Kobe blew a 3-1 lead There were bad calls both ways, the NBA has horrible officiating, but that was a foul at the end of the game but it doesn't matter now the game is over.

Just like mark Jackson said. don't be upset at the officials because it all balances out. There was a play where draymond clearly ran liggins over and scored but there was no call. so yeah it was a foul at the end but if the refs had gotten it right throughout the entire game the warriors still would've lost
@Zerk1375

Why are you disrespecting Lebron like that? "Lebron bricks the freethrow; ball don't lie" why did you gloss over the fact that his 16 points kept them in the game?

BBALLBREAKDOWN Dude your breakdowns are amazing but i saw what the refs were doing when you have an amazing game like that going on you don't want to call every tech and every foul it just ruins the game for the fans and for players just like the finals last year. I understand that the cavs benefit from this type of play because there more physical, but the warriors don't mind it either because they don't want every call being made either.

Warrior: Before having Durant: everyone who is on the floor is always in constant motion. Now with Durant: you can see some players "relax" on the floor. Not very much movement, just let the star player do the work. *cough* Durant, not Curry *cough*

When did KD light up Lebron? Did I watch a different game? You said he lit LeBron up so much that they had to put Jefferson on KD. Really? KD made 11 baskets in this game: 1st bucket was on Liggins (on a fast break) 2nd bucket was the dunk on Love. 3rd bucket was on Shump 4th bucket was on Liggins (Lebron was on the bench) 5th basket was on Jefferson (fast break) 6th basket was on Lebron (that is the one you showed in your video, the point where you said he was lighting LeBron up so badly, that they had to switch Jefferson on to him. That was his first basket he made on LeBron). 7th bucket was on Tristan 8th bucket was Lebron's fault (Tristan was guarding KD, got screened off and Lebron (the help) was late to contest the jump shot). 9th bucket was on Jefferson 10th bucket was on Jefferson 11th bucket was Love's fault (Shump got screened off and Love (the help) was late. KD also got fouled 5 times. 1st fouled was drawn on Tristan (on a fast break) 2nd foul, he was being guarded by and fouled by Liggins 3rd foul was on Love, but it was Lebron's fault (the one you showed in your video, where KD blew by Lebron). 4th Foul was off ball, Lebron pushed Curry into KD, while KD was in his shooting motion. 5th foul was an and-1 on Liggins (Lebron was not on the floor). In sum, KD scored one time on Lebron and there was one other bucket that was Lebron's fault for helping late. KD never got fouled by Lebron but went to the line twice because of Lebron's mistake. HOW IN THE WORLD DOES ANY OF THIS QUALIFY AS BEING LIT UP? When KD wanted to go one-on-one, the Warriors literally screened Lebron to get him off KD, BEFORE they even passed the ball to KD. I've had a conversation with you before about your Lebron and Westbrook hate but you chalked it up to me just being a delusional Lebron fan. What's really sad is that I believe you don't intentionally do this. At least Skip Bayless knows he is biased against Lebron. You on the other hand, think you are being objective. When KD scored, you said it was because Lebron could not hang with KD. When Lebron was scoring, you said it was because the Warriors played great defense but Lebron just made tough shots. Coach honestly, I noticed you tried to be objective in this video, you just can't help yourself. It's not your fault.
@katx9125
@katx9125 7 лет назад
He is so biased it's fucking hilarious. He does this with every video involving lebron.
@bballbreakdown
@bballbreakdown 7 лет назад
+Segemenge fantastic analysis. I didn't chart it so if you did it right, then you have a great point. My memory from watching live was that LeBron started on him and guarded him for many possessions, and KD had 28pts thru 3 quarters, so I apologize and should've said he lit the Cavs up instead. If I have time, I'll go thru the footage and see
@segemenge
@segemenge 7 лет назад
+BBALLBREAKDOWN I honestly believe what you are saying, that's why I said you don't even realize you are doing this to Lebron. Honestly, this is not the first Lebron video where I truly felt you thought you were being objective while I noticed some bias.

