Followed your guide, along with a written RGH 1.2 guide. I used his wire colors, and your install, I especially liked the CLK alternative point! that was so nice. Not having to try to mess with the smaller point. Thank you for the upload
I just got a xbox 360 with Falcon .. Does this tutorial still stand up today? Also did you do a kit package, as you spoke about in video - or best place to buy things needed ? Alliepress maybe ? Many thanks if you reply to this.. great vid
I figured out that if you want red LED's you need to bridge the grounds on two of the stock LED's (top left and bottom right) because on the board, D1 and D3 grounds share the same points, D2 and D4 share same points as well. You only have to change the center LED. From what I understand, green LED's take a little more voltage to light up than red meaning the green LED's have more resistance. So the path of least resistance is to go through the red LED's.
I rgh'ed my trinity console thanks to all of your videos! I bought the ACE chip and a jr programmer and did it, took me like 4h but I managed through big thanks to you! now to my question: can I use the X360 ACE v2 chip to rgh also phat console or do I need a coolrunner for that? can I rgh all corona motherboards with only the ACE chip and a jr Programmer v2 or do I need something else for that?
Phats are easiest using RGH 1.2 on a Rev C or a Matrix Programmer. It is however possible to RGH a phat with an Ace. Some coronas are 4gb and require a 4gb r/w tool, and some would require postfix adapters, but yes you can use an Ace on any Corona.
Where can i buy some LEDs ?? Like different Colors, and do you ship stuff to norway?? Kinda want to start trying to make my 3 phat Xboxs to an rgh on all of them. What chip do you think works best and What chip is the most easy to use😊 thanks
I have a 2008 falcon are you able to RGH that? Also it's missing the case screws will that affect it being rghed it has the case just no screws so the case is lose
I have what I believe to be a Jasper. I’ve never really messed with a 360, so probably a dumb question but, if I do a RGH, do I need to flash the dvd drive separately? Which programmer and glitch board would you recommend?
Yes RGH and DVD drive flashing are wholly separate activities. Check out weekendmodder.com I've got recommendations there for the supplies and process you should use
It appears that you recommend a matrix over a cool runner. What are the differences? And what are the differences in programmers? I see you have them all. And I don’t recall seeing anything on dvd flashing
Hey Weekend, have you encountered a stubborn BB 512 jasper freezing at the same spot on boot logo? I'm in that situation right now. Nand retail (when flashed back) is fine, xbox works normal. When using a coolrunner and following exactly the same process as you, my box freezes at the same point in the boot logo. SUCKS. I'm rerouting cable ATM and reading around/testing methods from 7sins and xecuter forums (from cable routing to SMC configs). I have a nice booting Jasper 16mb already, but the BB is giving me hell. =D
So since you've got it somewhat booting, you obviously already have the CPU key and can extract the KV and other files. What I would do is use the " Tools -> Create image without nanddump.bin" feature within Jrunner to rebuild the nand image from it's own KV. There are pretty good tuts around on how to use that " Tools -> Create image without nanddump.bin" feature, but essentially you put the KV.bin, smc_config.bin, SMC.bin and (if applicable) fcrt.bin into the xebuild data file and Jrunner will build a new nand image from those files. I've had that fix the exact symptoms you are describing before.
I had to take time off and step back for a while 'cause I have been on this 2 nights in a row starting to go nuts (I also work a full time job in the mornings, and have a kid: grown up life lol). I'll start reading about creating the image without nandump.bin. Thanks for the reply, and for the videos/info! The 16MB Jasper was RGH'd thanks to your laid back and chill tutorials, I will try and update my freezing status on the BB. Take care!
