when you use heat to much on your hair that is when it causes breakage and also due to your hair type i use the dryer or dryer once in a while i actually prefer using the natural way to dry my hair but sometimes i use heat

And for everyone freaking out that she didn't wash her hair for a month, curly/kinky black hair doesn't need washing as often as straight/wavy hair because our hair is dryer so washing it multiple times a week would only make it more dry and cause real damage. Some black people swear by washing their hair every week or two while others swear by washing it once a month to keep length (personally I wash mine every 3 weeks, sometimes 2 and depending on the condition). It depends very much on the person and what their hair reacts best to :)

Maddie Bri perms make your hair break off a lot and will cause damage. Which is probably why it's like that. I suggest leaving it natural for a while. Whenever you wash it try just keeping it curly/ kinky and over time it should grow longer. 😀

Love it! See I have to shampoo first after my hair has been straight. There's like a dirty film buildup that does not allow anything to penetrate until I bust some suds up in there to break all of that nonsense up😐

I deep conditioned my straightened hair first for 30 mins, then washed and conditioned my hair. Those curls came back perfect. I used Shea Moisture products.

My sister's hair is about as long as yours. Mine is almost as long now, it goes up to my armpits when it's wet. I love it so much and it goes to my collar bone when dry!

+mjgarner123 I'm glad that you enjoyed it! And nope. I used them initially when I straightened my hair and also, I've been using their products for the past month since I've had my hair straight. My favorites are the PYT super serum (by far the best heat protectant that I've tried) and the hot oil treatment.

Beauty Queen maybe it's because your hair is too long. Because the longer it gets, the more it weighs and that will make your curls looser. Just like how jew jews hair is the most curly on the ends. It's because the hair at the end don't have anything that will weigh it down. You should try a protein treatment and maybe cut your hair a little bit shorter. And of curse avoid heat👌🏾💕

Ah your curls are gorgeous😍 my shrinkage isn't even a joke, hair goes from a couple of inches in length when it dries naturally after a wash to down to my shoulders when straight. It's so annoying🙃 my curls are SO tight, it's a pain trying to manage my hair, the texture just permits SO much breakage at the slightest tug

Hi, my hair has always been natural but I'm trying to grow it out. My hair has been growing past my shoulders and I was very proud. The last time I straightened my hair was in October and it was 2 inches past my shoulder. I braided my hair and I straighten my hair a week ago and it's back to shoulder length. I really want my hair to grow and I watch at least 20 RU-vid videos a day about natural hair. My twist outs don't work and I just don't know what to do.
