I think it would be really interesting if Spiresight's actions end up leading to a compromise, maybe this is the first major villain that doesn't need to be 'defeated', just reasoned with. I hope that's the case anyway.

Ok real quick hot takes, Berrynose was a spy when he was exiled When they get back from the gathering in the next book bramblestars body will be gone, and the guards will be dead, unconscious, or possessed And finally more cats are going not only die, but spiresight has struck a deal with other cats, and more cats will be killed Also either squirrelflight will become squirrelstar or she will die by the end of this arc.

Is it possible Spiresight was the one who made the branch fall on Antfur in The Silent Thaw? I mean, Antfur did leave the Guardian Cats. Could that be Spiresight’s revenge? Now it makes a lot of sense!

On the Spiresight is Shadowsight’s “mysterious voice” theory, in chapter 13 in Veil of Shadows the imposter admitted the HE was the voice that Shadowsight heard.

I thought the imposter's line about Spiresight implied he would trap his spirit (like the real Bramblestar), not that Spiresight was working with him.

I am so glad I pre-ordered this book way back in March and have been rereading the Warriors series in chronological order based off of the timeline and not by book release which I checked the wiki for to understand which book happens in between the main books. (Manga doesn't count for me due to their confusing place in the story and I just don't care when it comes to the timeline of events)

I love this theory!!! I also wanna state, that Im on Spiresight's side sometimes, he is right about the messed up code, I can understand some rules but others are just messed up

My theory is: So there's Starclan and then there's a greater force, cause when has Starclan been, well, powerful. And the greater force has gotten tired of the Clans following this flawed, outdated code, so they have decided to show them how bad it is by forcing them to follow it, using Spiresight as the spokes cat. The greater force wants the Clans to make a code that would work better in the situation they're in. That's my theory, I know it doesn't sound like something the books would follow but I think it would be cool.

I would be okay with Ashfur being a pawn but I seriously believe that Harestar is not the real Harestar. He came back which I don’t think is possible so it’s another spirit cat. The next book is literally called Darkness Within so obviously it has to be a Dark Forest Cat! What else could they do to top what happened at the end of Veil of Shadows. I'd Say that Spiresight isn't bad. Im thinking, what if... He saw bramblefake attacking and maybe wanted to Save Shadowsight, so he agreed to be informant for bramblefake, so Shadowsight can live?

*really, really really long theory and VoS spoiler alert* I mean spiresight is pretty controversial inside the actual books. Most of the guardian cats think he’s crazy, while the Clan cats were all like wow a non Clan cat with super StarClan powers, awesome! And also, the imposter isn’t working alone, and he told Shadowsight that he could see other spirits, so it could be any ghost cat. I think Spiresight might be involved, but maybe some other ghost convinced him to take over Bramblestar’s body and then after, he found Spiresight and started conspiring with him. (I guess you could call him... Conspiresight. I know I’m so funny) And also, one thing I don’t really think Spiresight is going to be the main villain either because he doesn’t really have a motive. He chose to come with Tigerheart and Dovewing and chose to give his life to save their kit. When we were in his POV in the VoS prologue he seemed reasonably horrified and surprised at Shadowsight being attacked. The imposter says he “bent the skinny black cat with yellow eyes to his will” or something like that, so I don’t think Spiresight will be the main villain, though it’s an interesting theory. And, if Shadowsight was right, it was the fake StarClan that killed Antfur, which doesn’t make sense because he was a guardian cat. Maybe it would be to bring him onto Spiresight’s side, if your theory was correct, because after he denies, no one sees or mentions his ghost After reading Veil of Shadows, I’m almost completely sure it’s Ashfur, but I was really really hoping it wasn’t him because I feel like he got his peace and became just another StarClan cat and his time to shine as a villain just ended with long shadows. But, it could have been another evil spirit manipulating him. But, one thing that doesn’t add up is that at the end of his life, Ashfur hated Squirrelflight so much that he wanted to murder the cats he thought were her children to make her feel pain. I guess that in his time in StarClan he realised he loved her more than he hated her. I think the cats who were named as codebreakers were a mix of who Ashfur and the mystery cat wanted gone. Like Ashfur would’ve hated Lionblaze and Jayfeather because Squilf still loved them and bc they foiled his plans murdering them. He prob doesn’t even want them gone for Squilf, but he wants revenge. Dovewing Mothwing don’t really have a reason to be hated by Ashfur, but I think maybe the mystery cat was a Dark Forest cat who wanted revenge on the Clans. Mothwing and Dovewing both were big parts in destroying the Dark Forest along with Jayfeather and Lionblaze, who were all condemned. I don’t really have an explanation for Squilf or Twigbranch, but maybe the cat hated Squilf and Twig is sorta like a granddaughter to her and they might have wanted to take Alderboi too but like they didn’t want to DESTROY the Clans and maybe taking both med cats from a Clan wasn’t the best idea? But they like changed their minds in VoS? Yeah idk. And yes, Root x Bristle is adorable. As much as I ship Root x Shadow, I still really really love Root x Bristle and I’m okay if my baby wants to go after Ivybaby. I like the idea that the warrior code will change because both of my Rootspring ships are with cats from other clans and I couldn’t handle another forbidden romance. I think the pain that Ashfur feels is heartbreak that Squilf is gone or dead, and I think he was driven mad or stupid with guilt because if Squirrelflight was dead, she would obviously watch over ThunderClan and her kits and if he could see ghosts then he would see that Squilf wasn’t there. I also just hope that Ivypool is important in the “Great Battle” because I like her and she might be able to lead the way into the Dark Forest so all the Dark Forest trainees who were so hated on (I think in Dovewing’s Silence and Crowfeather’s Trial) would be the ones to save the Clans and stuff

