Just a suggestion-leave the CC on when watching VP, sometimes they have little gems in them. You should watch this again with the captions on and note the last line. Oh, and the fifth guy is Earl, but he wasn't in Drunken Sailor, he'd left the group before that.
You guys are confusing Earl with Jose Rosario Jr. that was in Drunken Sailor. I did the same thing when I was very new to the group and I thought it was Earl in Hoist the Colours. 😅
This is the one that got me 100% hooked on VoicePlay. And I know I'm not alone! 🤯 I love everything they do! 🔥This is my fav formation, with Earl and J.
So much fun. and when Geoff goes up into the rafters then slides all the way down to the basement.... oooh... soo good. The whole song is a wonderful cover: arrangement, costuming, staging.
VoicePlay and Geoff always bring emotion to a song where it might have been missing in the original. I've seen the movie recently and the songs you mention all felt rather flat and empty after hearing VP and Geoff do them. I think you were talking about Earl Elkins Jnr , he's the chunky guy, but he wasn't in the Drunken Sailor, as he left the group in 2020.
I can't wait until I see you do this Christmas song The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) - VoicePlay Ft Deejay Young which Lanye did a speed up one on his Instagram or Tik Tok that made sound like Chipmunks
This is the one that started my VoicePlay journey. I haven't recovered. Other ones that display Geoff's huge range all in one phrase are Enemy and the Little Mermaid Medley (Ursula's song).
This song was my first introduction to Voiceplay and it was what made me fall in love with them. I never tire of hearing it and watching reactions to it
Please watch the two videos that dropped yesterday. VoicePlay did Jingle Bell Rock Mean Girls version and Geoff did Blue Christmas and both are hilarious!
It's definitely a cool one. Earl was in this. Geoff has a new one "Blue Christmas" unlike any version I'd heard before. VoicePlay is doing the Mean Girls version Jingle Bell Rock.
Hi as one of your new subscribers, I’m going to recommend another Voiceplay song cover Disney’s Hellfire. It is amazing and Geoff hits some fantastically low notes. Please react to this song.
I class it as a Halloween movie because atmosphere and theme are more important than time frame. I agree, the arrangement is great, but wasn't it a Boogie solo in the movie? The trick-or-treaters didn't sing here! PS Earl Elkins, I think his name is, was their high tenor for a long time. He's the burly guy. He wasn't in Drunken Sailor; that was recent.
Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci released their new Christmas videos yesterday. Voiceplay... Jingle Bell Rock. Layne is Grinch, Geoff is Oogie Boogie, Eli is Santa and Cesar is Buddy the Elf. Geoff... Blue Christmas. Cameo by his wife Kathy.
@@weaintraisedrightpodcast I thought you might have I lose track because I watch a lot of reactions! It's fun to see someone who hasn't seen Geoff's amazing low/high notes. I'll try to keep this over sixty brain on the uptake.
I love when they pull out the character voices. You know it's gonna be a good time when you hear that, lol. Also, the guy you were thinking of is Earl. (He actually wasn't in Drunken Sailor tho. That was Josè Rosario Jr)
To prepare yourselves for the latest Voiceplay video, the Mean Girls version of Jingle Bell Rock, if you aren't familiar with that movie, I'd suggest you check out a RU-vid clip of that routine from the Mean Girls movie before viewing the VP cover. Not essential, but it helps. Also, Geoff's version of Blue Christmas is a treat. Both are short (around 2 minutes each) so you could even do them in one reaction if you wanted to.
First off- is AJ okay? That metaphor kinda got away from him... 🤣 Next up, the guy you're thinking of that's still in the group is Earl Elkins Jr. He was an OG member of the group, back in 1997, and he left in 2020 for personal reasons. The other one of the child trio was indeed J. None; he continued on witth the group until about a year after Earl left, and Cesar joined up a few months after J's departure. The guy in Drunken Sailor was Matthew "Bucky" Buckner (aka Bucky the Gamer Dad). He was also part of VoicePlay at one point, but well before they were actually called VoicePlay. Bucky also provided the choreography for Geoff's Monster Mash video.
