Wonderful interview with a wonderful musician. In the late '70s, I heard and recorded Warren with Scott Hamilton in a club with Basie in the audience playing "Blue and Sentimental" that Prez had recorded with Basie in the '30s. Around the turn of the century, I heard Warren with Annie Ross in a NY club. He's one of my very favorite players whose warmth comes through in every note, without question among the best of his generation. This is one of the most insightful interviews in this series.

No idea how to express it better, but Warren Vache talks and tells stories the way how I imagined as a kid Jazz musicians would do. He is cool, a man who as seen and knows a lot, an eloquent man, showing not much facial expression while talking, apart by his eyes, being full of humor, wisdom and a lot of love for his art. He is hip in the best way. Thank you so much for all these wonderful interviews I have the pleasure to watch evening after evening. Your interviews will go to be interesting for people for a long long time telling people stories about this wonderful music called Jazz. Thank you so much from Germany for your important and also entertaining work.

Have you seen the interview Joe Williams did with Milt Hinton? That's one of our favorites. It's a bit hard to understand Milt, so you may want to turn on the closed captioning (click CC). So glad you are enjoying our efforts.

It’s an interesting story of a working Jazz musician facing realitities. Like to hear Warren talk about his heroes and his pasion for his kind of music. And lets face it Warren is a (hellofva) true musician and I like to hear him play and I admirer him. I also like this kind of interviews. I produced an interwiev myself with Scott Hamilton ( it’s called “Great Scott” and it in on RU-vid). But it’s nice to hear Warrens story. Take care Warren !

I think I’ve got a name for it... “good music” because bad music doesn’t swing!