It’s a shame that it’s Ashfur. I really liked to think Ashfur changed when he went to Starclan, the way he’s acting as the imposter is incredibly out of character for him. It’s a very poor choice on the Erins behalf.

I thought the part where Ashfur said that he could bend any cat to his will, just ask Spiresight, meant that he might have killed Spiresight’s ghost somehow or just bent him to Ashfur’s will, but now I see a new interesting point of view :0

I am not a long time warriors fan but this feels like Talons Of Power and Poison Jungle when thing go full on dark. (Warning for anyone interested in wof). In Talons Of Power darkstalker strips turtle of his magic and in prisons him while the icewings die of dark stalkers magic sickness. On the other talon in Poison Jungle ends with the breath of evil taking control of everyone on the continent a portion of the chrysalis, the hivewings (excluding Cricket and Bumblebee) as sundew and the rest of the leaf wings are following tsunami into the icewing territory witch could cause a rain-ice war , so a lot of tension in the air. Also the fandom is currently in all out war to determine who sky is.

Can I just point out Harestar and Mistystar at the end? Them wanting to punish code breakers is out of behaviour, especially considering their pasts and how the other leaders find it wrong to punish them. I believe that there are more spirits who are also taking control of the other leaders, starting out with the weaker ones with weaker links

I personally don’t think Spiresight is the mastermind, rather when Ashfur was talking about “ask that skinny black cat” he meant that he scared him into obedience. I think it would be interesting if Bramblestar’s body was killed, but they can’t find his ghost. Then Squirrelflight at first goes on as leader, trying to be strong. Then she gets sick or injured or something, and gets depressed. Afterwards she could start seeing Bramblestar, but it isn’t known if she is actually seeing his ghost or is just going crazy.

It's not Ashfur. 1. The imposter killed someone before the Broken Code, Ashfur didn't, only made attempts 2. Squirrelflight didn't see or hear the imposter that often, she have seen Ashfur everyday 3. Ashfur doesn't have good motivation to be the imposter. He already forgave everyone + apologized. Way too much time has passed and him eliminating the entire forest because he is still trying to hurt one cat would be way too far-fetched and a pretty disappointing move from the Hunters. I think it's Hawkfrost, because he killed Hollyleaf and Firestar, and Squirrelflight did know him but didn't speak to him that often, he is a tom, he has blue eyes, but the only problem is - he's dead two times, so I'm not sure

Jayfeather is the Doctor McCoy of Warriors. The Warrior Code is only a guideline than the actual rule, it's meant to broken. The moonstone could be the hammer that breaks that barrier that kept Starclan silent.

I never thought of spiresight that way...

I've always wanted and honestly, expected, the code surrounding forbidden relationships to change. Mainly, in the first arc Silverstream was a prominent character, and a quote from her is what made me expect the code to change. "There's so much more than our little clan .... if the warrior code can't deal with that, then maybe the warrior code needs to change." It just feels like such a powerful quote that got ignored and forgotten.

Veil of Shadows has one of my favorite book cover designs. What can I say, I'm a sucker for cool colors used for mystical and wispy designs. Oof typical shipper demeanor smh