That should have been a foul, yes, but the Cavaliers came back from a 14 point deficit. The Warriors should never have had the game in such a close situation where a missed foul could change the outcome of the game.
@Peran12
@Peran12 7 лет назад
facts right here folks.
@smivlibee5936
@smivlibee5936 7 лет назад
Thats not a good argument. It happens in the NBA all the time ... the NBA is a game of runs any team and can get streaky and come back from a deficit its a league of professionals. So the refs have to be professionals too and do their jobs. But its an entertainment league so they call certain calls in the final seconds of the game ...
@dre32pitt
@dre32pitt 7 лет назад
this is very true.. but a missed call at a critical moment is crucial, no matter how the game unfolded. Think Fail Mary (SEA vs. GB), Dez Bryant in GB, Crabtree getting held in the endzone in the SB.. If i was the NBA, i would have one ref watch each game from Secaucus on a headset with direct comms to the refs at said game. if they miss something, the "overwatch" ref can make a call. For instance, lebron swinging on the rim like he's a 6 year old. Green got called for hanging on the rim (different game this year) for half the amount of time that lebron did AND Green had an actual player within 3 feet of him. I didnt see anyone near lebron...

Dedicated12 they didn't do that last game but no he's not elite
@travz21
@travz21 7 лет назад
No point guard is an elite defender. They are the weakest link on every team. The best defensive point guard in the league last year was like 40th overall. Size matters on defense no matter how good you are. With that said, Curry was the 5th best PG defensively which is very respectable considering he's by far the biggest offensive threat in the league.
@ralx225b
@ralx225b 7 лет назад
Yep because hand -checking was taken away and replaced with zone defense, point guard is the hardest position to guard since most of the point guards in the league are also the fastest players in the league. This is why most point guards give up more points at their position than most other positions in the league. Man to man defense has become harder in this era, but team defense overall has improved.

@retsea1
@retsea1 7 лет назад
Because Lebron didn't get another clutch block, and three back-to-back threes to change the entire complexion of the game . . . Because Old Man River didn't get two clutch posterizer dunks . . . Because Lebron didn't hit Shumpert with the clutch assist, and Shumpert didn't make the shot . . . Last second shot-making is the most irrelevant type of clutchness that exists in the NBA. The Pistons game proves that.

Why does Coach Nick give Curry a pass when he was non existent till he hit that go ahead three? Also coach forgets that KD went 0-5 in the fourth taking bad shots, but highlights that "Bron isnt a good matchup for KD, he cant hang with him." Lebron was guarding Klay after he got hot scoring 24 points and Klay had ZERO points after when Bron was on him. He forgets that Liggins, A NO NAME FROM THE D LEAGUE, locked up a TWO TIME UNANIMOUS MVP to 11 points. Lets talk about Stephs "elite defense" when he was SUBBED OUT the last couple seconds ILLEGALLY which results in tech free throws, if you want to be technical. There was also times where KD stood around and didnt play good defense or didnt get into the flow off the offense. I dont get why he hates Westbrook and Lebron. Bron has the highest IQ in the league better than 99% of PGs. Kyrie didnt start passing till Bron made him to now his assists going up...

i guess the no tech on Lebron offset with them not calling the illegal substitution of Curry on that final Cavs possession when Kyrie hit the shot over Klay. There was no timeout only a review to make sure the clock was correct thus he couldn't be subbed out when he was...

Jack Sung actually Alejandro is correct it was a legal sub. But usually you wouldn't be able to substitute during a ref review but since it was after a 24 sec it was a dead ball making it legal. I Didn't know a 24 second violation was a dead ball though. I stand corrected

Dana McCall You clearly don't know much about basketball. First, there are different types of defense strategy, some teams believe the get the ball out of the hands of superstars and live with semi open shots from role players, some teams believe to give every player including the star players contested long 2s not other shots, some teams believe in ice everything, double team on every possesions and make other team to turn the ball over, so they can take advantage in fastbreaks. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what type of defensive strategy you believe, as long as your opponent scored less than you do, you win the ball game. that being said, i think it makes more sense if we discuss play by play defense not defense in general, because the warriors really just lose by 1 point it's not like the Cavs are much better in defense.

