Curry's moments are him sitting the 4th quarter because they are up
@skillethead15
@skillethead15 Год назад
The only criticism of Steph is that he shrinks in big moments sometimes. He is universally regarded as the greatest shooter of all time and even his haters acknowledge him as at least a top 20 player and top 5 PG ever. It's just that it seems like every time in the Finals when the game is close and they need Steph to step up and put the team on his back, he doesn't do it. Like that first quarter in game one. When was the last time you saw Steph do that in the fourth of a close game? We have seen him do it a bunch when they are already up 15+ points but never when the game is in the balance.

Steph not winning Finals MVP in 2015 reflects on the voters more than his performance. It was ridiculous he didn't win. GS would still have had a chance to win if Iggy wasn't there. Take Steph out and they would have had no chance whatsoever.

He probably should have won but I think some of the trouble Iggy put on LeBron defensively in the later games swayed people a lot. When he was in the game defending LeBron he was shooting 38%, granted he was still pumping numbers anyways. But more than anything I think he got it because of how the series turned so hard in game 4 when Kerr made the roster change to throw him in as starting and the team as a whole began the small ball thing. I think when you see that a team is down 2-1 and then one guy gets thrown in as the primary big roster change and then the team rattles off three straight wins like they did sways people a lot right or wrong. But in the end I think I’d have to agree that if you have that series without Steph or without Iggy that the bigger impact would be not having Steph. Even as strong of defense that Iggy got praised for LeBron averaged something like mid 30s a game that series and got four votes even with the Cavs having an average loss of around 14 points. Just stinks how much this gets used to diminish Steph

Derrick Fisher's 0.4 second game winner, Robert Horrys famous buzzer beater in game 5 vs Kings (off a Kobe and Shaq miss). Artests game winning putback (off a Kobe airball) in game 5 vs the suns, Gasol's series winning putback in game 6 vs Thunder (off a Kobe miss), Fisher's game tying 3 in 2009 finals game 4 then in Ot he hits ANOTHER game winning 3. Steph was robbed of FMVP in 2015. The voters were so hellbent on giving the award to LeBron that they totally disregarded how Steph took over the game and won in OT. People want to pigeonhole the entire series from his poor performances in games 2 & 3, but Steph was spectacular in every game the Warriors won. Steph only had one bad Finals (2016) and even that was better than his contemporary's worst finals showing. I think some people are upset that he "ruined" the legacy a particular player. It is crazy to think that he single handidly changed the game, every dam team in the league tries to emulate him, attracts more fans, and let's kids believe a normal sized guy can make it into the league by working hard on developing their shot, inspiring them to get into the sport. It's more about the medias' inability to get over their own biases because they can't appreciate what Steph is and chose to hate on him for what he isn't. It's sad cuz when he hangs is it up, there won't be a player like him to lace up ever again. Absolute BS from Rob Parker on this one! Steph's career, in part, is built on his shot making ability. He's made some of the most unbeleiable shots in regular season and playoffs history, and not just 3 pointers or jump shots, but even floaters and layups. Yeah he hasn't dunked or body bumped a block contest and threw down the hammer like a kobe or lebron, but come on.... he literally has shown the world how to dominate as a guard or a 'shorter' player that doesn't have hops like AI or wade or donnavon mitchell etc. He shot creates, controls pace, attacks, draws attention so defenses break down and has always shown effort on defense, which mind you many shorter players don't bother to. This is just ignorant hatred. Rob's brain is rusted so he can't remember anything! Here's the best part about Steph and GSW in this era- they are the best 3rd quarter team in the history of the game. That's their formula, the deflate the opponent in the 3rd so they don;t need to in the 4th. in the 73-9 season, Curry didnt play so many minutes in the 4th quarter because they were blowing out teams. That's a reason for not having those crazy end of game shots or memorable bs that Parker is talking of. He's consstenty made those crazy memorable, insane and unbeleivable shots through 3 quarters all season and playoffs long ! Steph doesn't need a iconic shot... his ability, his movement and he in himself is ICONIC. He's made the 3pt iconic, he's made the half court shot iconic, he's made the 30ft step back iconic, he's made a pre-game workout iconic, and he made playing selflessly in a system and moving without the ball iconic.
