Was Fortnite Chapter 2 BETTER Than Chapter 1? 

For Chapter 3, I just hope they do something similar to the C2:S1 opening scene. You know, when Jonsey jumps out of the bus at the end of the cutscene and instantly puts you in a game? Yeah, I want something like that again.

"When you run through tomato town, after you killed everyone and have 10 eliminations on the board,". Isn't that just chug jug with you?

The biomes were a part of what made ch1 so much fun and interesting I hope ch3 does something similar

Chapter 2 Season 2 was amazing. I had no problem with it being long. The locations like the rig and the grotto were amazing. The battle pass was brilliant. The Deadpool collab was absolutely awesome. The season was the best chapter 2 season ever. It was beautiful. It made me go back to the chapter 1 days. I never had more fun in my Fortnite days. I miss you Chapter 2 Season 2, and farewell Chapter 2. You will be missed.

c2s1 was meh c2s2 was great, kinda long but I loved playing with my friend c2s3 was ok but there was no storyline c2s4 was absolutely amazing and as a former mobile player, had to move to switch. best decision I ever made c2s5 was kinda slow but the event was cool c2s6 was awful, I don’t have any words to describe it c2s7 was ok, at least it was better than s6 c2s8 - i know a lot of people want it to end already but personally this was the best season for me to grind 20 levels in a single day

As someone who started playing in Chapter 2 season 1, I have a very special feeling of nostalgia towards Chapter 2 that very few people have

Man chapter 2 season 2 was probably one of my favorite seasons of all time behind chapter 1 season 5, it felt fresh, unique, and different with the new concept of bosses and mythic weapons added throughout the map. It felt exhilarating to defeat a boss, grab their weapon, loot the vault, and escape while evading other players and made me feel like I was in an action movie. On top of that the tsunami storm at the end of the season was something that we never seen before and changed the way the regular storm worked completely. That was one of the only seasons that I felt had a similar spark to what we would feel in chapter 1.

As someone who stopped playing, NOTHING will EVER beat chapter 1. Especially OG season 2/3.

Chapter 2 season 2 was so good, being in quarantine grinding with your friends

i feel like the last couple seasons, 5 - 8, they just weren't the same. Like i feel like the colors or the hud or something just feels different from the first four season of chapter 2. i just really hope that chapter 3 is more like the beginning of chapter 2.

In my opinion, the problems with chapter 2 were: 1. Lack of updates: During chapter 1, we got frequent updates, weapons and new mechanics being introduced mid-season. Chapter 2 however, gave you most things at the start, and only added 1 or 2 things mid-season. 2. Map changes: With chapter 2 came map changes like the flood, desert, primal biomes and other major changes. But they were only temporary. But with chapter 1, the major map changes were kept throughout the chapter, and gave the map more variety. 3. Season durations: In chapter 1, season ran for about 10 - 12 weeks each. That was fine, but the seasons this chapter were all over the place. Some were 16 weeks, 13 and season 1 was 18 weeks! I think the best length for seasons would be 13 weeks, so long as we get more content throughout the season.

Imagine how great this map would be if they kept Stark Industries, Salty Towers, The Grotto and The Agency.

In my opinion i didn’t make as much memories in chapter 2 as i did in chapter 1 but it was still fun

I just realized that the last season of this chapter and chapter 1 both had mechs in them at some point.... I can't believe chapter is over already

A lack of new content is not what makes a season underwhelming in my opinion. Chapter 2 season 2 was one of the best seasons ever. A few reasons why I think this: how all the bugs of the new mechanics were fixed, the battle pass was iconic with Midas+meowscles+Deadpool+more, the new POI’s were awesome and had mythic weapons so they never really got boring even though the season was long. I actually enjoyed that that season was long because it gave us more time to play that version of the game which was just such a solid peak version

I'm hoping that epic chills out on the Collab's, I'm fine with a few here and there but its just to much, They need to add some original skins. Also they need to make more map changes like you said, the game is very dry with no POI changes. I also would love consistent updates like they used to do. I do think that epic has learned and i believe this next chapter will be better than this one.