Coach Nick, I've noticed that the Cavs ball movement is significantly better under Lue than it was under Blatt. The only instances where they looked stagnant in the Lue era were Games 1 and 2 of the finals last year. Is this Lue related, chemistry related, or both?
@omieg89
@omieg89 7 лет назад
lichlich123 Lebron takes some possessions to himself to isolate and get a basket and coach nick would qualify that as ball stopping. He points it out in his other videos but he doesn't call out Durant or Curry for ballstopping.
@retsea1
@retsea1 7 лет назад
They don't actually stop the ball, though. Stopping the ball is Melo, where you aren't really moving it towards a productive end point in enough time. Lebron and Kyrie on the other hand (Kyrie more so when he's playing with Lebron on the floor) always tend to make the best decision possible, which can be playmaking, passing the ball, or scoring.

I have followed you almost since the beginning, Coach Nick. I have used your videos to teach players and people young and old on how to play and watch the game. I wanted to make a few observations that didn't make this video, and understandably so. 1. Draymond Green should of gotten his 2nd tech after running away from the refs on not one foul call, but two. Kevin Durant dunked on Kevin Love in the first quarter, and did the same thing to Love that Jefferson did to him with no tech. While Lebron hung on the rim like a jungle gym, Draymond also pulled himself up on the rim earlier in the game. May not have been swinging on the rim, but if we are going by the "letter of the law", that should have been a tech too....
@mjlover2334
@mjlover2334 7 лет назад
Lastly, Jefferson stepped on Durant's foot and tripped him which is technically a foul. However, i would say this. When was the last time the refs called a foul like this late in the game with the match in the balance? Let's take it to legendary status. Have you ever witnessed Jordan, Reggie Miller, Kobe, or most of the other legendary closers allow themselves to be tripped in that situation? It sounds unfair, but that is how i feel about the ridiculous hate Lebron James gets on a regular basis. Great video, good game, and keep up the good work Coach Nick!

Coach Nick c'mon.. You say KD makes it clear LBJ can't hang with him and it's not a good match up for LBJ but we both know if these 2 make the finals(likely Cavs will, I'm not convinced Warriors will) then LBJ is gonna amp up the defense just like he does every year. Great analysis coach!! What do you think about Steve Kerr lines ups and play calls? I feel he experiments a lot which takes the team of sync every time they make a run. Also, I can't see why ZaZa is so important to him, even though he is totally useless, except maybe passing. All other centers on the bench are more effective than him. One of the weakest points for GSW is the center, so why not working on developing Javale and Damian by giving them more minutes. Javale is scoring one point per minute and gives the GSW a great shot of energy when he is on the floor. He catches lobs, he can dunk, he helps spread the defense, has much better chances for put backs and offensive rebounds. On defense he can block or alter many shots under the basket. David west is tough and has a very good mid-range jumper. It would be great to know your thoughts on that.

5:46 that's a travel to me, and just in front of the ref's eyes. Kyrie had a great 4th quarter though, but the win could have gone the other way if the refs had reffed the game more instead of just watching. The great thing about not living in an NBA town is that you can be a fan of multiple teams, and I am a fan of both these two. I would have been glad no matter who ended up with the win, and not to take anything away from the Cavs or Irvings awesome late game heroics, but it sucks that the Warriors didn't get a chance to put up a proper shot due to a foul play. I called it a foul after the game and people said I was crazy, Cavs fanboy, Lebron d-rider etc :)) then the NBA issues a statement acknowledging that it really was a foul, and people still find excuses for it.

You cannot step on top of someone's foot. That's always a foul. Jefferson was making a ton of body contact with KD, which is already questionable. KD then got his foot down before Jefferson, and Jefferson stepped on KD's foot, causing him to trip. A small push in the back also helped KD fall down. That's a clear foul.
