What I LOVE BEST about your videos, besides the extraordinary work, is that you don’t talk over everything you do. As viewers, we can see it, and your typed messages perfectly explain the finer details. In a world filled with so many people talking, this is such a relief. Thank you.

I agree, but sometimes I do want a little more information. Like why did you use hide glue on one part and pva on another. Same project
@cathrankin8123
@cathrankin8123 11 месяцев назад
@@SiddiGorsky-xc7ubIf you check out @Baumgartner Restoration, he does Art Restoration, you’ll see hide glue is something restorers can ‘step back’ and ‘unglue’ so to speak, with various solvents and heat. It’s often used as a bond between materials, like canvas to wood. PVA is a bonding glue, which when used on wood + wood, it’s hoped it won’t break or come apart (not generally reversible). ❤

I like that he does not use music throughout his videos. The sounds of the workshop is enough.

I love how you restore things by taking the time to actually replace material where it's been broken, eaten away or otherwise damaged. So many other "restoration" videos "restore" pieces by making the end result nothing like the original piece assuming because they don't want to invest the time or possess the skill to do so. I've picked up so many incredibly useful tips and tricks watching your videos.

👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💥💥💥

I almost had a heart attack at the 11:30 repair-I thought, “what in the heck is he cutting off? He just fixed that piece!!?” You are a master craftsman, and I love watching your videos. I recently picked up a bankers chair made in March 1930. It has this same decorative nailed leather back, and I appreciated watching your technique. (I threw out the horsehair-I didn’t know it could be reused 😝) Side note, my bankers chair was $5.00 American. 😂. It is in solid, beautiful condition. The leather was dry rotted, and it needed a refinish. Almost done with it, and I can’t thank you enough for the tips I am learning from your videos!

👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💥💥💥💖💖💖

A fortune can be made by techies working for some of the major comanies sitting at a desk and computer screen, but they won't even be a memory and leave no imprint on history. This craftsman will leave a legacy, and in another 100 - 200 years when someone restores this piece, they'll admire the craftsmanship carried out. I would rather leave a legacy that survives, than make a fortune sitting at a screen and leave nothing.Beautiful work.

Hello, A wonderful restoration. 😊 It was exciting the upholstery hadn't been changed since it was made and most of the wood was in good condition. You would love the French Brocants; I watch Chateau channels ( Chateau Diaries etc.) where they film buying in French antiques. The prices are so low its incredible; upholsterd beds with slats from €80, sofas from €40, you would be in Antique furniture heaven. ♥️🌟 Thank you for your super-amazing videos. Xxx
