Thank you so much, RaeRae for this review in particular! I pass by the sample size in Target and Ulta on the regular-and have an internal debate on IF it’s worth trying after hearing so many reviews that it doesn’t yield the overall best results for 4C naturals. I L❤VE your willing and obviously kind spirit of sticking with a brand to give it another try, so honest reviews are ALWAYS shared with your viewers. Remain blessed🥰
I appreciate that. I try to give my viewers what I want as a viewer, which are honest reviews on the product, application and overall performance. Thanks for tuning in.
Thank you for sharing your hair care experience with us! Although your curls didn't turn out as you'd like, you provided great detail into your regimen & we would like to provide options for better results going forward. Between minutes 12:35-13:40 you noticed a change in your hair, which is normal during the styling process as your hair will begin to dry. A quick remedy for this is water, you can reapply water to bond the products together & the areas that flaked will form together again. For a quicker & stronger hold, we would encourage using a blow dryer/diffuser on cool setting. This will lock your curls in, especially if you’re heading out & have no time to air dry. This will also assist with any frizz you experienced. You did notice the same area around 15 minutes into the video, so we hope that this information will produce the results you’re looking for & hopefully we'll get to see you rocking your PATTERN again soon ✨
Thank you so much for these tips on remedying frizz. I will make sure to follow them the next time I use the gel. 💛 Do you have any tips on how to remedy the flaking?
Love the fullness 🙌🏾 Thank you for taking one for the low porosity team !😇 🙏🏾 I wondered how it would work for a WNG with different leave-ins🤔 I’m not willing to experiment,so I will wait to see if you try it on its own 🤗
I get a coating with all the pattern products I use too. I only like 2 products. One is the strong hold gel but for slick styles and the custard for twist outs.
Love your videos! I also had a similar experience, I used the gel with their leave in. I had the volume and definition but, my hair was so dry the next day and it flaked as well. I even tried it twice thinking maybe I used too much of the gel. Nope, same results.
Hi Rae! I can see it flaked a lot but it did come out full and nice. I am currently wearing a wash and go using Pattern’s custard. I used Giovanni’s leave in and then I used Uncle funky’s daughter and on top was the custard. I did get a little dusting. I honestly think her products are meant to be used alone but I need a leave in for my type of hair. And I like to layer my products with UFD if I’m unsure of the hold.
Yeah, other than the flakes, it looked good. I think I'm going to try the custard for a twist out vs. a wash and go. People have said that they got really good results using the custard for a twist out. Thanks for sharing your combo with us.
That's an actual snowstorm on your shoulders. Thanks for the review. I'll have to try the mousse one day, but I'll avoid the gel. I have used the cream for twist outs before and enjoyed the results.
The Pattern Strong Hold Gel didn't work for me either as a 'strong hold'. I liked the Styling Custard much better. It still wasn't a stiff hold but it was stronger than the Strong Hold. I ended up adding some Miche Set mousse to it and that combo gave me a nice hold. Maybe try pairing the Strong Hold with your Pattern mousse or with the Styling Custard if you are going to purchase.
Sadly this gel didn’t work on my curls, the level of coating on my hair was TOO MUCH… I do want to try her mousse. So I’m going to try the travel size of the mousse n hope I like it. your volume was amazing, too bad it flaked sooooo much ☹️ TFS ✨✨
I like the results of your wash and go! Unfortunately, you did have some flaking, which is unacceptable to some. But the overall look was great! I tried the stronghold gel for a wash and go also, and it did not work for me either. Like you, I am interested in trying the custard to see if I get better results. Thanks for sharing!
once or twice; just depends. Since my hair is longer, I will go longer between washes. I used to wash every 3 to 4 days, now I will wait until day 5 or 6 before washing as long as my hair is still moisturized and looks good.
