I had to blind buy and will be excited to smell it. I like George's other recommendations. I would very much enjoy hearing him describe Ambre des Abysses from Houbigant. I just received it and it's quite impressive.

I really wish I could get my nose on this at a local high street dealership, never really dipped my toes into Oud but I am a big fan of the 1 Million line..

I grabbed a bottle as well and I love it! Speaking of oud, george, you should try to grab gucci intense oud. It’s just as good if not better! I recently picked it up right before golden oud.

@George- This one reminds me of ATH’s Violet Delirium a bit, albeit more synthetic and and less floral. Great fragrance for a designer!

I have 1MGO tied with 2015 1M EDT. Both are great, for me EDT 2015 has the best performance. 1M GO is special. Its wonderful. Like you said truly fantastic.

Bought this based on your review, and while it's wonderful, it brought to mind Ameer Al Oudh by lattafa. I compared them, and Golden Oud barely edged it out in the dry down. Love yr reviews, man!

I love dark strong oud fragrances, started purchasing ouds when i worked in the Middle East 20years ago. Montale black oud being my number 1. I may need to cop this one. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✌️

Glad you get a tester with this one. Agree on the quality not on the smell. Very familiar smell if you have been to the middle east or even any high arab population area in any major city in Europe. If you like that go for it. Likeable? Not in my experience. I tested it and asked all my employees what they thought about it. It was 10 people and just one person liked it and two even made a face. I think this is just for the fragheads.

I get ever so slightly hints of amouage on this one, especially jubilation and black iris very slightly though it's a great fragrance

Newest fragrances I have purchased (by release date) were Sauvage Elixir/LNDL Bleu Electrique/Intense Cedrat Boise. Instead, I’ve been hunting down stuff that I want that’s hard to get in the USA like Dior Homme Parfum and Intense, as well as a backup bottle of Versace Oud Noir, and for Christmas I was gifted Bleu de Chanel EDP (humorously the first one I’ve ever actually owned). I’m waiting for MFK to release his first mainline male fragrance for Dior so that I can hop on the hype train and see what the community and reviewers say about it while knowing the truth myself. I fear his take over of Dior, but we will see.

I blind bought this based on your review (and there really is no way to test it anywhere anyway). What a great release, I'm loving it, and I am not generally a fan of the 1 million line, I find most of them way too sweet and juvenile for me. But this one is absolutely great! I feel they should have made it a standalone release instead of a 'flanker' of 1 Million.

Of topic: Does Davidoff still make the original Cool Water? And do you compare cheap vs original scents? Yep cheap is the word.

The more I wear it, the more it smells like PDM Carlisle to me. Without the strange sweetness that Carlisle has. This still has a sweetness. Just not somewhat off putting like Carlisle. I must say, this fragrance has grown on me significantly from the first spray.

No. Best 2023 release was Christopher Sheldrake's Rauque for Roberto Greco. And the price Rabanne asks for synthetic lab juice is outrageous.
