I've resurrected the 2003 DR650 by replacing the clutch, fork seals, wheel bearings, master cylinder and a whole bunch of other repairs. Now it's ready for adventure, but was it worth the cost? Here's a breakdown of what I spent.
Sounds like a bargain to me. At my age, I have problems shifting into 2nd and getting going. A little more sunshine and warmer temps should help. Lol. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
I've read about 3rd gear failing, haven't read about 2nd gear. What is the 2nd gear issue? Either way, it's been working for 20+ years, so hopefully it'll keep on trucking.
@@mustachemoto I made a classic mistake, I stuck my head above the parapet and made a comment that people disagree with. 42 years a motorcycle tech and I know nothing, anyone wanting to know about the 2nd gear issues on DR650's and CCM650's just has to do a simple online search to see it.
I bought new in 2020 researched them for about 2 years before I bought one and been on several groups since owning never heard of second gear problem but have seen a few have 3rd gear problems and that can be disastrous for the engine the dr650 is very popular in Australia and u got a bargain we can't get them that cheap and no longer able to buy new