I can still feel the nostalgia... I definitely agree with the different biomes, we had arctic, desert, we had even some sort of forest with Japanese culture built into it. Chapter 2 for me felt really great but like you said, they lacked that feel with different environments, and I totally forgot about that until you said it.

I used to always drop in Moisty Mire in Solo. I liked that I basically always got to loot that place by myself almost every time. Even; and especially, during the season where it had the movie set. When it got removed for the desert area I was sad. lol.

IO guards were easily one of the top things that killed this game. You play a battle Royale to battle other players, not fight Bots, IO guards, dinosaurs, and wolves for the majority of the match. Most of the time you don’t run into actual people until the final circles.

That's it bruh. The addition of different bioms throughout the chapters is what ch.2 was lacking. I remember when they added the volcano area. Completely messed up team liquid KEKW but what a fun addition that was. West world was also such a vibe.

The ONLY reason why my friends and I still play is the introduction of the reboot van and revive mechanics. Otherwise, it was someone died, restart, someone died, restart. C2S4 with the marvel was by far my favorite, so many unique abilities, fan favorite skins, and me saving wolverine is coming at us. C2S2 second favorite, with the Grotto and Oilrig POIs, the vaults, the toilet/garbage/haypile transporters, undercover phone booths, miniguns and prox mines. Chapter 1 was a blur to me. I really only remember Lucky Landing, Borderlands collab and Gotham City towers.

i started chapter 1 season 7,best time of my life,i just wanna have those memories again,i miss when you could have fun without someone building to height limit in 2 seconds,i remember my first win ,it was all laughs and not getting mad even when i died (a lot)

the simplicity of chapter 1 is the reason it is the most loved "game period" in probably video game history. players, revenue, ads, and happiness peaked in that chapter, along with new friends, memories, and times we will look back on due solely to fortnite chapter 1.

Tbh Chapter 2 was too sweaty Chapter 1 was just soo nostalgic in the end

I feel like the thing holding chapter 2 seasons is because chapter 2 got more deep into the lore and storyline thus the map and weapons were supposed to add on and reflect on to the storyline

from season 1-4 are definitely my favourite seasons. not just for the game but just my life as well as i was quite happy with my life at the time i was also playing comp (even tho i sucked) which was super fun

I have a feeling that Chapter 2 was severely damaged by the way Epic did it. Seasons 1 and 2 were I feel like epic just had to get used to the way they released updates and such. And the map barely changing might be because they weren’t sure how to go about it. I’m pretty sure that this map is somewhat larger than the OG map making it a little difficult to drop massive biome changes and such. However I feel like Epic will have learned a valuable lesson by the time we’re in Chapter 3 and will be more comfortable with the updates they drop. So hopefully, Chapter 3 will be much better than 2

in my opinion, chapter 2 season 1 was the one best season of chapter 2, because it just reminded me so much of the old chapter 1 map, it was literally a chapter 1 season 2 like map, with more additions and effects.

I loved the start of Chapter 2. Seasons 12 and 13 are among my favorite seasons ever. I quit Fortnite after season 14. I played a bit in season 17 but still wasn’t into the game. I really miss Chapter 1 and early Chapter 2

Didn’t really get into the game until chapter 2 and I have a lot of good memories playing with the boys. Now we rarely get on.

I would say that the reason why we all "care" for season 1 more than this season is because the memories of starting a game that everyone including yourself was bad at will never b something we can return to, no matter what explanation you want to make the nostalga of something the game will never see again is gonna be the reason why chapter 1 is missed.

