You and your brothers, that's what it feels like listening to you gentlemen. You're not just doing radio and tv, you're actually doing ministry and fulfilling your God given mission. God bless you and your generation.
This is what Kennedy Agyapong has been screaming about for months now. The Northern regions and the volta plains can feed the whole continent with the right investment and leadership
Ben, you haven't seen anything yet. What Ken was talking about is real and true. I have traveled to more than ten out of the sixteen regions; visiting every district at least three times per year and my God Ghana is truly not poor. Gold and cocoa are the least of our natural resources. People all over the world can leave without gold and oil but can they leave without food? We are blessed beyond blessing
Waooow this guy is socioeconomically brilliant ……the submission alone waooow this is what we call generational knowledge imbued in a young man…….my brother God bless you …….you’re using radio to affect your generation…….this is what we term proper journalism educating the listeners
I totally agree with Benard Avle and this is the same message Kennedy Agyapong has been preaching. We truly need to come together put aside our political differences and change the future of the country. #ghanafirst🇬🇭
Coming together???? By who???? You need to elect a leader first before you can come together. So, it begs the question, how can we elect that kind of leader who can bring us together? Thus, it's not about putting aside our political differences. It's about you becoming an activist, identifying that personality, and selfishlessly working for that person to get to the Jubilee House. It's not about being aloof!
Bernard, you need to share this mindset with the schools and university. We need to start somewhere and it starts with education. When you know better you can do better.
Or visual aid format (e.g., must-watch mini documentaries in schools). Well-meaning Ghanaians, with seed-planting mindset (not the religion type🙄), could fund something like that.
Kwame Nkrumah was the only true leader Ghana ever had. l continue to hear IMF and World Bank coming to tell Ghanaians how they should run their country. I remember writing papers years back in school bordering on Bernard's viewpoints and almost turning 40 years, and Ghana is still in a mess. What a shame!
Is about time we forget about these politicians and do things on our own as citizens, people like Bernard understand the economy more than those in power...
Say it again Bernard, I agree with 200% and I hope it's sinking down with our leadership in general. Our thinking is too shallow, all they do is policies that will make citizens que with frustrations etc. Shine your eyes leaders!!!
In 2022, I did research in Gemeni, in the Volta Region on fish waste and loss. It was apparent that the key resources the fish farmers wanted were access roads and cold storage facilities. Most losses and waste are due to poor roads and lack of facilities to store fish during the bumper harvest. Meanwhile, this community is a major supplier to major markets in Accra. Unfortunately, fishing is still very basic with many of the farmers at risk of drowning when there is harsh weather. After that research, I wondered why the government could not build cold storage for this community and provide a good road network for this community. These are issues for our country and we should not allow shallow minds to lead us. We must demand the best from them.
This was exactly what Kennedy Agyapong has been saying for the past 6 months during his campaign. How our leaders only knows book economics and we still suffer when we need to actually get down and do proper economics
The trigger for this rant was the stark poverty he saw from his visit to those remote villages... We hope his ideas could be taken seriously by our politicians from the divide . This requires a total shift of mindset from our current consumptive nature into that of production and value adding mindset to our resources....plenty to say .,..
This must be listened to in silence. Whilst this is a talk concerning national issues. It call for introspection nationally but more importantly personally. transform your life practically.
Very well said, Bernard. I share all your sentiments. We need to start holding our leaders accountable, and it starts with citizens demanding better for ourselves and having strong institutions that work for all
On point @Bernard Avle It's very sad. The idea is there ooo but to put it into action is the problem. We need a transformational leader/ leadership in Ghana
Ghana should by now make conscious decision in making some of its citizens millionaires through the food chain. We are so blessed, if you get the opportunity to travel and see the conditions under which certain countries make things happen and the kind of resources that we have fellas it’s almost like a curse. Bernard have a Podcast and let the conversation continue there.
Exactly, passing the exams or making those high scores must come with you being able excel to transform things. I was telling a colleague @ work about certifications. He asked "do you have any certification @ all" ... i just said, i used to have but all expired and no need to get new ones because i am able to learn and build the things i need to build as expected by my employers for their businesses. ...i don't want to just study for the exams/certifications .. but rather learn, use the technology, to transform!
I agree with all that you've said. But how do we begin to address the leadership deficit/crisis? How do we address the leadership challenges at the individual level (outside government)? Until we answer these questions and act, we are going nowhere.
I retail rice produced in Ghana and it’s not easy. The biggest issue for the industry is the lack of irrigation systems which results in the produce being incredibly seasonal and thus results in ridiculous price fluctuations. Getting people to trust and consume local rice is hard enough, add the price fluctuations into the mix and it’s almost impossible to sell to consumers that are already incredibly price sensitive. We really need to do better.
Well said, Mr Avle. You are indeed a concerned patriot.Ghanaians need to wake up now and do the right thing. And it's simple: Whatever we do, we should just vote ALAN JOHN KWADWO KYEREMATEN President of Ghana. Then, all the crap about NPP, NDC, breaking the 8, etc., will be irrelevant. It will not matter which party wins or goes into opposition. Alan will utilise all resources and talents in the supreme interests of the nation, via his GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY, under the: GREAT TRANSFORMATIONAL PLAN (GTP). Done!
