@Nigel DeBruin Actually, the Admiral Graf Spee was officially classefied as a Heavy Cruiser/Pocket Battleship and the Scharnhorst as a Battleship.

@@BrokenAngelWings The Graf was never "officially" classified as a "pocket battleship", though it was often called that by the British. It was originally classified as a "panzerschiff", ostensibly a small battleship or battlecruiser, but that was bs given its capabilities (too slow and probably also not armoured enough to be a battlecruiser, and definitely not heavily armoured enough to be a battleship), and it was rightfully reclassified as a heavy cruiser in 1940. A very unusual ship, along with the other Deutchland class ships. The calibre of the main guns was what made so many people think that it was a battleship or battlecruiser.

@Nigel DeBruin The Scharnhorst was a fast battleship with somewhat small guns, though the British apparently often referred to it as a battlecruiser. The germans often sacrificed main gun calibre in favor of speed and protection, aside from the Deautchland class ships, which were the exact opposite of that.

past tier IV* Their only completed battleships ingame are Oktyabryskya Revolutsya and Gangut (which are the same ship btw). All the others were either never completed or stayed on the drawing board.

I was expecting to see Sovetsky Soyuz - since they've built part of hull and a single gun for it.

@@whateverwhatever7465 The Espana-class dreadnoughts could be a good choice as Tier 3 Premium battleships. They were the only dreadnoughts used by Spain and also the smallest ships of the Dreadnought type. Nevertheless, they had a broadside consisting of 8 x 12-inch (305mm) guns, which would match the firepower of most other Tier 3 BBs. 3 Ships of the class were in Service.

Yeah. Since they included the fantasy ships, where was Monty? She was excluded because she would have completely outclassed the Kremlin. In fact if we go with the real Kremlin design the Iowa would too. Kremlin was designed to have 9x406mm guns each shell weighing 2,443 pounds vs the Iowa's and Monty's 2,700 pounds. Also, weight isn't everything. The penetration of the shell at 14,870 yards was 16" vertical armor. The Colorado had 16" of vertical armor penetration at 20,300 yards. The Iowa had 16" of vertical armor penetration at 25,000 yards. Almost 6,000 yards further but the Colorado has the same penetration despite the shell being 200 pounds lighter. The Kremlin would have been completely outclassed by even the North Carolina had it actually been built yet it was supposed to be the counter for the USS Montana.

The other ships of the game aren't fake. They are just projects that weren't or couldn't be completed in actual history

PEF was started in 1915 but never completed, she was finally launched in 1920 and the unfinished hull was broken up in 1921, there is a picture of her sitting next to the unfinished Bayern class battleship Wurttemberg.

but they did give them special treatment again. They included the Izmail which was never completed. Only the hull was built yet they included it. Yet they didnt include any ships of the Amagi class...

@@finol6127 Izmail was launched but not completed, while Amagi was never launched (Akagi was converted to CV). That's probably why WG included Izmail but not Amagi.

Jean Bart could have been included, the ship was like almost complete right? The main guns still fired I believe Edit: and it saw some action

@Nargacuga Wyvern Amagi (the lead ship of the class, Akagi was the second) would be a CV even if it wasn't totaled in Great Kantō earthquake. Washington Naval Treaty allows each country to convert 2 incomplete BB or BC hulls to 30k ton CVs; Japan got to keep Amagi and Akagi, given that they would be completed as CVs (As a side note, Amagi was FUBARed in the earthquake barely less than 2 years after the treaty was signed, therefore Japan filled the quota with Kaga, the 2nd Tosa class BB that was planned to be scrapped). In the other words, regardless of Amagi being completed or not IRL, BC Amagi is always a paper ship.

Yes, I was waiting to see Jean Bart as well. Considering that at least 2 of the displayed Soviet BBs were never completed, yet JB was finally fully completed and commissioned in 1955, while also being in combat in 1942 while unfinished... October Revolution is IRL the Gangut rebuilt inter-war. Imperator Nikolai was launched but never completed even to the level of Jean Bart. Izmail was an unfinished Borodino-class battlecruiser, none of the 4 of which were completed. The Soviets literally have one real battleship. Would have been more historically accurate to have HMS Royal Sovereign/Arkhangelsk in the line-up. A fair bit of a misstep by WG on an otherwise great video. The music was very good too, especially for the Italian line.

They are comparing lengths, so unless Jean Bart was longer than the Richelieu it makes sense not to show it.

@@jsl985 Ah crap, I'm such an idiot. I just remembered that JB is tier IX and saw that Richie-loo-loo is tier VIII and had a massive brain fart thinking they were not of the same class! So... I retract what I said about including the JB. Same reason they didn't include Tirpitz.

A-150 is in the game as the Shikishima, she's available for 32,000 Steel (very rare resource earned in competitive modes).

Except the tier 9 Iowa is comparable to the tier 10 Yamato. The creation of tier levels is not even universal and not actually used in real life, it’s Wargamings creation.

@@whateverwhatever7465 True, but this video is about size of battleships. In addition to that, they wrote Roma with 238,8 m of length, and that's simply wrong. A further element is that a in the actual game Roma and Vittorio Veneto are visually identical, except for the camo. They both look like the actual Roma, without considering the changes in the bow and in the main bridge placement.

They only show one ship of each class and they chose Roma.

Prinz Eitel Friedrich was a Mackensen class battlecruiser. She was launched but was never finished due to the surrender of Germany

Well, in the Cold War, the Americans were not up to jokes))) And during the war it was almost impossible to build battleships, they began to build, but then cut to get metal and then this metal went on weapons, etc.

@@wertushka2715 Well to be fair, the Soviet Union didn't need a huge ocean-going fleet to begin with. Most of its waters were coastal seas, and the Germans were handled thoroughly by the British. They had a navy built for their region: Heavy on destroyers and especially submarines. Part of the reason the USA built such a huge navy during ww2 was the fact that they had to cross an ocean to get to either theater, so they had to have enough ships to put into rotation and they needed to be big enough to handle such long journeys. Soviet Union didn't have that problem. The navies were both built for each nation's needs and purposes. I just like to poke fun at the in-game Russian navy for being mostly paper ships. 😉

I guess it’s due to the fact that F. Carraciolo and Izmail were actually launched in water thus majorly completed while S.Soyuz and Lion were not

@@chadjensen2027 Ah yes, that's a fair point. I thought that the Soyuz was, by the looks of it, though, I was mistaken. Thanks for pointing it out. Although, that does leave some oddities, like the lack of Amagi, which was launched, but never completed due to the Great Kanto Earthquake.

Thomas Zinser as far as I know Amagi was never launched and only her sistership, Akagi, has made it to service although as an aircraft carrier

I am pretty sure these ships were launched but never outfitted/completed. While the other ships either never left the drawing board or had maybe a partially completed hull.

When several ships of the same class are in the game, they generally chose one ship to represent the class. Warspite is represented by the lead ship of the class, Queen Elizabeth. The only repeat classes that I saw were Gangut/Oktober and Conte di Cavour/Giulio Cesare, where they were able to show the class before and after a major reconstruction that changed the ships' dimensions.
