Looks great! I have a daughter with curly hair and just have this question: when you go to sleep and wake up the next day; you start over? Or what do you do to keep your hair like this over night? Thanks!
1. Dryer: I love to use my Dyson airwrap because it has EXTREMELY low heat (the highest heat setting is 194°F or 90° C)🙌 I use the Firm Smoothing Brush attachment for my blow-outs. ***B/c this dryer has such low-heat, my results are usually a fluffier braidout. So if I want a sleeker braidout, then I’ll use my Supersonic 🤗 Also, I paid $600 for my Airwrap… pretty pricey! 😭 But for me, it’s an investment so that I’m able to have fun styling my hair, without worrying about/ compromising the health of my hair!💃🏽 2. Heat Protectant: My favorite heat protectant is from Kerastase! ✨ I’ve tried MANY different heat protectants, and many are just too thin and watery for my dense/ drier curly hair😖 This heat protectant is one of the few that actually leaves my natural hair feeling moisturized AND soft. So that I don’t have to add a leave-in after when I do protective styles. 🤗 3. Leave-In: this one from Melanin Haircare is the GOAT for braid outs!🏆 It is really thick and creamy and DOES NOT make my hair revert. I’ve been using it for years and I use it for wash & gos too now!✨ 4. Deep conditioner: a great braidout starts with a great (and moisturizing) wash routine! I make sure that my scalp is CLEAN and my hair is properly lubricated before I add heat!☺️
Ummm….am I asking too much by requesting a vid (or short) comparing the air wrap and the super sonic? I want to invest in one but can’t seem to decide, I know quite a few girlies that need the tea, and we need it from a trusted source❤as you were 😂
I just got a big 80oz jar and don’t like it. The application was nice, spraying for water gives it more slip, defines pretty good. It does appear to absorb the water in the hair upon contact and that’s why you spray water after applying it but I say under the dryer for 20 minutes and my hair was so dull and it was soooo much snow flurries it was crazy 🤪 I haven’t seen that in years. But I’m assuming that I should have gave it a few hours to dry before going under the dryer and I used the gel by itself. I had zero shine and wasted my time. Ended up just applying more gel, wetting and putting it in a bun and will be like that and might try a leave in under and drying a few hrs before going under the dryer.
It’s been 9 weeks since I lost half my hair from bleaching and dying it. (It was 1 month apart but took 3 days so I shaved my head to a buzz cut) I still haven’t grown all the hair back so I will try to follow this thing.
Are you still rockin the mini twists? If so can you please do a week in my hair- mini twists video? Thank you so much for the tutorial, especially for mentioning the tip about borrowing hair from another section (I never knew that). Definitely will try the Briogeo leave-in. I think I will use mousse or foam instead of gel.
How do I stop my hair from shrinking when it's dry? I'm a male with hair long enough to go past my eyebrows when I fully stretch it out and my curls look good when my hair is wet with water/product but the moment it starts drying up, it shrinks way back to my forehead.
I usually use a foam moose, and a holding gel, but my hair still shrinks, just not as much. (But note I have between 4a, 3c, hair, and A LOT of it is damaged from when I used to get relaxers, I do think it depends on how tight the coils are.)
I was hospitalized during covid and my hair was loose, and wild. On discharge I showered, tied it up like this and was ready in minutes! Lol the nurses were so impressed