I honestly hope epic somehow clutches up in Chap 3 and makes the game interesting bc i think a lot of people are gonna come back to see how the new chapter is

i think that chapter 2’s highs were just as high if not higher than some of chapter 1’s highs, but it’s lows we’re REALLY low, and suffered way too much from just a general lack of updates

Chapter 2 season 6 is where I finally decided I’m done with the game because I think it was the worst season to date But I came back because chapter 2 season 8 was actually good

I LOVED SEASON 4 There was so much content and fun things to do, fncs was great, pumps were back, it was just an amazing season

Chapter 2 has not evolved whatsoever imo, it's just gotten substantially worse gameplay over time and the only changes the map received was painted grass and they took a few locations away. Chapter 1 on the other hand was receiving major changes every season, season 9 and 10 were the worst seasons of that chapter but both of them easily beat the entirety of this chapter

I remember being in playground at tilted playing with my friends , and playing squads, even thought we died a lot i had amazing memeories. Sadly now when i play with my friends or play solos, i dont enjoy it, and i hear my friend's keyboard going hard. I just miss my old days of this game. When did it get so hard to take a step back.

Sweats still ruined this chapter for me personally. I don't like how most of the hanky mechanics/items were removed but the chapter was honestly fine. It is definitely better than I felt it was looking back now.

chapter 2s content was better than C1 , but the fact where they’re season lacking content throughout, and the time they endured, i personally stopped after s5 because it came out of whack, chapter 2 was not for me towards the end but early was goated , just wish more update

I don't have that many legendary memories with this chapter like I did with Chapter 1 but surely this chapter will be nostalgic in a few months or years.

i wish we could go back to the first few seasons of chapter 2. i loved the agency and all the mythic weapons and keycards for vaults

The thing I hope the most for chapter 3 is they bring back good bosses with The vaults because I really like getting good loot for my match and I always like to see all the good stuff that people left behind when they open the vault if I wasn’t lucky enough to get a key card because they always leave like at least two legendary’s and one epic rarity gun am I only one who wants this back

I wasn’t super into the Colabs in season 5 but i still found it to be a very fun season especially because of the sand

The main reason why I hated late chap 2 was the POI loot the early seasons of chap 2 had vaults with lots of loot so you’re rewarded for killing 3-4 people, the end of chap 2 you could kill 10 people without getting a gun over blue. I think loot needs to be more consistent over all

I pretty much stopped playing Fortnite right around the end of C2.S2. I could never get used to the new controls so when they got rid of Legacy settings, that was all she wrote for me. Didn’t play any of C2.S3, came back for Marvel season. Played a little if C2.S5 cause of Master Chief. Haven’t played it since.

The second you started talking about the map and the og music started playing it felt like all of my great memories just flashed in front of me

I think the chapter 2 seasons in order of fun / exciting gameplay would be: 2,3,4,7,8,5,1,6

I just wanna say, i think they did the biome changes diffrently than chapter one because they were testing how people would respond, so i assume they will add more permanent biomes!!!

the thing that rly annoyed me abt this chapter was the mythics they overpowered most of the fights id go into but this season and maybe season 4 have been so fun and this season is the first time i finished everything in the battle pass section (to show that i did actually enjoy it) hoping i can get more fun in the next chapter

Better loot pools, fun updates, amazing seasons, a good map, map changes, no way it’s worse then Chapter 2.

Anyone else notice that he didn’t talk about the Travis Scott event… understandable but I don’t think it was worth not mentioning because of how crazy it was for the game and how it was one of the best live events in the game of all time

Hard to say in chapter 1 we had LTMS like food fight, 50v50, and the floor is lava as well as the Endgame LTM. But for Chapter 2 that’s when creative mode began to rise and the events and collaborations picked up.

Ok, just to clear the fact that I’m not being bias, I’ve been playing since mid season 3 of chapter 1. As far as having fun and good memories, chapter 1 is easily the winner. But if we’re talking about the game itself, I think it’s undeniable that chapter 2 added way more. Almost every season added a completely game changing feature, with npc’s, bars, swimming, mythics, crafting, and a whole lot more. If I could play one I have to go with chapter 2 just because of how many more features the game has.

