Watch Mike "Beard Guy" Taylor Memorial and Tribute Concert 

Hi Everyone. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts on this tribute. CBC Music was proud to be part of such a moving evening. A number of you have been asking why both the BNL and Arkells sets are missing from the on-demand video. This is because both BNL and Arkells asked that their performances only be live streamed. We need to honour their requests. Sorry and thanks again for watching. RIP Mike Taylor your music and presence will be missed.

I had the honour and privilege of calling Mike my friend. We attended high school together and we worked at Mother's Pizza together and played baseball and hockey together. His passion was always music and sports. He was an incredibly talented piano player and an exceptional athlete. He was very proud of his kids and had a passion for life. I like most everyone was shocked to learn of his passing. It hit home due to he was a long time friend and we are both the same age. Last time I saw him was at our 20 year High School reunion we talked for hours and shared a lot of laughs. Rest in peace my friend I am a better person for having known you.

Seeing you guys stand there without Mike, really made it real for me. Stay strong guys, sending love your way 💕

When I would first see beard guy in your videos it would stand out because he would pop up and play such a limited role in the song but then you guys would showcase the depth of his musical abilities and that guy was truly amazing. Not just because he was such a talented musician but because he was willing to sit back and play a background role in the things you guys created. It takes a humble person to do that instead of trying to hog the spotlight when you have the talent to hog the spotlight. I don't know the guy but I bet you he made everyone around him better just by being around them. RIP Beard Guy your cameos will be missed.

Sarah hugging and comforting everyone on stage just made me cry more. Beautiful concert. Rest in peace Beard Guy. You'll be missed. ❤️

I've always loved what the band represented, very creative, talented, unique perfomances. I would only hope that when it's my time to go, I could leave such a positive impression on people to deserve such a wonderful tribute.

It's so hard to not cry while watching this tribute. RIP Beard Guy. Learned of this news pretty late. Have listened and admired WOTE ever since 2010 😭😭

I remember the show wote played in Vancouver for free, when power cut out they were troopers. I will never forget that show 💗

Man that performance of Hold On was a tearjerker.

As someone that attended tonight, this was honestly such a wonderful show that was put together. The street were PACKED. Even those in the back who couldn’t see all huddled around cell phones that had the stream going. There were people that brought boxes of candles to hand out. There were tears and laughter, and an unmistakable feeling of unity. Rest in Paradise Mike. ❤️

I love how Canadian all of the vibes were for this whole tribute concert, it feels like a bunch of friends getting together to celebrate the life of another friend.

Sarah is a Mama Bear. Tender and loving but tough enough to get through this tribute...speaking for them all, with heart, soul and eloquence. Well done sweetie. And bravo to CBC for making this for fans like me in BC and all over Canada and around the world to see. I dont know why but i cried when i heard this tribute. I have been listening to WOTE for years, but it's not like i knew them personally and i dont usually get emotional when celebrities or people i never met die. And Beard guy never spoke at the beginning but that was ok, that was his thing, that was the running joke at first til he surprised us all when he finally spoke in a video haha. Maybe it was the music, maybe it was the fact that beard guy was so calm, maybe his calmness made me feel relaxed, maybe he had the reassurance that a close family member would have when they wanted you to know everything would be ok, maybe it was the cool vibes he gave off, maybe it was his majestic beard, maybe it was his strong protective shadow that hovered over the group, maybe it was the way he could say so much without saying anything at all. Idk why, but i cried, i felt like something was missing in my life just because he passed away. Idk why he has this effect on me but i know i cant be the only one that he affected like that. I miss you already beard guy, and i know you will be missed by many and we love you. You will always be in our hearts Mike Taylor! We witnessed something fantastic, we witnessed a real-life angel, the most charming angel ever. Just wish we got more time with you on earth. Hopefully you can hear the music from up there, i know ill never stop hearing the music. Youll live on in your legend. Thank you for everything you have given us, we love you!

Couldn't stop watching their video's for hours...to then find out Mike has passed away. What a rollercoaster! And though I'm in tears right now, their positivity helps a lot with getting me out of the depression I'm struggling with. Thank all of you so so so much!

I’m sitting in the kitchen at 4 a.m., feeling lonely and displaced having recently moved my life to Brazil, with tears in my eyes and a bittersweet love in my heart because now I’m thinking how lucky I am to b alive and how incredibly blessed Mike was to have had all of you in his life. What an amazing demonstration of an entire community’s love and appreciation for one person having touched so many lives so deeply. Simply breathtaking and inspires us all to strive to be thought of so highly! A beautiful and moving tribute to a special soul. Thank you Mike.

My condolences to all the grieving fans. This isn't the first time that a well-loved band that has a knack for putting their own spin on songs, consisting of four guys and one girl, loses their bearded guy who often wears beanie hats, much to the sorrow of the fans. Nothing will ever be the same again, but I hope you can all find comfort in knowing that all the work the band did together will never be lost or forgotten, and their influence and people's lives being touched by all their work together can and will live on. 💙💙💖💙💙

You guys need to make a song called "The Beard Guy". Great tribute 👍That was beautiful. And WOW @ 20:10 to the singer of Monster Truck. His blues side came out. Great vocals. They need to do more acoustic so that his blues breathes under his rock. Best ive heard from them imo.👍

Wow. And that's about all I can say about that. Wow. We were SO lucky to see WOTE in Austin just a few short weeks ago before the passing of Mike "Beard Guy" Taylor. He, and YOU, are loved. Absolutely worshiped him and will CONTINUE to worship this band which is truly such a gift. Wonderful memorial from the heart and I know he would have been proud. So much love and hugs from Texas. While I am still in complete shock and saddened by Beard Guy's death right before the end of 2018, I very much enjoyed coming to the concert to gather around and celebrate life together. I'm already proud to be an official Canadian along with my family even thought we moved to Toronto, Ontario 6 months ago. I love you, Walk Off The Earth. The music is so good and heartwarming, and definitely worth participating. We will all miss you, Beard Guy, for sure :')

one of the things that makes you guys so good is the relationships you have with each other, making a group become one unit collectively. its a testament to what it means to be human to experience the loss of any one part of this unit, and the best you can do is to soldier on. im sure that's the best way to honor your friend. but we fans are selfish, and just want you to do your best to make it through a tough time and continue to make music. sad for your pain.....
