saddleback.com/... - When we’re in a valley, it’s tough to see the light in the midst of the shadows. We often feel alone and even lost at times, but there’s comfort in knowing that God walks with us through the temporary darkness. In fact, there’s a divine purpose in us being in the valley, whether it’s to learn patience, grow in our spiritual journey, or experience God’s power. In this message at Saddleback Church, Lee Strobel joins Pastor Tom Holladay in talking about lessons in the valley and how trials can ultimately strengthen our faith.
Lee Strobel's best-selling book, The Case for Christ, has been turned into a movie, releasing April 7, 2017. Learn more about the movie at caseforchristmo...

Saw The Case for Christ today. What an amazing story. I'd like to read more from the Strobel's. This is one of the best Christian-based film I've seen. Mike Vogel is awesome. He should be nominated for best actor! This film should be nominated for best film! Yes, I cried!! All should see it, Christian or not.

praise God, I get happy to hear testimonies like these, I have spoken to atheist, most of them are very difficult, full of mockery towards Christianity, God and the Bible.

The movie is very good; saw it on Netflix. The one thing that stands out in the film and in listening to Lee speak is he does not mention "the Devil" or "Satan". I like that. No blame game; just "here it is, and if you want it come and get it".

Just saw the movie- Awesome! Amazing! I can' think of enough good words to say. I cried for about 10 minutes after the movie was over. The review of the Death and Resurrection of Christ throughout the movie was a reminder to me of how deeply loved I am by God and the possibilities of the depths of God's redemption in anyone's life. God is forever faithful.

Well one really can’t let this video go unanswered. I always thought it was immortal to not be honest. We should hold Bishops to the same moral standard as we hold everyone else to so I’m going to fact check with the help of some christian biblical historians and with some nice work done by my friend Paulogia. So let’s start with the critique by two Christian Biblical historians and see if the agree with Robert Barron’s assessment of Lee Strobels book and movie. podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/new-testament-review/id1377442882?i=1000470187480 So Biblical historians are shocked by the lack of integrity’s and skepticism shown by Lee Strobel. What about some of the specific points raised by Strobel and highlighted by Robert Barron. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bWRbnu_RQuE.html Robert Barron also seems to imply we should trust the alleged martyrdom of the apostles as evidence for the resurrection. Well let’s look very closely as to whether there is any evidence for that. This seems to be a tradition cited by Christians not grounded in evidence. ru-vid.com/group/PLpdBEstCHhmXtCb1Ihr4NgJkSmPVT8g3t As for the swoon theory. That’s something put forward by Muslims who see Jesus as a prophet but not the last prophet and not the Jewish messiah. I don’t believe in the swoon theory. I believe Jesus was crucified. Do we have evidence that he rose from the dead. Well let’s look what the evidence would suggest...... Christians claim there is a pile of evidence for the resurrection. Is there? Let’s have a look? ru-vid.com/group/PLpdBEstCHhmX2Cpda9s4nnxOMt2kwruBc

I saw both the movie and his documentary. I have always believed in God but have only beem saved for about 2 yrs. Lee's story has only further confirmed for me that there is hope for every soul walking lost in a world of sin. It took me 45 yrs to fully understand what it meant that Jesus died for me and everytime I think about his brutal death, it brings tears to my eyes.. How can a sinner be so worthy of such grace? He was praying for them as he was dying. Wow.. That is the kind of love I want to follow. I have chosen to give my life to Jesus 2 yrs ago.. I hope everyone watching will do the same. Amen

In the movie there is also another scene where Lee is at his father Walter's Funeral and then the family goes to Lee's childhood home where he was raised and Lee goes up to his father's study and his mother hands Lee a scrapbook to thumb thru. Awesome movie great message. don't miss this opportunity to use this movie to bring someone to know Yahweh Yahshua

I was trying to show the love of God to a friend the other day and he asked me for proof of Jesus outside the Bible. I created my own little Lee Strobel case to get all the evidence I could to show him! But to my surprise I found out all the evidence points towards Jesus never existing. What a relief, I thought I had to get my whole life to this religion! Happy to entertain any conversation, I can disprove the Bible using almost any page of the Bible itself at this point! Much love from one human to another and never stop questioning what you’ve been taught ❤️

That movie was awesome. I think what got a lot of secular audiences to like the film is because how real Lee's situation was, not only was he searching for the truth but he was going through real life problems with his dad. His story wasn't told through the perspective of a religouse zealot but a very real atheist in search of answers he didn't want to be there a person with with real family issues that a lot of people can relate to. Not all bio pic's are done well (The Tu Pac film to name one of the bad ones) but this one was put together really well. The Director did good in putting the issues Lee was having with his family along with the police death case he was investigating & not just sticking to Lee's quest for truth, those other bits made it more relatable & real, it along connected together nicely.

We make bad choices sometimes and also cause other to make bad choices and sin, but we don't want the consequences. If we allow evil to lead and be part of our lives then what do we expect. Now there are lessons to be learned and it is easy to blame God instead of asking God what do you want me to learn during the struggle.

Yeah, that should have been left in there to show case the cause of the rift between himself and his dad & why he wasn't on speaking terms with him, it would have been deeper, had more impact & made more sense instead of Lee just saying his dad was never there for him. When he talked about it in the interview I knew instantly the pain something like that could cause, if my father had spoken that to me I too would have been scared for a long time. It was cinematic gold, it should have been left in the final cut but overall the movie did turn out very well. I haven't seen a religouse movie with a high critic score on rotten tomatoes before. Passion of the Christ was also done masterfully unfortunately it didn't score brownie points with critics.