Hey Week! Just a update (in case someone else faces the same situation I had while watching one of these excellent tutorials!) I found a couple threads about _"Create image without nanddump.bin"_ and tried the method, but for some reason I kept having the same issue: the boot freeze. Re-checked my soldering, re-soldered pll and cpurst just in case, did other cable routing, even went with the original coolrunner wires, etc., but finally decided to keep going the "it has to be a nand issue" route given the fact that Xell was always fine, and in a retail flash the xbox was always normal. I found an old post in Xecuter forums where one user said he fixed his trinity with the same issue I had, so I tried his method. He fixed it by using a program called "xNandhealer GUI v2.0". I did notice I had a bad block @0x73 on my original nanddump, so I unmapped it with xNandhealer using its "Remap Blocks" tab, I selected the "I want to: take an image with bad blocks and create a copy with the relocated blocks back in their original locations" option and hit "Unmap now". I then took the created (unmapped) xNandhealer nand, went to Jrunner, loaded it as source, saw that now it had "No Bad Blocks", inserted my CPU key, created an XeBuild image with the corresponding Dash version. Before writing anything, I did a 512MB nand erase with JRunner's Advanced>Custom Nand CR Functions , rewrote an ECC image on the freshly erased xbox nand to have Xell back up, took the XeBuild image I created earlier, put it on a formatted Fat32 USB drive, booted Xell and flashed the newly created nand via Xell Reloaded (not Jrunner). I can say that this method worked for me. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction, sir. =)
haha Thanks man! You just showed a fellow modder (myself) (with much less experience of course lol) "how to fish"! Take care and keep those tutorials and vids coming!
help dude just followed your video up to 1:07:16 switched on console got 1 quick green flash from coolrunner but have no signal on monitor from console what have i done wrong
Make sure you wrote the correct ECC file to the console, also try re-writing your timing file to the CoolRunner. Obviously make sure all your soldering and connected points are good.
hey just wondering, since i get two types of cables one for the phat and the other one for slim, if the one for phat is too short can i use the one for slim on my phat?
My biggest worry is soldering for the first time, I'm worried I'm going to merge dots together with solder when trying to connect the wires to the motherboard.
hi i have 2 phats 360 with falcon and i want to do the RGH on both, its the same process of this video? also i only find in my country de jr programmer v2 and matrix v3 glitchers, can i do it with those?
thanks for the answer , also i see a lot o posts that says that are diferent version of falcons (v1, v2, v3) y really dont know how to know what version is mine... is that important or it doesnt matter?
ok... so i was watching your online store... i wanna know if you can ship internationally, to Mexico to be specific, i want the nandx and also two of coolrunner glitchers...
I've had the no Xenon policy for a couple years now. When I first put it in place Xenon RGH was considered at best "for dvd key recovery only" and could take HOURS to boot. From what I hear recent RGH 1.2 methods are better, but often still problematic. Frankly they just aren't worth the time. They RROD in the middle of RGH part of the time, and the rest of the time customers complain about them RROD'ing within weeks of getting them back. Just too much hassle all around.
TheWeekendModder I'm just messing with you lol. I have a falcon dual nand. Anyone that wants a xenon RGH'd isn't very smart because they are extremely unreliable. I like the development modders have made with them within the past couple years though. I just don't get why they're investing their time on the xenons.
Insite DGF thanks for the info, I did the rgh 1.2 on a jasper and wasn't getting good enough boot times, after trying mostly all the timing files I did the cr4 dynamic ace file and insta boots almost every time. Sometimes the light on the ace indicator appears to do a successful glitch but the console doesn't boot. Like 2 out of 10 boots.
PLL is the same from RGH 1, but the POST point is different, and during RGH1 days most people used the topside RST point but RGH1.2 calls for the under the CPU RST point popularized by R-JTAG.
seen in the comments that coronnas are the worst for rgh why is that I'm currently doing one myself , I have the nand read just waiting on my mod chip. thanks
i got all my parts from you a few days ago im working on a Falcon right now and everytime i bring up Jrunner it says Connection Error. I've tried everything and cant fix it
even if you had a perfect xenon, why would anyone bother. it doesn't have HDMI. I mean come on. through that paper weight in the trash and pick up a jasper for $50 on ebay even back in 2017. hell they were $80 in 2012. or craigslist. i mean i just picked up a jasper, a 360e, 5 controllers and 4 games for $50, everything works, craigslist. even in 2020, thats a hell of a deal.