Chapter 2 season 2 could've been the best season if it was shorter. I still think content wise it was the best season and the most fun to play to be honest

What really set me off about chapter two was the gameplay changes. AI (something that I still despise because they ruin the flow of the game) Mythic weapons (could be cool for more newer people but I got used to guns not really needing to be special) Those stupid superpowers from mid chapter two (Again would be cool for newer players but as a guy who played hours of just shooting people how would you feel that instead of having a gunfight a guy thored your head, it just ruined what was so fun about fortnite) Lack of diversity in weapons and poi’s (the main reason why people wanted a new map in season X was because the map was getting old and was getting bloated the map was a mess it looked like a Xanax overdose, the weapons and new items were getting old as well they were clearly running out of ideas but really I would take this meth trip over the boring chapter two map and weapon progression any day.) Just the game in general (it didn’t feel like fortnite it felt like what DICE did with BF 2042 just trying to shy away from what made chapter 1 so good but while doing that lost their touch on not only the fanbase that loved their game so much but their self awareness and communication to the community.) Chapter two didn’t feel like fortnite, chapter three does.

I've said it once before but I'll say it again, I hope for C3S1 they introduce more weapon attachments and vehicle mods over time rather than throwing them all in at the start. I imagine they'll take a slight break because Christmas, and they'll have spent a lot of time on content and the map, so I hope they spread the content out.

Depends which seasons in each of these chapters. I’d say chapter 2 seasons 2,3 and 4 were way better than season x and season 9 but then like chapter 2 season 6,7 and 8 werent better than some of the best seasons in chapter 1 like, seasons 1-5

I think, the main reason ch2 felt dry is because all of the new pois got removed after a season ends. Imagine if current nap still had grotto, fortilla, stark, agency & more. 2nd reason - there were a lot of laggy seasons because of AIs and some other reasons (also, as players got better it was easier to notice delay in building and editing) Season 2 actually felt like they removed EU servers for me

Honestly, I loved the spire. The elevation on it was super cool, especially when the final circle was on it

i started in chapter 2 season 1 can't believe ive even play fortnite for this long already tbh but lets see i loved Chapter 2 Season 4 so what me and my friends would do, we would go in battle lab and fight the bosses then fight eachother when we have the mythics

Map wise yes, memories (I played mainly solo so talking about watching streams) were better in C1 I play with people now but now when I open a streaming service fortnite is one of the last things I watch now

I stared in season 4 chapter 2 and I LOVED IT!!!! Met a lot of new friends. Also C2 S5 was when I started getting good and having so much fun. The rest were not that good in my opinion, but I was always hyped up in the beginning of those seasons!

Funnily enough, even though I hate season 6, it was the first and only season so far where I got the max skin. And I still main golden spire assassin to this day. I think I got to level 260 or something by the end of the season

I think the reason behind the lack of map changes this chapter is because they focused on the collabs more. Also during the first Chapter they didn't plan to change the map ENTIRELY, so they instead were changing some pois or adding completely new ones because that was its priority back then. But that's just my impression about it. Either way both pretty good chapters and I'm hyped to see what Chapter 3 brings us and how the map will look~

I only started playing in lockdown; Chapter 2, season 2 and was amazed I hadn't liked it before on my brief try of one game in chapter 1... Every season since has made me feel the first impression was right, season 2 was just a blip of greatness - story, music, map, characters, fun... All gone downhill massively since!

You make a very good point about the map changes. There's a concept in cognitive psychology called the "fan effect" where the more memories you make about a single thing or event, the harder it becomes to remember specific details because that one event will fan out to multiple similar memories. For example, if you take the bus every day to work it's going to be hard to remember what happened in the morning on a random day. But if one of those days you took a taxi, that day would stand out way more. Same thing with the ch2 map. The map didn't change enough in a significant way that made me feel it was a different map. Ch2 map was same old, same old with a few extra goodies thrown in each season.

Chapter 2 started off so strong. Season 2-3 of chapter 2 were my favorites. After season 3 Fortninte fell off a lil to me. Primal and Obduction season, I did not like at all.

C2 comes back in November and people will see C2 is better when Fortnite peaks in player accounts

I agree but I also think chapter 2 may be missed when we're mid chapter 3. Unless Epic really blows it out of the water and steps up their game.
