wasn't the any colour so long as it's black thing discredited on QI ? .. and yes, i get all my information from panel shows, i find half remembered information is the best.
@@dominiccrimmings6925 They introduced black Model T's after 5 years of various colours not just blue. Blue, gray, green, and red were all available. Towards the end of the Model T’s life, six new colours were introduced, from Royal Maroon to Phoenix Brown to Highland Green.
Henry Ford built a Ford factory in Cork in the 1910s which was operating til the 80s. And they also named the Ford Fairlane after the street where his family stayed while waiting for the boat to America.
"The Model T inspired the Volkswagen Beetle" ... or rather the "people's car" concept Hitler was enamoured with (the name Volkswagen literally means "people's car" in German) - the car design itself has nothing to do with the Model T, it was "officially" designed by the Porsche studio, in reality it was mostly the work of Hungarian-Austrian designer Béla Barényi.
Because Ireland isn't about impressions. USA is, so everything is huge and cheaply made over there. Ireland is small but solid. Not rich but not so poor. Certainly rich in heart where America has a deficit.
@@luminousfractal420what are you talking about? Ireland is consistently the riches or second richest nation in the world and Catherine Ryan is Canadian, so I don't even know where to begin on how wrong you are about everything..
It's a shame that the general television-viewing public are so unintelligent, and this got cancelled because it didn't contain enough shameless exploitation and sexualized women.
Being anti Semitic is NOT being racist. You can have black Jews. It’s hatred of a religion that is the definition of anti Semitic. Also it was accepted by the courts that Henry Ford knew nothing about the anti Jewish articles in the paper he owned. He was the owner not the editor.
I gave a very comprehensive explanation as to why being antisemitic (it isn't anti-Semitic, 'Semitic' is not a word and historically has been used as a racial term so try and avoid it please, I've made the same mistakes but my Jewish friends have picked me up on it) is in fact racism, particularly in this context. RU-vid has unfortunately decided to delete it, so I shall give it another go
Hitler, the Nazis and most fascist groups classified/classify the Jews as an inferior and dangerous race of people. The persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany was not based on religion, but based on the belief of a Jewish race. The holocaust was not religious persecution but a racial genocide. Modern antisemitism has become a racist act, because it is rooted in the belief that Jews are a race. Of course, Jews are not a race, but that does not make this antisemitism not racist, seeing as the oppression and hatred is very much based on the belief of race. Sure if we go back hundreds of years, the majority of the persecution of Jews was very religious, coming from Christian churches and the Islamic world, based on the accusation of Jews believing in the wrong god, or being blamed for Jesus' demise. But it is so important to differentiate between this older, religion-based oppression and the modern very much racial hatred we see today, and was seen in Ford's time. I hope that clears up why this antisemitism was indeed racist and continues to be.
It's hostillity, discrimination or prejudice against a people- the jews- not a religion. The palestinians are also a semitic people, but they don't get associated with anti- semitism.
Geeeeeez, did the production not have a budget for a make-up crew? David's hair is messy and his face is shining like he was sweating - and, worst of all, in the close-up shot at around the 0:44 mark Catherine Ryan looks like he she has chest hair...
Another formula game show featuring the cast of every other formula game show on UK TV. Oh, David's not a team captain, he's the chair now! How refreshing! But can we still get Victoria? Yes of course, don't be silly. And Lee! Not Rob, though. He's only funny when he does Ronnie Corbett, and that audience has been decimated by Covid.