The word is "social welfare maximization" rather than "socio-economic". And I agree with our understanding of economics as Bernard put it. What we have now is "egonomics" where a leader thinks given out peanuts to his people is a bread and butter privilege to them 😊
The poverty in our smaller villages is very insane. Our leaders should come up with transforming policies. They should industrialized our system. Mechanised farming.
Great argument for the nation to have now. What happened to Kwame Sefah of peace FM and Paul of Metro TV, both are quite as they enjoy a piece of the pie. The Media is part of the problem.
Did Kwame Sefa Kayi tell you he receives any money from a politician or you saw him take one. Just cheap talk and denigrating of a man's image. He is a single person who has transformed your premature birth index and caregiving than all your governments and you're here talking nyaaaa! You also have a voice. Go and speak.
This is not intellectual rants , no no no. This is intelligent rant. But the main issue is until all Ghanaians no exception discipline our faculties to be conscious as human beings, nature shall continue to remain us the hardest because we don't respect nature i.e rivers(water), forest, soil(earth), Air and fire this are the elements of creation and expected to be peaceful and comfortable. On the individual level some doesn't feel the suffering at all but as a country if we don't change our mindset and be discipline, I'm sorry.
Bernard Able you are right. Bangladesh controls the world's apparel industry. Thanks for your enlightenment. But I do blame great journalist like you. Why is it that you don't expose such senseless leaders especially when you have them on your show. Guys like you must take over power from these senseless leaders in the Parliament and other public offices. Kudos to you ❤
This group of individuals in Citi CBS understands EDUCATION. Our education is meaningless unless it is linked to solving problems. Common Sense is obviously not common to most of our leaders. Hmmmm... Ghana can actually be transformed in less than 5 years. Our roads can be constructed, our schools can be resourced, our hospitals can be resourced and can work efficiently, and our markets can be fixed. We just have to rewind our brains and say to ourselves, we want to develop like Dubai.
We cannot achieve the type of development we want with this free for all democracy. 1.Democracy as is practiced in the west, is only done when you are developed and at the level of self actualisation. South Korea,China and Singapore didn't get to where they are because of western democracy. 2.Government must control and direct every aspect of the life of the people... That is why those who seek to rule us must be among the smartest people we have. More so they must be people with a good heart, who seek the greater good at all times. We cannot get these people from the shouting and insults competition between the NDC and NPP. The party must be Ghana, with all on board....The leaders and the followers. The reason why western style democracy is not good for us at this stage. 3.The mindset and attitude of the people must be changed through education and sometimes brut force. And it must be education for a purpose. Read about the journeys of Singapore and South Korea. Sometimes you need both to let a people know what is good for them... You cannot get to the top by changing route because of every small complaint in the name of democracy.
The transformation must start with the media! You guys throw softball questions to them whenever they're in your studios for interviews. Start asking the right questions such as the ones you're posing when they sit before you. The so-called professionalism from the media is what is stifling us and not making our leaders accountable
U can sit on radio/Tv talk about all the best ideas but when its not heard and considered by our leaders who can process these ideas, talk/effort/work done is zero. distance covered work done zero. its so so sad.
Can we just give the country to Bernard to govern. Too much sense in one person. The politicians should come and listen to sense. Especially poor delegates
We are not holding the politicians accountable that is why the country is still in shambles. If we dont get a leader who can use transformational structure to fix the Economy we are Doomed. They keep enriching themselves instead of impacting the society as a whole.
China opened up their economy to the best of Western companies, offering very cheap labour. But insisted at least a Chinese be head of Research & Development. That's how they transferred technology from these Western companies to Chinese minds. What does government policy on investments seek to benefit in terms of technology and skills transfer?
Bernard Avle stand for president and I will vote for you. Both NPP & NDC are failures and that's why they always compare themselves. )mo ab)n tu!!! Tweeaaaa! NPP & NDC too be party distin?!
One day this country will be lacking skilled labor to develop the nation because every youth is now thinking of leaving the country. Skilled and Unskilled. And why are they leaving, because there's no jobs. They spend all these money for Uni only to come and sit at home. And these politicians have the nerve to sit on media and brag that they did better than the other. Childish mindsets. But I can't blame them, the people aren't demanding anything from them so they get away with stupid things. In any developed country, if what is happening in this country was happening there, 60% of these Ministers would have resigned. Even the Vice President wouldn't have the audacity to come and seek election. There's no shame whatsoever and no accountability. Until we have this system in place, there won't be any change.
With the " Tilapia" production, if it is so, how many Ghanaians can afford the price of Tilapia in ghana? Cos it makes economic sense that , massive production of a particular item or products should automatically affect the price of such product...especially if it is basic necessity for the citizens.
On paper the ideas of Nana Addo's administration sounded brilliant but the implementation was poor. The same could be said of JDM. I think our problem is our inability to simply get our priorities done.
the problem is leadership!! you can have all the right ideas, but if there is no leader to guide the implementation, then the papper ideas becomes nonsense
Do you know what Transformation means? is the question for us all to answer. Is it that we don’t use the best production countries of rice as a case study. Mmmmmmmmmm