Hey Beautiful! It has been my experience that all the Pattern Beauty styling products that I have used don’t mix with ANY non-Pattern products. It always causes flaking or those white cottage cheese looking balls in my hair. This is why I don’t use Pattern anymore because I absolutely have to use Eco Style gel to slick my hair back into a low puff when my hair gets old and I don’t have time to wash it. But even Eco gels don’t mix with Pattern which I was surprised about since Eco mixes with everything! I finally gave up on Pattern 😔 Anywho, I love your videos and your hair is so gorgeous!
Love your videos! Always good content. Here’s another Wash N Go idea - Kinky Curly Curling Custard with Bounce Me Curl Balm on top. It’s from a company called DesignMe. We done with I Create Hold 😂
Thank you! I don't actually have enough KCCC to do another wash n go and I don't have any Bounce Me Curl Balm. I've never even heard of it, but I will look up the company. Maybe I can pick up some around Black Friday. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@NaturalRaeRae yep definitely. It’s worked for my dry hair. Came out very shiny. It has a HOLD on it so be ready for the crunch. But you could go 7-8 days without having to do anything. I’m excited to see if it works for you!
Geez that’s more flaking than I’ve ever seen in any of your videos or with any other products. Yikes, I’m guessing that you’ll be washing your hair really soon.
@@NaturalRaeRae you’re too funny 😂. When others would’ve just done a slick back for a few days… I just knew you wouldn’t let it sit. After watching your previous videos. You absolutely hate a bad wash day result. And you waste mo time rectifying it.
@@2simmondss LOL, there were so many flakes that I couldn't even do a slick back. My hair was white and every time I touched my hair, flakes would fall. Adding product on top if that for a slick back would've have made it worse imo. Even my husband said it was ridiculous and he doesn't usually say anything negative about my hair. I didn't notice the flakes were worse with the cream so I am hoping next time I won't get flakes.
"She said this wasn't supposed to flake".. SHE LIED... ALL her products flake. I feel that Tracy made her line for hair like hers and is Type 4 Phishing, I've returned almost everything I've bought from her but I like the Nectar and her cream is OKAY but needs an agreeable gel. We have nearly identical hair and I've been waiting for you to try the Keracare Gelessence gel, it's 5$ at Sally's and the moisturizing one is incredible, it clumps like wetline but dries with 0 crunch no matter how much you use and still holds! It's paired with every leave in I've ever thrown at it as well. We have identical hair, lowkey protein sensitive, Low porosity 4a coils that act like 4c lol. If you try it I would even send it to you or your PO box. But I highly recommend being heavy handed with it. I would bet my life savings you'd love it and its CHEAP www.sallybeauty.com/hair-care/shop-by-product/hair-styling-products/gels-and-glazes/moisturizing-gel/SBS-007339.html
Okay hair twin.😂😂😂 What are 4a coils that act like 4c? That is so funny to me. I'm sorry you don't care for many of her products, but have you tried the mousse? I actually like it. I still want to try the Nectar but I am trying to not buy anything until Black Friday. I need to use up some more of my stash. I would be willing to try the Keracare Gelessence, but again I don't want to purchase anything until Black Friday or at least until there is a 50% off sale. You are making it sound really good, though, especially if you can be heavy handed and it still not flake. I'll definitely keep this gel on my radar. Thanks for sharing and for tuning in.
@@NaturalRaeRae The "4a that acts like 4c" is just the texture. I feel like our coils shape like 4a but our density is high and low porosity so it feels like it can look like any hair in the type 4 spectrum depending on the level of definition. As for the Gel, I am so confident in that gel that I would even send it just to prove a point 😂. On that note your channel is growing! You should open a po box or an amazon gifting account, it's only a matter of time before sponsors reach out plus subscribers can sponsor a wash day that way!
@@Sloppyjoey1 oh, I see. Yes, my hair can look like any of the type 4 textures. As far as a PO Box, I do have one. It is listed in my description box near the bottom. I am thinking about opening an Amazon gifting account. Thanks for the suggestion.
