John Lewis is counting on an excitable baby dragon called Edgar to put some heat under sales this Christmas in its first joint festive advert with the retailer's sister chain, Waitrose. The campaign is fronted by a 10-year-old actor called Ruby, who had to act alongside a stick or plastic model in place of the animated Edgar, who was created using CGI

I cried at this advert when it was on, and I’ve just watched it again for the first time in a long while, and I’m sat in bed crying my eyes out! The best John Lewis advert in my opinion!

I love this ad and the song is perfect for it. Edgar is brilliant in showing how over excited some of us get over Christmas. The ad is funny, especially with those dramatic pauses and it also made me cry. Well done John Lewis, best Christmas ad ever.

I absolutely LOVE this! It's my favorite ad ever, and I come here off and on to watch it yet again - even when it isn't Christmas. Edgar is just so adorable - his expressions are priceless. And I love Christmas the same way he does!

This was super super cute. At first,Poor Edgar felt unloved by all those who were around him,due to all the damage he caused,but then his other friend thought of a way of how he COULD be useful,then he shows how much he DOES care about everyone!!

Nahhhh! nothing will ever touch the 2016, the trampoline :) those beautiful animals, music 'one day i'll fly away', the faces of the little girl and parents...Just the best advert which i still watch from time to time to put a smile on my face :)

Yes... I missed Baby Oleg SO much when they got rid of him for ages. Glad to see him back with his little girl friend. I am still a child inside and awlays touched by cute stories.

If only they extended the adverts a few seconds on where Edgar after burning the Christmas pudding there's a jump scene and he sitting amongst the dinners eating a plate full of Turkey,roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding sprouts and cranberries sauce.

I remember doing work on this back in 6th grade, i made an alternate ending for a joke where edgar slips while holding the cake and hits his head, he then bursts out fire, my friend made jokes about it saying edgar hit the ice hard and i was laughing so hard
