the team's quarterback was a man by the name of Trent Dilfer, maybe you've heard of him. Well guess what, after the season they went and paid a bunch of money to sign Elvis Grbac, even after Dilfer had lead them to winning the Super Bowl. There are plenty of noodle arm quarterbacks that have had team success, that does not in any way qualify them being classified as "Game Changers". We all have eyes and we know what that guy looks like.

Currently there are really only 3 qbs right now who can do that consistently and a highe level. Mahomes, Lamar and Allen. Ar-15 shows a small sample size of this. Arod in his prime, even a few years ago also had this ability.