Lee's life Health crisis brought him to the point Where Yahweh Yahshua used the bad to bring on the good. Yahshua kconfirmed that he will never leave us especially in a time of deep grief saddness loneliness sickness in health. This brings us to the Marriage Supper...evething in life is so much easier when we are united in a marriage Union. it starts with the Courtship. And until Yahshua returns for the Big day the Consummation of the Marriage Ceremony. And this is how we know that Marriage was made by the FATHER of our Creation.

Isn't it more beneficial to choose good instead of evil? So why is it so hard to make a decision and just make excuses to continue doing evil. John 3:19-21

If God is unable to prevent evil, then he is not all-powerful. If God is not willing to prevent evil, then he is not all-good. If God is both willing and able to prevent evil, then why does evil exist?

Hello there! We think Steven Curtis Chapman and Pastor Rick's message speaks to your question very well! You can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U9KFNm8ceVg.html. SCC's story is full of pain, sorrow, and questions, yet he has found the goodness of God even more powerful and real through the bad.

@erniestrauss2364
@erniestrauss2364 7 лет назад
It may not be the answer you like but it is the answer that. the Bible gives to the false dichotomy offered, God can prevent evil, but He is patient. God is willing to prevent evil but He is patient, There will be a judgement and evil will no longer exist. Gods ways are not your ways oh man.

Biocolor it's called free will. When Jesus died for our sins it was not required that we love and follow him. Consequences came with his death. Please stop blaming God for the evil of this world.

Jesus Was Born Incarnate Jesus was born incarnate to a young Jewish virgin, lived a sin free life, was illegally persecuted and then crucified on a cross on Calvary. He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God. Jesus met with 515 people after His resurrection in a dozen different occasions over a period of about 40 days before He ascended into Heaven. Jesus knew He was entering the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for the sin of mankind. His body had been divinely prepared by God specifically for that purpose. Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world, and He knew it. Moreover, He was doing it willingly and joyfully. Jesus came to earth to reveal God to mankind and teach truth. He came to fulfill the Law and offer His kingdom to mankind. He came to show us how to live. He came to reveal God’s love. He came to bring peace. He came to heal the sick. He came to minister to the needy. He was raised in a family who didn't believe in His divinity. He had six half-brothers and two or three half-sisters who didn't believe in His divinity until after His resurrection. What gets me is demons knew His divinity but many men and women of His time didn't. I presume Mary and Joseph knew His divinity. But in Luke 2:49-50 [NKJV] “He said to them, [His earthly parents] “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” This makes me wonder, did they not understand Jesus' divinity? "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV) Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was "about 30 years of age" at the start of his ministry. Jesus preformed 14-15 miracles (they were called signs) in the three years or so of His ministry on earth. Many miracles were preformed by Jesus Christ but not specifically identified and recorded in God's word. Jesus' miracles were followed by Jesus forgiving the individuals of their sins and commanding they sin no more. Many of Jesus' miracles were not identified. No other religious leader forgave mankind of their sins. 29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” The Purpose of John’s Gospel “30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:29-31 KJV) Our sins separate us from God, and there’s nothing we can do to make things right. So, we need someone to save us from our sins and make us acceptable to God. That someone is Jesus Christ. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is given no other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 GNV) That’s why God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong we’ve ever committed or will commit in the future. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God the Father. We are sinner from birth and need help, Jesus Christ is that help, our only hope. Therefore by the deeds of the law (Ten Commandments) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law our sins are recognized not saved. We must confess (repent) of our sins and iniquities before Jesus Christ, at the foot of the cross daily. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, to His disciples that: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” I will not stand before The Great White Throne of God, my sins have been cleansed by Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the cross. And I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ of all my sins and iniquities before-today, today and forever. I Love Jesus Christ and despite of the fact that I'm human and I fail Him daily, I pick up my cross daily and follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified on the cross where He died for my sins and inequities and that He rose again on the 3rd day to give me a way through salvation and sanctification, known and unknown. He loves me dearly and has forgiven me of my sins and inequities. His Word says that if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father. Following, I believe are the greatest verses in God's Word. "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV) I am a Christ-follower and live in the Kingdom of God on earth in Jesus Christ, my Lord, Savior and Leader. I have faith and trust in the grace and mercy of God for eternal life for my soul in Heaven when I pass from this life into paradise. I proclaim this openly to the world, that I am sinner, that I am sorry for my sins and iniquities and repent of my sins and iniquities and receive Jesus Christ by faith into my heart, mind and soul as my Lord, Savior and Leader. I openly confess Him as Lord from this moment on, I want to follow Him, I pledge to obey Him daily, and read His word. I will include those in my prayers who are lost and have chosen to deny God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV) I am in the “Lamb's Book of Life” and will not face “The Great White Throne of God” which leads to Hell. Jesus said: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and lean on Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29 KJV) The grace and glory be to God. God bless

If the god of the bible had been portrayed as a king instead of a God , he would be remembered as the most evil, mass murdering, tyrannical dictator of all time! Christians give the bible god a free pass because, they say, he is god the creator. I don't see the difference whether man or god. If his actions were evil or immoral, as the bible states, then he'd be just as guilty of being evil as any human committing the same deeds.
